Awful, Awful, Awful...the groomers at Petco in Hamden did a terrible job at grooming my 6 month old Goldendoodle!!I asked for a teddy bear cut and not too much off his body and they completely shaved his body and face and left a little on his head. What was the point of asking and having pictures if they wasn't going to follow directions! I'm pissed! Never, ever again! They are the worst, when the grroomer didn't show and they called us ro reschedule that should of been an indication of their lack of professionalism. Extremely disappointed.

Terrible experience with cathy p. My pup who is a crybaby but stays still when getting a bath, brushed and trimmed, apparently has caused trouble with cathy and she couldn't cut his hair but was able to trim him face, cut his nails, and clean his butt. Cathy is just lazy and didn't wanna cut his hair cause it would take too much of her time. We HIGHLY recommend NOT to book with cathy if you want your dog half done and smelling like an old person. Gotta give my dog a bath AGAIN.

Brought my puppy in for his 1st set of shot and the staff was very helpful and assisted me in picking the shots my puppy need and what to expect when I come back.

Always really nice to my dog and I. I bring my senior rescue here for a PET-Icure. Get it? Actually, it's a grooming of bathing and brushing, too. Usually runs around $50 for your basic wash/dry and everyone has always treated my dude as a rockstar. Have used them about 4 times and each time, I have been happy and my pet seems happy, too.

My puppy had a vaccination appointments scheduled at this location and they canceled three times which isn't inconvenient for them but for us since July 2022. This morning 8:28:33 I received a call from them and tried to return their call spoke a the front-end placed on hold waiting 6+ minutes rang back to the front they hang up. Called right back sane thing received a text from clinic and they just disconnected line. Very poor customer service

The worst experience at Petco in Hamden CT. Not only was my dog grossly groomed; I firmly believe I was discriminated against due to my race. My miniature schnauzer was shaved to nearly her skin. She had some matting but did not require this cruelty. Her ears were cut and bleeding. Her schnauzer brows completely shaved almost to skin as pink areas are visible. Brow area had no matting. There appears to have been no care to truly assess prior to doing the hatchet grooming. Her nails were not properly groomed. When I arrived to pick her up, I was told to pay first . I did not get the chance to see my dog prior to paying. This is classic discriminatory treatment of Black consumers when the mythical belief that somehow we are thieves and we must pay first for a service that is completely inappropriate. Then the mitigating audacity to ask me to even give a tip prior to viewing my dog. The tip did not happen. I paid $72.00 for this horrific experience. I called their customer service which is also lacking of the very word of service. I called several times promised to have someone to return my call and until this moment of making this written review have not received a call. I have demanded to be refunded. The treatment of my dog borders on animal cruelty. A consumer report will also be filed with the state of connecticut. Do not waste your time when having your dog groomed at Petco in Hamden connecticut.

Awesome! Can’t beat the price for sure - $150 for what my vet wanted to charge $420 for? You bet I’m going here for my pet’s vaccinations!

I called ahead and was told no appointments were needed for the quick services I required for our family dog because online there is not a way to book for simple add-ons only. Upon arriving to the Petco Groomer relatively early, I noticed that the one groomer I saw was busy with one pet, and another customer was inside waiting to be helped. Due to COVID restrictions, I decided to wait outside the door. I had no idea that my wait would be as long as it was. In addition, the one worker I saw, indeed saw me, but never fostered a smile or any type of acknowledgement to either of us waiting. We just continued to wait and wait and wait. So long so that I pondered leaving, but then decided to wait this out. After what seemed like 30 minutes, another groomer exited the back area to help the first gentleman waiting, I was still not acknowledged. Upon him exiting, I entered the grooming area to a very unfriendly/uncaring staff member (probably exhausted but, still not an excuse - I work in an ED, so I get it). I explained my needs and was simply told we are busy "try" coming back in two hours. Two hours? Try?? To my utter disappointment after being left standing and waiting outside the door, totally unrecognized by one of the staff members for an half hour and then told that we were not able to leave our dog and to come back in two hours, was really upsetting. Twice in one week, I was turned away after calling to be told no appointments are needed but unable to get a simple nail cut/grind and teeth brushing. Couldn't some have said something before I waited all this time. She just uncaringly insisted they were too busy and to try back. I explained that this was my second attempt to come this week, since I cannot make an appointment online for my needs, but this fell upon deaf ears. I was planning additionally planning on joining your new grooming club, but after I left the store called PetSmart, they said come right on over and that is where I will be doing ALL my business from now on. Grooming staff friendliness at the Hamden Petco has total gone downhill.

I have been calling this location for over 3weeks to get my dog in for his grooming. I did speak to someone once bc I was looking for the girl that did his hair cut last time, well to find out she is no longer there. They told me someone would call me back to schedule a appointment, well Monday will be 4weeks and still no call back. I have called the main head quarters and put in a complaint and the person that answered that phone seemed not to care. Well guess what I care. And I will not let it end. Thank god I found A place a little closer to home and a lot cheaper and they were fantastic Wash and Wags was fantastic with my fur baby.

Just brought our King Charles Cavalier there for a much needed bath and haircut, Michelle in the grooming salon was AMAZING! I was unable to book an appointment in the app so called them direct, and they got me in within 2 days. Michelle was so kind and professional, my dog was totally comfortable with her, and he looked oh so cute and clean when he was done! Seriously, she works magic on these guys, the one she finished up just before him looked just as amazing. I also made some purchases in-store while waiting, the young man working (Tim I think) was very helpful in picking out dental products. Top notch operation here!

Ordered online to pick up in store. Two customers in line joy including me. Once the last customer is done ringing out the associate continues a conversation and avoids eye contact with me, still waiting to pick up what I hoped would be rather fast. Fooled me. I'll think about it twice before coming to this Petco
