Customer for a few months since I moved to Greenwich, spending 500 to 1400 a month in the store, bought a couple of wines and I didn't like the first botte I opened so I decided to return the other bottle, the cheapest bottle I bought in the store, they basically didn't care, I recommend you go to a better store that has better supplies, variety and better customer service named Varmax Liquor Pantry nearby. The people at the Citarella store are good until you have a problem, then they cut you right out, the guy wouldn't even hear it. I accidentaly dropped a bottle I had already bought on my way out and I may be wrong but I think he came out chasing me, perhaps he wanted me to clean it? Insane.

Citarella, you could at least supply your customers with a paper bag instead of nickel and dimming people who patronize your store

Ordinarily, I love this store. Its fresh, green vegetables, lovely boxes of cookies, selections of meats and cheeses are very fine. However, do not get their Vodka Sauce! Horrible. I opened the container to find a thick, glutinous product with large slices of onion, strange looking bits of some unknown meat (?), three large, limp green things that were long dead, chunks of tomato. Just dreadful and repulsive looking. Was this a mistake on the part of cooks who had too much of holiday cooking? I threw the whole mess in the trash. Awful. It was like a mess of leftovers with a dash of catsup. I give it 3 stars because other purchases have been good.

DO NOT BUY THE ULTIMATE BURGER... they switch them out with the regular and then charge you for the ultimate. This happened to me once, I told the manager. He apologized and assured me that it must have been a mistake. Then it happened again. I have been a customer for years, now no more. I can't shop in a place where every time I go in I wonder if I'm going to get ripped off. Not a good look for Citarella.

After Ferrara ruined my birthday cake, Citarella came to the rescue with an amazing chocolate cake. The cake was made the same day and was perfect, from the design to the taste. It was nice not to find plastic/gel like inedible beads the way the cake from Ferrara had. I had a quarantine birthday this year and wanted to make the day the best I could, given the circumstances. Thank you, Citarella, for saving my birthday.

Nice store. But way over priced for the quality of food. Food was poor. We had pizza, a piece of salmon, rice and fried ckn. Just because we didn't feel like cooking

I like to call in my order ahead and at least 75% of the time it is messed up. That is not the fault of the store itself as the orders go into a call center (for which you are guaranteed to hold for a lengthy period of time, no matter when you call). The worst part is the frequency my order is confused, the amount of money I have wasted (including once bad scallops, which I had to toss) and the terrible treatment (so sorry! Here's $5 off!). Definitely looking for an alternative if anyone has any suggestions. I am tired of giving Citarella my money.

Caterer recommended using this company for party. Liquor store made recommendations for the appropriate amount of liquor, and we went with it. What a mistake! Numerous items not returnable and on top of that a 10% restocking fee. To add insult to injury, when I arrived to return items I called store for assistance in carrying in return and person who answered brushed me off. NEVER AGAIN. TWICE AS MUCH AS NEEDED AND GOT STUCK WITH WAY TOO MUCH "NON-returnable" items. Save your money and go somewhere else, I wish I had. Checked with my nearby liquor store(whom I do little or no business with) and they said this was outrageous and most certainly would have taken all back with no return fee.

Kind of a disappointing experience given what they charge. Surly service at the prepared foods counter from someone who could barely answer simple questions about what was in the meals on offer and didn't seem like he cared to know. Found a hair in the bottom of my almond cookie box today!! Gross!!!
