Most expensive vet in the area, for one. Do not take cats here for vaccines; they will charge you vet tech fee for a simple shot whereas other vets simply charge for the shot.
They quoted me almost double what another vet did for my cat's neuter (he has cryptorchidism). It was $600+ at Shore Haven, whereas West Haven Animal Clinic was $400 (but they are so good and honest that the veterinarian told me it only took him ten extra minutes and charged me a normal neuter cost anyways).
But the real kicker is their practices with kittens. I was worried about worms in my new kitten, and they told me to bring in a stool sample, so I did. They told me she was fine. That is not how it works! West Haven Animal Clinic properly informed me that they need the deworming treatment to poop the worms out, so they wouldn't show up if she had them in a normal fecal sample before treatment. Now I have to get my other cat dewormed, too, because he was never properly dewormed as a kitten. They charged me a fecal sample that did nothing.
Seriously, I don't leave reviews often, but this place will uncharge you like there's no tomorrow and provides false information. What vet doesn't deworm kittens? I don't know about other vets in the area, but West Haven Animal Clinic is a lifesaver. They are honest people. Vaccines just cost what the vaccine is, no vet tech fees. Save yourself the money and the worms.

There were a couple times when they had forgotten something and I had to visit twice in the same day.
Once was when they had forgotten to give my dog one of her vaccines and asked me to come back in the same day and the second time they had forgotten to give me her prescription food. I had to leave work to come back both times before they closed.
Thankfully they understood the inconvenience and quickly handled the situation by waiving some fees.
Kind vets and understanding receptionists!

I HIGHLY recommend Shore Haven Vet because they are incredibly professional, kind, and their communication is AMAZING. I have been to vets offices in Ohio, Montana, and Connecticut and Shore Haven is by far the best one!! Each member of their staff that I have spoken to, whether over the phone or in person, has never made me feel like they were in a hurry. This includes Barbara (Briana?) and Nicole at the front desk, the vet techs Jesus and Emily, and Dr. Pires!
I often have had to chase down results or quotes from other vets offices, but Shore Haven has never failed to follow through. Dr. Pires called me during Osiris' dental to give me updates on how he was doing and she also discussed bloodwork in detail with me over the phone for both of my cats! Plus, I have been delightedly shocked to receive a call to check in on my boys they day after their appointments. And last but not least, while I've been sitting on a bench in the main office, Emily has kneeled down in front of me to go over paperwork! While it is such a down to earth way to meet with a pet owner, I worry about your knees! Some cushions might be good to keep on hand. ?
Overall, I feel a lot of relief knowing that I've established my boys with a great team that will help make sure they live their best nine lives. ❤️

Best vet office we have ever been to. Shore Haven really cares. They are always there and we feel fully supported when we are there with our four-legged babies.

They get only two stars for me because when I had my pet rabbit taken there for an abscessed tooth they suggested that I put him down which is really ignorant I didn't like that it's only the second option as I could not afford surgery if he needed but on the other hand overall they did come up with a solution for his abscess tooth

Lived in CT for 5 years. For those 5 years I was able to trust Shore Haven with the care of my sweet girl. They did a great job making sure she was happy and healthy.
So grateful for their love and patience with us.

I brought my 4-year-old MC, and they needed to sedate her. When I returned, my bill was almost $400.00. Good thing I had money for the bank on me. I have Epilepsy and live in public housing and only have $400.0 for the month with NO help. I want to return. However, they should have contacted me before doing tons of tests on her.

I have been taking my My babies here for quite some time I’ve always had positive experiences. I am now going to board them for a couple days since Mumu has a medical condition that must be attended to and on medication, I agree with another comment. You may have to wait a few minutes in the waiting room, but I’ve never rushed during my visits at all. All my questions are answered when I call my calls are returned. Staff is excellent, as well as the veterinarians and I’ve had dealings with most of them very knowledgeable and helpful !Thank You

They are more interested in your money than your pet. Avoid at all costs.

This office is absolutely fantastic. They take great Care of my dog. I highly recommend them. Took me a while to find a nice and honest veterinarian and I scored with them. The front staff is great. The assistants are great, and the veterinarians are fantastic. :)

Love Dr Wayne and Dr Faubert! They're kind, patient, understanding and I feel that they listen to me regarding my dogs. Sometimes the time in the waiting room is a little long but I never feel the time in the exam room is too fast or cut short. I can always get an appointment within the time frame I need. The practice was a little unsteady for awhile, but it's much better now and I'm glad I stuck it out with them.
