Pet Care
East Hartford Animal Clinic
109 Connecticut Blvd, East HartfordI was updated several times throughout my puppy’s spay and she recovered quickly. We’ve been here several times prior and have always had a positive experience. Dr. Kane, Kimberly, Sarah, and Lucero in particular are wonderful, and very compassionate and competent in an otherwise stressful industry. Thank you for all that you do!
*UPDATING* to rave about this practice even more — Dr. Barrios is knowledgeable & thorough, Alyssa was able to draw blood from my severely reactive dog, Katie was so nice and Kim is always kind & patient no matter how busy it is! I will never go anywhere else.

Connecticut Feline Medicine and Surgery
96 Connecticut Blvd, East HartfordI've brought my cats here for about ten years, and and I can't recommend them enough. Dr. Miller and staff (I'm most familiar with Summer, who is wonderful, and everyone we've seen there over the years was great) have always been so kind and compassionate.
Many years ago I had some not great experiences at a different vet with my first cat, but I just thought that was normal and kept taking her to the same place her whole life. When Longfellow came into my life and we started going to CT Feline, the difference in care and service was incredible. Dr. Miller noticed that when his previous owners had him declawed, it left bone shards in his toes that were causing him pain. The operation to remove them was such a relief--you could tell it really improved his quality of life. Evie joined the family later, and everyone at CT Feline has been great at dealing with Evie and Longfellow's very pronounced personalities. As devastating as it was losing Longfellow to cancer, it was comforting knowing he was in such good hands. Evie and I are moving too far away to keep coming to CT Feline, but I hope we're lucky enough to find another place like this!

Tams Todd DVM
334 Silver Ln, East HartfordBoth veterinarians that I've spoken with were very helpful and I didn't feel at all rushed. Front office staff were also very accommodating. Waiting area is long and can easily handle multiple animals. They mail out reminders when your pet is due for vaccinations and/or other routine appointments. You can schedule medications to be received by mail. I believe that they also board pets. VCA accepts major charge cards. I highly recommend this business.

Paddle Creek Beer Company
1277 Main St, East HartfordI'm on a quest to visit as many breweries as I can. I visited Paddle Creek for the first time and the reason was sad as the brewery closes soon.
Nevertheless, I was pleased with my overall experience. The place is small and cozy, it has a wood cabin theme to it. It has one indoor space and a big patio. They serve beer flights. For this review I tried all available beers, and all of them were solid. Nothing astonishing, but just a good beer with a distinct taste. I particularly enjoyed their Brown Ale (He's a clown) and Kolsch (Lawn Racer) as the former boasted a strong tastes with notes of chocolate, and the latter was extremely refreshing and brewed just right for this style.
It is unfortunate that this place closes down, but hopefully it would be a new start for everyone involved.
