The room was very old and the carpet was very dirty in the hallway, with a slight old smell, but they are renovating, it just where we stayed wasn't one of those rooms. The prices should be a lot cheaper at least for the sections not renovated.

Noteworthy details: Had issues with getting the room
We prepaid for. We’re not cooperative when I asked for an hour earlier check in several days before my arrival. Phone to call desk did not work. Had to go to lobby for towels because of that. They did not have enough towels.
Room and bed were comfortable. Good location.

Rooms are pretty dirty, old, and used. It is a cheaper hotel but this place needs a lot of work. The restaurant/bar staff isn’t friendly and the food is sub-par.

Wish I could say amazing things about this property given my 5 day stay. Im not sure what standard it holds up to but it missed the mark unless its Motel type quality & service.
The tubs need major plumbing repairs, they dont provide sufficient towels and even basic toiletries.
Its hit or miss if anyone is at the front desk and they dont take responsibility and own up to the problems in the property, let alone offer a comp of any kind.
The worst would have to be that they dont offer room cleaning until the 3rd day of any stay and even then its 50/50 chance it'll get cleaned.
It is very disorganized as Housekeeping doesnt even have a clue as to who is checking out and seem to randomly offer Housekeeping on check out day. This is even with my Do not disturb tag I had on the door.
The lobby and lounge area is nice but I dont sleep there so its of no relevance to me.
The mattress appears to be of good quality, they just need to follow it up with quality linens.
Ethan Allen is a great furniture brand but the hotel is another thing, they should give it up and stick to making furniture.
Rooms: Rooms and bathroom need updating big time. Sheets are over worn.
Walkability: There isn't much to walk to, its off the highway so you have a gas station and dunkin donuts.

Very classy and well respected hotel in Danbury. Rooms are ideal for relaxing and conducting business. Plenty of common spaces to read, hold meetings, and events.
Nearby activities: Close to highway, not far from NYC. Lots to do and see. Plenty of eateries in driving distance.

This is one of those times I wish I could rate 0 stars. I booked this hotel for an out of town wedding. When I got to check in, I was told that the housekeeping had not completed cleaning them. I did show up prior to check in so this was definitely excusable. I waited until 3pm, which was the regular check in time and was told again rooms were not available, even though they had a couple housekeeping workers doing other tasks within the lobby area.. I had to get ready for a wedding in the hotel bathroom. When I returned to the hotel, I was told that they had overbooked the rooms and that I was being moved to the quality inn across town. While this room was adequate for a quality inn, it was not to the standard of what I paid for or expected at the Ethan Allen. I was told I would receive a call when I would be able to check in and never received one. I would highly recommend that nobody stays here due to their poor customer service.

Rooms have beautiful furniture, the bed was comfortable although more narrow than expected and some aspects definitely need attention (5 light fixture over bathroom vanity with middle bulb out, water stains on the ceiling tile in the bathroom, stain on the rug, small, dime-sized chip in the tub enamel). There were signs posted please excuse our appearance during renovations; which is needed. Beautiful hotel lobby and lounge. No breakfast included. Service was perfunctory. A ceiling tile fell outside our door in the hallway. We reported it to the front desk and it wasn’t removed from the hallway until 2 days later. The rug was never vacuumed where the tile debris landed in front of our door. I remember it being such an elegant place and it was sad to see it in this state. Hopefully, upgrades will be completed soon. Conveniently located near the highway, plenty of parking, and many shops & restaurants nearby.

Pretty good place. Bathroom floor was not cleaned properly so I wonder what else in the room wasn't. TV didn't work. Bed is OK but on the hard side of ok. Microwave, coffee machine and pods, fridge, tv, desk, shower over bath.

So dirty, literal leg hair shavings on the shower curtains before i even showered. Front desk said oh well! We checked out a day early because it was so gross we slept on top of the sheets fully clothed (:

The location is convenient right off the highway and the hotel itself is about 10 min or less from main st. There's a yummy spanish deli on the next block conveniently open from 6am to 8pm , has hot food and egg sandwiches.
At first glance when you walk in hotel looks decent, restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday and the staff didnt bother mentioning it at all even though I called a few times before i stayed there. When it was finally open the breakfast options didn't look too great. Our room smelt old and moldy, the beds were decent. Tons of stains all over the carpet down the hallways and inside the room. Bathroom rod was rusty to hang towels and tub floor looked dirty too but i think it was just paint peeling /rust. Small gym was just enough to get in a decent workout but treadmills were super outdated and had really old ipod connections and the monitors didn't work.
Staff was super nice and friendly and helpful.
Also its incredibly big, it doesn't look it but if you don't take the stairs to your room on the second floor , the walk is a good 2-4min depending how much luggage your carrying. It's kind of ridiculous. The hotel is used for conferences and weddings/parties.
It was also super close to some diners and a steakhouse. Probably wouldn't stay there again I only got it bc I got a really cheap deal for 2 nights so it was worth it for the money.

The room was not clean & there was still trash in one of the trash cans. More importantly there was no hot water. When I complained to the front desk they recommend that I reach out to the Front of House Operation's Manager, Molly Ellsworth, via phone. I left 3 voicemail messages with no return phone call. I strongly recommend against staying at the Ethan Allen Hotel.

We stayed at the worse possible time... during renovations otherwise, I'm sure it'd be lovlier.
