A local grocery store with excellent variety and ungodly high prices. Basically it's a giant convenience store. RIP your wallet. But the alternative is driving half an hour to a real store.

The store is lacking in many areas. I just left there the woman working self checkout is rude . I live down the street but usually drive 12 miles to Big Y . Go to SS IN A PINCH PLEASE BE ONE OF THE STORES THAT CLOSE BRING IN BIG Y OR SHOPRITE ☹️

Love this place except the produce section is always lacking. For that last two months it's always empty. Yet Big Y in GB always stocked & full. Anybody understand why that is? Not product issues, if it were the other stores would be the same.

I love this store. We live in a small town and our gorocery store is super expensive. This S & S is about 20 miles from our home and well worth the drive. The produce is twice the size and half the price of the store we have. Everything is better in this store, especially the meat and huge cheese section. Saves me so much money!

Have been shopping here for three years now. It is perhaps the most depressing supermarket I have ever experienced. Oftentimes, the shelves are bare, especially the fresh fruit and vegetable section. They should just close already and let a real market move in to that prime space/location.

A great shopping experience, but tonight the cashier Rebecka was especially friendly! Efficient service with a smile! Thank you! She also reminded me to use my rewards points next time I shop or to get gas, which I really appreciate.

I stopped in stop and shop canaan store today to exchange a blue rino propane tank. When i arrived there was a gentle man with three tanks and the service desk person just just came out to help him. I set my empty outside and told her i needed a tank and was going in to pay for it. Once inside i had trouble finding help. Seemed no one at the registers knew how to charge for a tank. They said i needed to go to the service desk, but she was outside. When she came back, she seened pissed, apparently she was late for her break. She snapped at me that she left my tank sitting out, cause she was not going back out! I payed, thanked her and as i walked away she reminded me it was where i put the empty, if its still there! I get so tired of the nasty arrogant people. I also must say the propane was way cheaper at carr hardware. 24 and change at stop and shop, 19.99 at carr, and that carr tank sure seemed alot heaver than the blue rino tank. Carr also had friendly service. So save your frustration, and head to carr.

For a more rural town I expected a cleaner more organized store. The store is poorly designed and frozen foods are in the wrong place in my opinion. I stopped here because it was on the way home and easier to stop there on my way back home.The selection was decent prices are the usual for a stop and shop. Also I used self checkout and the associate was a little over zealous. They were kind but I didn’t need help and felt like I was being watched.I would come back in an emergency but they could really use some reorganization and updating the look.
