They refused to exchange my cash for a roll of quarters. The staff requested an ID and said that I had to be a member. What? You're a bank! I went over to PNC and it was no problem there. Very strange interaction.

I was just trying to deposit my paycheck, and that did work out. Only problem was the staff... I dog from Romeo's Dog Bar escaped and began to maul my face and the staff DIDN'T EVEN CALL THE POLICE. I had to fight it off myself but I did at least get my paycheck deposited.

Horrible. Don't put your money here. Awful customer service. Don't answer the phones. I've been locked out of my account for 2 days and have sat on hold for a cumulative 3 hours with 0 answer on their end. At one point their customer service phone number said it was disconnected. Not what you want to hear from the bank holding your primary checking.

Worst Customer Service Ever!! Went in to exchange small bills for larger ones. Because I was not a member of their bank, they would not exchange cash with me! I’m sorry… this is a bank, correct? It has cash available, right? I can certainly get cash from their ATM. What has the world come to???

This bank is not interested in customers...just profits. I am unemployed and a scheduled payment came through my account and they paid 20 overdraft. I was charged 35 fee and then 12 dollars a day for over a week because the balance remained negative. I called to close my account so I would not have the bank rob me of 12 dollars a day..because I did not have the money to get the account to zero. I was told that they could not close the account so I will be charged 12 dollars a day for the remainder of 30 days and then they will automatically close the account. This is wrong. Just because it's legal does not make it right. Go find a different bank. This one is immoral.

Don’t let the hometown look fool you. They actually refused to make change for me today. All I asked for was some smaller bills. Nope. They said they might “run out of cash.” Pathetic. They’re a BANK.

New bank app is horrible!Unable to open new account online using their app. Lots of info to enter and it keeps timing me out before I finish it. No way to contact by email anyone at this bank either. It must be a really old fashioned bank without an updated website or app that works. Boo!

I had an issue with fraudulent use of my debit card. When I called to let someone know if the issue, I was told that nothing could be done except to deactivate the card and send a new one. This was described to me as optional. I told the customer service rep to NOT do that, as it is my only card and the only way to access my money. They deactivated my card anyway, without my consent and WITHOUT TELLING ME. I called back the next day because my card was not working and was told that it was too late, that there was absolutely nothing anyone I spoke to could do for me. I live in a state that GWB does not have a location in. The new card took more than a week to arrive. During this time I was unable to purchase groceries and other essentials, unable to pay for transportation to my workplace, unable to pay for rent/utilities, etc. This is absolutely unacceptable treatment and I am appalled and infuriated by how GWB has handled my situation. I am a 19 year old woman living 10 hours away from any family and I was forced to beg my coworkers for help because of the incompetency of my bank. The policy that forced my card to be deactivated after my report does nothing but DISCOURAGE CUSTOMERS FROM REPORTING FRAUD!! Whoever came up with it should be ashamed. GWB has no respect or compassion for those who use their services. I can't believe the complete lack of empathy I met from every customer service rep I spoke with as I tried to find someone who would help me. I think that this was handled in the worst way imaginable and as soon as I am able I will be closing my accounts with GWB and switching to a competitor.

The greatest customer service. I'm not a customer but bring a friend in often. The bank manager, Patrick, is so personable and helpful, and always takes time to talk with her. Totally impressed with everyone in the bank.

My Mom has been with this bank over 20 years. Yesterday she called in to check on her account and asked if her deposit showed it was pending, Patrick told her he couldnt see into the future. Why is that kind of customer service ok from the Manager?!?

After banking with a few major banks for over 20 years I opened a small account with Great Western, hoping not to see how fast I would regret it . I am happy to say that after having the account for two years with no dissatisfaction, I moved my business accounts over and I am contemplating going through this bank for my next mortgage! It's not very often that you can give a rave review about a bank, but this one has a hometown feel to it with friendly people and personal service.
