If it weren't for the wonderful front desk staff, this place would be a complete nightmare. I don't think I've ever worked with less caring vets in my life. Being a professional horse person, I've had to deal with many vets and this place takes the cake..they first made us wait for 2 hours then the financing was a joke. Once they got their money they made us wait an additional 4 hours for results. My opinion, go anywhere but this place

I have mixed feelings/results with this company. On one hand they help with moving my four legged kid to the rainbow bridge. While on the other hand, I brought her there prior to that decision. The doctor was kind of a jerk due to the way that I wouldn't let them tell me what my pup was going to have done without the pricing and what each procedure would do to her and how it would affect her. I have not seen that much eye rolling at one doctor's appointment; I found the situation hilarious b/c I knew not many had ever tested the doctor like this and to see them sweat due to them not being able to control the situation and in the end; they have to become better with their bedside manner. When someone can get proper treatment and betterment of themselves; it's a win/win

I brought my dog in for an echo and felt like he was well taken care of. Cardiologist Dr. Martin thoroughly explained what was going on with his heart, gave me a couple treatment options, and explained why she recommended the medications she did and how they would affect him and his heart. My appointment was several months ago, but I had to write a review after speaking with Olivia today about my dog's rising medication costs. She really helped me out by approving a higher mg I'll be able to easily split up for my boy. A few minutes after we hung up, she called me back to let me know she did further research and found that particular medication more affordable on a different prescription website. If you're reading this because you're going through hard stuff with your baby, I'm sorry you're going though it, but I would recommend this place with no reservations. I feel like they really care about dogs here, which lately I've found to be a rarity.

Took my dog to the ER because he wasn't feeling well and waited for 2.5 hours before I got any advice from the doctor, who wasn't much help anyways. Going somewhere else next time.

Our pup recently had an emergency situation and we took them to VRCC. Not only do we know folks who currently work there but also who previously have worked there and we truly believe in this staff. I'm certain that if it weren't for this team our pup would not be alive today. Thank you VRCC!

This vet gave me a guilt trip when I Had to put my cat to sleep. The last time I had to put an animal to sleep, years ago, we had a nice family room environment to enjoy our last time together. With this clinic, I was put in a sterile room and then when the time came, my experience was quick and didn't give is much time. The VCA clinic i went to last time didn't put my other animal to sleep so quickly, they did it in steps. I also got a memorial of a paw print. This time, I didn't get anything to remember me baby girl. This is a horrible place to go to if you know your fur baby is suffering and you have to put them up sleep.

Terrible business accounting. Our cat passed away suddenly in June of this year. My husband brought her in at 3am. And chose communal cremation. He paid onsite. We picked up the remains a week later. Fast forward to December. 6 months later we receive a bill for $147 from a debt collector. We never received any bill up to that point. We called to ask what happened and we're spoken down to and we're told we should have been told when we picked up the remains. That never happen. Then we're told well maybe we couldn't pay at the time. Very demeaning for that accusation. We paid immediately of course. And asked for an invoice and when we got it the bill that went to collections was actually a double bill for a private cremation. They switched to a private without asking us. So not only did they send to a bill collector without previous notice it was for a bill that should have never been charged. We had to call back for a refund and then they admitted their mistake. How can a business 1) send a bill to collections without sending a bill previously. 2) charged twice for 2 different creations 3) opted to charge us for a higher cremation without our authorization 4) treated us so poorly and couldn't even provide an apology

Beware of this business! We took our dog here on Thanksgiving for nausea and vomiting. The vet tech examined her in the waiting room by the front door then took her back to an exam room. We weren't allowed to go back with her. The vet came out and introduced himself as Dr. "Pete". He told us he hadn't seen our dog yet but that she was very sick. He said she will need to be admitted and it will be around $3,000 but he'd go get us a complete estimate. A few minutes later the tech came out with an estimate of $3,900-5,750!!!! I said absolutely not. She got the vet. We still don't know if the vet had even seen our dog yet. He came out and literally said "well when I told you $3,000 you didn't balk". What???? I told him to give her IV fluids and an antibiotic and anti nausea and I'd take her to our vet in the morning. He then said I can't guarantee she'll be ok. Of note, she's had this before and that's what my vet did and she was fine. He was not as friendly as he was when we first talked. We got the bill and it was $470! When I looked it over there was a coded charge that I didn't understand and when I asked about it I was told it was 12 cans of special food! No one asked me if I wanted or needed this. Just charged me for it. I will never go back there. Sad, we've always loved this place and have always thought they were very fair. Not anymore!

I am super disappointed with how VRCC handled my dog's situation. I've been using VRCC for years anytime my dog suffers an emergency situation. I've paid a significant amount of money for prior back surgeries for my dachshund. I recently had to bring my dog in when she collapsed and couldn't walk. The suggestions were another surgery (which is a long hard recovery and not to mention expensive) or ultimately "make a tougher decision". It broke my heart that there were no other options suggested like acupuncture, cold laser, water therapy, etc. I just want people to know that there are other options. Don't feel obligated to make a serious decision like that.

The staff was absolutely amazing. Caring, compassionate, understanding, and professional. Dr. Emily Brings sent a heart warming sympathy card which was very thoughtful and kind. Thank you for being there for our kitty. Our next rescue kitty has a great doctor and staff waiting for her at VRCC. Kevin, Jacki, and Meyoko Ono

If I could give negative stars I would DO NOT EVER GO to the vccr for any type of emergency for pets We attempted to reach out to 3 other emergency vets that were open on a Sunday in the Littleton in Lakewood area... All of them were understaffed, and could not take any more patients and we were referred To vccr because they were the ONLY vet that was open and could accept new patients All the front desk employees were extremely rude and didn't take our concerns seriously. THANK GOD FOR LONE ROCK vet !!!!!!!!! They diagnosed our dog almost instantly after we had paid thousands of dollars to this emergency vet for zero answers and we and our dog was treated so poorly They accused myself and my husband of multiple times of our dog getting in to prescription drugs or Marajuana. This is not our first rodeo we know what happens when your dog gets into marijuana. This is Colorado But They continue to pressure us and tell us that's what was going on when in actuality, they were 100% wrong. He was suffering from a pancreatic attack. In which our local vet diagnosed WITHOUT a ultrasound or blood test or x-rays. Our pet had to get a sub dermal hydration pack, and by the time we got into the car, it was leaking heavily... I went back inside and asked the front desk if this was normal. They reached out on the radio and asked an another technician and I got a roundabout answer of yes I believe so but if it continues come back, and if he throws up again, it is an emergency and you need to come back. The second we got back home after an hour drive our dog began to vomit again we called VCCR instantly, and again another roundabout answer of if you want to bring him in, you can if you want to. When previously we were told it was an emergency. VCCR is taking advantage of pet owners that are in a bad situation. My local vet called me today to check on my dog because they just now received the medical records from the blood test and x-rays two weeks later.... I called VCCR and spoke to a manager, and she could not speak on anything that happened because "she has faith and her team".... Terrible experience will never recommend and will do everything in my power to make sure anybody and everybody I know will NEVER EVER Take their pet to VCCR. The manager straight lied to me when I asked why my local vet ( Lone rock ) didn't get the medical records ( blood and X-rays) until 2 weeks later stating they are uploaded that night...then explain why they just received them today -2+weeks later There is no excuse for taking advantage of people. Do better!!!!!! And to your team you have "faith in" ...... they obviously are not pet owners. DO BETTER AND BETTER HUMANS!!!!!!!!! FOR OUR PETS WHO CANT SPEAK Stop taking advantage of pet owners.

5 yrs ago this was an amazing place. The only reason we went back. Staff is still friendly and care for animals, but they should run away from this place It was sold to corporate. Everything is about money. doubled the price for same surgery . We have now spent over $7,000 on surgery, medication and restitching the site. They wrapped the leg to cover the wound. When we asked if we could have some extra gauze and bandaids to redress the wound we were told sorry we don't have extra. They can't give us $1 materials so we can tend to our pet! Just Wow! Please do not go here if it's not a fire need. I should have listened to the reviews and other vets not recommending VRCC

I called because my cat apparently had passed out, They said bring the cat in ....could not give me the address ...had to look it up. How do you work someplace and not know the address ??? I came down, brought my cat in wrapped in a blanket. Nobody was at the front desk. I waited. Waited ....waited ....Finally somebody showed up. She was on a headset, talking with somebody about the front door lock!!!! While I'm standing there with a dead cat on the desk. She never even acknowledge my presence..... I left. Went to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital on N. Wadsworth....They were awesome and would recommend them to any and all pet owners!!! you guys are the typical corporate owned bureaucracy loaded with incompetence, inefficiency and bloated fees!!

When my 13 y.o. cat, Tigger, arrived at the VRCC, he was on deaths door. We honestly weren't sure he would even make the 2.5 hour drive from Glenwood Springs. After struggling for 6 months to get a diagnosis or any real treatment for him by local veterinarians, he took a nosedive, and we rushed him to the VRCC, praying he would survive. The doctors and staff at this establishment are absolutely incredible. Knowledgeable, kind, reliable and patient. They earned our trust, and did absolutely everything they could to help our sweet boy. They allowed us to visit Tigger 3 times a day while he was in critical care. They managed to stabilize him, get him eating, walking and purring again! Although grim, they were able to give us a diagnosis, put together a treatment plan and medications to administer at home. Given his prognosis, we don't know how much time we have left with Tigger, but thanks to the amazing staff at the VRCC, we feel so grateful that we have any time at all. I would give them twice as many stars if I could. Thank you VRCC, for saving Tiggers life and allowing us to fill his golden years with love and comfort.
