The black man who works self checkout in the evenings is absolutely terrible. Every time I come to this store in the evening and use self checkout he always makes up his own rules about how it has to be done and conveniently every time he says "yep my manager just told me." When I visit during the day, the self checkout staff are always kind, let me check out, and tell me to have a nice day. This man is always "you have to use the hand scanner," "you have to use 2 carts and pack the groceries in the second cart," "you know you can pack your own bags if you go to a regular checkout line." He literally spends the entire time complaining to me while I ignore him. The daytime self checkout people are great, and I don't understand what this man's problem is.

UPDATE (from 5 stars to 3)
Wow, what a negative change. Very narrow aisles with displays partially blocking them.
Way too much stuff, way too many people, parking lot too full.
Fortunately there was a sufficient number of checkers and we only waited behind two others checking out because of Memorial Day Weekend, but many times there are only 1 or 2 checkers.
UPDATE:
Great store. Kept clean and well-stocked. Still have the fuel points which add up pretty quick.
ORIGINAL:
Always clean, always stocked. Rewards program is fabulous. Gas station adjacent to the store.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever used in my whole life, so slow, the people have no common sense, I take two different strengths of the same medication and they only filled one and didn’t tell me that so when I got two bottles of pills I assumed they were different strengths and not just two bottles of the same pills, because why would you just fill one and not the other, so I ended up taking the wrong dosage unknowingly
They are so slow I’ve had to back out of the pharmacy drive thru twice, I don’t even use it anymore because it’s not like it’s any quicker.
Walmart is way faster and I only switched to king soopers cause it was closer at first but at this point I’ll gladly drive to Walmart just so I know my stuff isn’t going to take over an hour to get filled. Walmart most of the time it’s 15 minutes or less to get your prescription filled and they have the pharmacist available and they ask always if you have questions for them. This place is dookie

I will never shop at that store anymore. Poor service, vegetables all worn out with bugs on it (they advertised on the bag washed and ready to eat), store manager Dana B screaming on other customers with no reason. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE AT ALL (Briargate and Union corner in Colorado Springs).

Horrible store! Produce old and over priced! If something is on sale, check the expiration dates! Expired items on shelf! I pointed that out and instead of a thank you, the item was grabbed out of my hand! Very unhappy employees! Deli service employees act like they’re doing you a favor! Good job Kings, screening employees..wasn’t like that several years ago!

I can’t say ENOUGH about the incredible service I have experienced/received at this King Soopers!! It far stands out as THE BEST (over any other King Soopers here in town- and I’ve been to almost all of them, between the Springs and Monument).
I would ESPECIALLY like to thank Patrick. Two years ago, I had foot surgery and he gladly offered to help push my cart to the parking lot for me. He even helped load up my car. I’ve gone to many stores after different surgeries, without ANYONE offering to help- EVER!!!
Then today, I accidentally left an item at self checkout (as my hands were full) and I did not bring a bag in. It was one of those times you go in for one thing and come out with WAY too many ? . Go figure, I threw away my receipt as I walked out (oops). When I got home, I realized I had left it at self checkout.
I went back to the store later this evening and explained the situation. The staff was INCREDIBLY helpful in looking through their logs at the service desk to help me track it down. Despite not finding anything in their logs (and no receipt on my part), Patrick recognized me as a regular and made sure I was taken care of.
I have NEVER had a clerk (not sure his position in the store) who has ALWAYS gone out of his way to ensure the highest level of customer service. Not only does he go above and beyond, he always does it with a smile. Patrick will always greet you with kindness and warmth.
Thank you for Patrick, for all you do and for showing genuine and caring people still exist.

I want to spotlight Ariel at the King Soopers Bakery counter this morning. She made my day! We have a couple of teenagers that sometimes need a little extra motivation and encouragement to get going in the morning - they leave the house just after 6am for a busy day.
I like to grab some donuts as this "edible encouragement", only the trouble is that King Soopers opens at 6am and these kids need to leave the house by 6:15. The freshly-made donuts are always delicious, but sometimes they're not available to customers right as the store opens. Some bakery employees let them trickle out over the next 15 minutes or so, which means I can't buy them in time to get them home to the teens before they leave.
Today Ariel was a rockstar! Where in the past some employees have told me to wait until the donuts are brought out. Today, Ariel engaged me, offered to help by filling a box of a dozen donuts however I'd like. The donuts were fresh and ready to go but just hadn't been brought out for customers yet.
This made my day! This made the day of three teens as well today, one of whom was a birthday girl and who I wanted to surprise with this donut treat.
Thank you to Ariel who was engaging and looking for ways to help get me what I was shopping for on my timetable instead of asking me to wait for her timetable to make the fresh and ready donuts available for customers.
MUCH APPRECIATED, Ariel!

So much selection, nice deli and fresh produce. Parking was good, the store wasn’t over crowded and everyone was friendly.

King soopers is the best grocery store chain in Colorado Springs. However, like all supermarkets, inflation is REAL. At least there isn't tax on food.... yet.
