I stopped shopping at GW years ago when they raised their prices. But, I recently moved and there aren't many thrift stores at my new location. I decided to give GW another try. I've been to several since I moved, and this one has been my favorite. The people who work here are helpful and kind. Except for today. I was sitting on a chair next to a sofa with a cart full of clothes. I took the clothes from the cart and started to separate them on the sofa into piles of definitely buying and a maybe pile. As I checked the clothes for damages, an older lady employee was picking up the toy section, and I assume she was angry with the mess she was picking up. When she suddenly and without any reason turned to me and saw a few items of clothing on the sofa that I was still going through. She Angrily said, "Oh no, what's that on the sofa? Is that yours?" I said yes, they're mine. She asked again if they were mine. Again, I said yes. Then she very angrily said, "Well, don't leave them there, put them back where you got them!" I said I always do. She said people just leave stuff everywhere. I told her, "Not me, I don't do that." Then she walked away, mumbling something under her breath. That lady, though elderly herself, needs training. If she was worried about me causing her more work to do she could have come up to me and politely in a nicer tone asked me to please return the merchandise to it's rightful place instead of yelling at me from the toy section more than 6 feet away. That ruined my whole visit to this GW. I couldn't believe how nasty she was to me without any reason. I'm not a child nor an idiot for her to treat me that way. I could understand had I been walking away from the area and leaving items there for someone else to pick up, but I never do that. I always take the items back to where I got them. Not only do I do that, but I put clothes back on hangers that other people just toss over the racks or drop on the floor. I take the hangers off the clothes that I'm buying and go to the register and put them on the rack the cashier has there. I am almost 70 years old. How dare her treat a customer like that. She has anger issues, She has no right to speak to anyone like that. I would have asked for a manager when I checked out, but I forgot to.

Rude employee, I came to donate some stuff which was like bags of clothes and house decor. The guy kept asking me what’s inside the bag like 10 times, I kept repeating myself just clothes and house decor. He kept doubting me and almost didn’t want to take the stuff I brought.

5 stars for their donation center. Attendants are always kind and helpful. Drop-offs are super easy. I just back in to the spot facing the donation doorway and unload my car. I never have any issues.

It is so smart to buy some thing that has already been manufactured and shipped rather than new manufactured goods so help the planet and help your neighborhood Goodwill store and you can find some really great quality stuff some with the tags on!

I've been going here for 15 years and the employees there and at most goodwills in general make the experience so unpleasant the rudest customer service employees hands down. but the last two time I went to the Whittier goodwill I believe it was the new store manager, SCOUT, ppl was being so difficult and rude to the employees and she diffused every situation so calmly and politely i even the vibes in the store felt lighter when I walked in I come up on good finds there so I'm happy they finally got their shit together

I just just dropped off a total gym and Rider Squat machine at the Whittier branch. I called first to make sure they would take it and the woman on the phone said “Yes. Donations closes at 6pm”. …So I folded it both machines up carried them down stairs put them in my car and drive the 5 miles to get there - only to be harassed at the door. The guy said he didn’t think he could accept, then the manager came over and said “yah, we won’t accept that”. Boy, I was miffed! They finally agreed to take it, but save yourself a headache, take you donations to Savers. Apparently Goodwill has too many donations.

Great place to shop, friendly staff. I just wish they would open the changing rooms so you can try on clothes. I have to buy a pile of clothes for my daughter and hope they fit. Covid is over ask your friends at Target . Open your changing rooms.

Stopped by today to drop off a bag of clothes for donation. I know many goodwill locations have the donation center in the back of the store, but for this location, the donation center was in the front right by the entrance (separate door). I stopped by around 5:30 PM and the donation bins were about half full so I was happy there was still space for my items. I shopped around the store afterwards. Goodwill is usually a hit or miss for me, but I was surprised I found a few items today. Items I purchased today: Women Denim Jacket - $11.99 Men's T shirt - $5.99 Brand new puzzle - $5.99 Men's shorts - $6.99 To my surprise, I found an Essential brand men's shorts, which I've never seen at a Goodwill. I would say some items are overpriced, but just have to pick and choose which ones are worth it. From my understanding, the Orange County and Los Angeles County locations are different. For OC, you can try on clothes, but there are NO exchanges. For LA, you cannot try on clothes (from the stores I've been to), but you have 60 days to exchange for a different item if you change your mind. This location was fairly organized when I came. They were rolling out "new" items and the cashier encouraged customers to check them out. They have 50% off a different color tag item each day, but I rarely find items in those colors.

There a girl named (scot) she was really rude. I was there for 2 hours picking on clothes once’s we got to the register, this lady (scot) didn’t want to charge us because she had doubt that we were changing tags on the clothes and at the end of the day we couldn’t get nothing we wasted our time just because this women thought bad about us!

I can see that there is a common vein here with other reviews as well. Their donation policies are arbitrary and picky. I was donating some cameras and camera equipment and the guy in the donation area was watching me the entire time. I dropped off six cameras and some lights and he just sits there looking at the 1/3rd full donation bin and then says, "hmmmm... nah. That's too much, take some of those back" what the hell? Is this now a pawn shop that I don't get paid for?? I was forced to load back up some of my equipment and another guy goes in there and starts loading up other home goods and electronics like it was nothing, in the same bin! Alright then. Now I have a car still half loaded with stuff I can't donate because the guy decided "that was enough, take it back". I'll be taking my donations to Savers now. They're farther away but always give me no haste at all. They don't have arbitrary rules that come and go as the donations come in. At the very least: Make your donation policies clear, consistent and upfront. If it needs to be a big sign that says "5 items max person" do it and stick with it. There was no signage about any of this or for that matter what is and is not accepted (which I didn't have a problem with but others may). Just make it clear and consistent. It's an easy task that takes little effort. Hell, there's even an Office Depot and Kinkos right around the corner. Get some white project board and a black sharpie and write it out by hand and keep it hung there for weeks/months in big, bold, easy to read words until patrons get the picture. There's none of that. If it's a hard space requirement, maybe you might need to look into investing in more space, rent out a holler if you need to put in the back of the store. It's clear that many people are running into the same problem, and instead of making everything arbitrary and difficult to do, maybe spend the money you get from your free stuff in invest in more space or a better system to take care of this. A lot of the time people are donating, because if they're either moving and/or clearing out space and they need to get on with their day. We don't have time for people nitpicking at what we can, and cannot give them because of some mystery list that only Goodwill knows. Thanks Goodwill Pawn Shops of Southern California. Driving out to Savers now. Thanks for wasting my time. P.S. your store is *filthy* dirtiest and most depressing Goodwill I've been inside of in recent memory, but whatever. Run it the way you want I guess.

Came here to drop some goods off. Was fairly straightforward. Make sure to go to the door on the right where it has the donation section, and not the main door.

Had a great experience tonight! Staff was attentive as well as kind. The person who rang me up, Zen (please forgive me of I spelled that wrong), was so sweet and extremely kind (: Didn't expect such a great experience later at night. Would recommend!
