This review is really overdue. I brought my 13 year old pup here back in February of 2023 because she had some kind of swelling in her private area. I had previously taken her to an ER where they said it may be from a UTI so she was treated for one. However, it never went away. So, I brought her to this location because it was the only one with same day appointments available. I am so glad I brought her here because Dr. Seung-Mi Lee felt the area and actually said it was a tumor (which it was). I was shocked at first since the ER dr had not mentioned any suspicion of it being a tumor. Anyways, thanks to Dr. Seung-Mi Lee, I was able to find a doctor asap to remove the tumor. Unfortunately my baby dog passed away last month but I am so grateful that I brought her here. I actually wish I had brought her in sooner instead of going to that ER. The staff and techs here are also super friendly. Everything was on time and organized.

I had a bad experience at the Banfield hospital today. I checked into the appointment early, spent 20 minutes at the counter with the nurse trying to fill in information that could have been done more easily through email. She did not even know my dog's breed but tried to suggest dog food to me. Then she went on to talk about how a grain-free diet is related to enlarged hearts and advocated for the brand Science Hill. When I questioned the validity of her claim and suggested that a confounding variable (legume) might be responsible for the enlarged heart, she dismissed the statement.I checked into the room 10 minutes after the appointment time, and I felt like my time was not spent listening to her talking about what I already know, but rather, I was there to obtain data and diagnostics about my dog.She later educated me about influenza, which I am well aware of. When I asked for a solution, she initially said there is none, but then contradicted herself by mentioning an influenza vaccine. I agreed to the vaccine and later found out there are boosters, meaning more money and visits than what I initially signed up for. In this incident, she withheld information I needed to know. After they took my dog, Bambi, they said they would call me when it was done. I waited for more than an hour and 35 minutes with no call. I went back to check, and she admitted they were done long ago and were just keeping my dog there to watch. I can watch and monitor the dog; I didn't pay you to play with my dog. When checking out the dog, she did not give me any feedback from the doctor. I had to call in and speak to three different people, be placed on hold for 15 minutes before I could speak to a doctor (not even the one who saw my pet) about the information I requested. Overall, I felt like the place is unprofessional and inefficient because of my experience with this nurse. She did not know how to read the room or do her job as a professional.

I have been coming here since 2017, never had a problem. I have always been patient whether it is waiting hours to pick up my pet or 30+ minutes in line to check in because I understand they are understaffed and overworked, but today's experience was enough. I went in today because I needed insurance document to be signed by the vet at 4pm. The front desk was not only condescending and rude, she also told me the vet left early because they finished seeing all their appointments... so why are the hours until 6pm? They offer walk in all the time, I don't understand why the vet left early. . I called the clinic at 5pm and the phone says they are closed. This is not how you run a veterinarian business. Unprofessional and unreliable, I have no one to reach out to for assistance with this urgent insurance document. HIGHLY disappointed is an understatement.

Check in takes too long. There should be a more efficient way to get animals and their owners in to get help. It is stressful enough as it is. I've been in line for 20 minutes!! Still two people ahead of us

Avoid this place at all costs. They only care about pushing unnecessary procedures on your pet, have long wait times despite an appointment, and have unsanitary conditions. My cat had green diarrhea and vomiting. They wanted to run blood, fecal, and snap tests, and X-rays, among other things which totaled more than $1,000. I asked if he could just be prescribed medication for diarrhea or parasites since I'm certain he didn't digest any foreign objects that would warrant X-rays, and must have just eaten a bug. They said no and insisted on the blood test $227 and going from there. Since this was the only vet that could see me same day and I was concerned about my cat's health, I reluctantly agreed. They said it's typical to drop off pets but I don't live in the area and had to wait around instead. I stayed in the room for the physical and blood extraction and was told the blood test would take roughly 15 minutes, during which they kept my cat in their kennels. Well 5 hours pass and they finally call me to say that everything is normal and they'd just prescribe antibiotics and anti-diarrhea medicine. They also recommended subcutaneous fluids, which they said shouldn't take long. Welp, I waited another 2 and 1/2 hours, for a total of 7&1/2 hours!! So very unacceptable. When checking out, they wanted to charge $17 for one of the medications when it was literally $.54 cents on Chewy.com, but at least they were willing to price match. Lastly, it's been two days since (enough for the incubation period) and now my cat is showing signs of an upper respiratory infection, which he must've gotten waiting for that long in their kennels. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND THOUSANDS AND HOURS OF YOUR TIME ONLY TO HAVE YOUR PET GET FURTHER INFECTIONS.

This pet hospital and Banfield practices outright fraud. Throughout the last year, every time I have made an appointment has canceled said appointment at the end of the day the day before the appointment. They then attempt to "make up" by scheduling appointments online without consulting me on days that I cannot be there. This is deliberate and unethical behavior designed not provide me with services that I have purchased with my pet insurance. Crooks.

It’s like trying to call the White House. Either no answer or you’re on hold forever. Made an appointment for dental cleaning for my dog and for annual check up the appointment given was over a month later. Waited all that time but they called a day before and canceled.

Absolutely worst animal hospital that I ever met! My dog hurts her knee and I took her there. They quoted me crazy which I decided to see another clinic. When I pick her up, the technician let her walk by herself and very fast! Damm!!! They charge everything even a diapper. Keep away from them!

About 3 Saturdays ago, I tried calling Banfield at S. Azusa. It was at 8 am and I again got the auto voice response that they are still closed. Two hours after, the same auto voice response.I called a different Banfield (Eastland Mall in West Covina) and call was immediately picked up. The receptionist even offered to help by calling the Banfield at S. Azusa but I guess she also couldn't reach them so she offered to help from their facility. The only reason why I am still with S. Azusa is the shorter drive from my home compared to Eastland mall. Eastland mall has helped us twice already during times Banfield S.Azusa has ref auto voicemail that they are closed, when they are very much open (calls within their business hours). The Banfield in Eastland Mall has great customer service practices.Today, our fur baby has an 8:15 appointment. My hubby and daughter was in Banfield S. Azusa 15 prior and at 8:41 am they called informing me they are still in line at the reception counter waiting to be received or attended to. It's too bad that their location close to our home doesn't help us.My daughter has asked us to move to Banfield Eastland mall despite the longer drive.

I just rated this but this is a picture of my Benji who is in pet heaven now. And Banfield helped me make a tough decision and he’s no longer in pain.

Every single time I'm in line waiting to be called, they never acknowledge me. The other day I had an appt at 11am, got there 10 minutes before, got in line and the blonde lady was helping someone and she finished helping them and she went to the back and never said anything to me. I kept waiting for her to come out and she never came back out. Then I moved to the other line and waited about 20 min until I was helped. The place is great for pets but the girls in the front are horrible with customer service.

Glad I am not coming here again and didn't go through with my appointment. What is the point of getting an appointment time if it is only drop off appointments and waiting is 2 hours regardless for a simple checkup and puppy shots. Just to get helped, I was waiting for 20 mins and to even finish the check in process was another 20. We don't get to speak to the doctors. We can't go in to see exactly what they're doing. The check in review process is also the exact same info I filed online, so what is the point? When I finally get to check in, the girl had a ear screeching passive tone and immediately I knew I didn't want to leave my puppy there. Not to mention how unprofessional it is to have side conversations ABOUT my puppy right in front of me. Banfield promotes a "free first visit coupon" that can either be on the phone or printed. They only accept printed. Vets are supposed to instill trust, especially if you are only doing drop offs. This place lacks it severely

Took my dog here for a cough. He was prescribed 3 medications and was told to check back after 24 hrs of medication. After 24 hrs he stopped eating and drinking, his breathing became very labored. I took him first thing in the morning at 7. They first told me dr wouldn't be in till 8, told them I'd wait , then they said Dr wouldn't be in until 9. They wouldn't check him in. They wanted me to take him elsewhere. I knew he wasn't doing well, but instead of trying to help him. They didn't want me to stay. Made me call around for emergency vet, and find another location. They had no trouble charging me over $1000 for first visit, but when I really needed help, they did not help at all. I will never trust Banfield with my dogs ever again. They made one of the worst days of my life, even harder. They truly did not care.
