I joined The Bar Method Walnut Creek last week, as I moved here from NYC. Everyone is so welcoming, warm and kind, I immediate felt so comfortable there. In class, the instructors know your name and provide corrections in real time. So happy I decided to join here. Cheers!

Great for early morning classes! I needed something that was easy to get to and had an early enough start time that I could go before work. Plenty of 6 AM & 7 AM classes M-F. Plenty of parking (at least at 6 am…)Class was great. Welcoming and supportive group with everyone being super nice and the instructor was clearly very familiar with everyone and gave encouragement and help by name.I’m pretty out of shape and I like that one can dial it up or down depending on one’s fitness level. The class was satisfying and I can see that there is a lot of room for my fitness to grow. Looking forward to coming back.

Encouraged by a friend to try barre, I signed up for the Bar Strength class at The Bar Method. Booking the class online was simple, and the studio sent me a couple of reminder emails to help prepare for the class ahead of time. Although the studio's location is somewhat removed from the core downtown area, parking was accessible and convenient. The studio itself was clean and professional-looking, and the team offered me a quick tour when I arrived.As this was my first time taking barre in a while, I was definitely the least skilled person in the class; however, Nina, the instructor helped me improve my posture and technique. The workout was difficult, and by the end of the class, I was already beginning to feel sore.While the classes are definitely an investment, I can see myself coming back to try some of the other barre classes to continue to improve my strength and technique.

I LOVE Bar Method - since 2008! There is no substitute and I have tried many work outs. This system really works to keep me in shape and look my best. Don’t think twice. Just do it and you will be transformed. It takes time, but all good things do.

The Bar Method has kept me strong for 15 years and on 2 coasts. It allows me to pursue other sports like skiing and pickleball without strain or injury. A couple of people have even asked if I'm a dancer because of my long, lean muscles and posture. I'm not a dancer. I just do the Bar Method classes!

Great instruction and convenient location. However, now that it's become more popular, I'd like to see more classes added to accomodate the increased membership.

Don't waste your time or your money. Shitty registration options (app or website). Poor communication, good luck if you want to get somebody to resolve time sensitive issues, class link didn't work. Go to the Dailey Method instead.

Fun and effective workouts!! Instructors are fun as well as being good about correcting your form and give you tips. The new slider exercises are really fun and effective ?I wish there was some sort of foundation class you could take to go over the form of the different movements at a slower pace. I used to go to a different location and they would do a preview of the moves they'd use in the upcoming class and help you with the form of you came 10 minutes early to class.

I love the bar method and this studio specifically! I've been going to this bar for 15 ish years. I stepped away once bc we joined a gym. I tried their barre and it was not good, they did not teach well and we not watching form. I came back, I missed the bar method. I tried a few other bars over the years, Travelling, with a friend,etc and just not as good. This group is very helpful and careful on form. Can't say enough!!

I have been a loyal member of this studio for over ten years. It's the best workout, and I've tried them all! Because of the Bar Method, I am stronger and leaner, but the mental boost is just as important to me. When I can't get to class, my stress level goes up. When I make it to a few classes per week, I am happier and healthier. Give it a try and you will see and feel the difference!

The Bar Method Walnut Creek studio has been my home workout spot for the last 10 years. I love this studio and community! Clients feel welcomed as soon as they step into the studio. You are greeted with warm smiles by the front desk staff and they even remember your name! You quickly feel like you are family at the Bar Method WC. The studio itself has everything you need to get ready before or after your workout, providing you with towels, lockers with keys, showers, deodorant, and two bathrooms. The workout studio itself is pristinely clean. There are weights of all sizes for what you need ranging from 1-8 pounds (usually I go for the 3's). Bar Method WC provides you with mats and even different sized smaller mats for modifications. You get a ball (these are often filled really tightly with air, making your inner thighs and glutes work even harder). You get a strap to stretch with and the most fun, newest addition of props - the slider! This is a new torture tool (in the best of ways! ! Used for a variety of exercises). Not only does this studio provide you with everything you need, but the workout is AMAZING. A full body workout and stretch routine is what you get in every class. All target muscles are worked, ranging from your abs, to your seat, to your calves and the areas all around your arms, back and shoulders - the list goes on! You always begin with a warm up routine, but the exercises within the warm up will vary pending on which class you select. There are a variety of classes, ranging from advanced move classes, 45 minute express classes, some of those express classes even have a luxurious 10 minute stretch at the end! Then there are the beautiful classic Bar Method hour classes. These are amazing, filled with stretching and because this is the OG class, you get a great taste of what it is like to stay in certain positions for a bit longer. All classes are paced well, whether you are a veteran client, or just taking your first couple of classes. The positions and stretches are simple to get into and the INSTRUCTORS ARE THE VERY BEST! They are kind, gentle, and will move you into the exact place you need to be. You would be surprised what minor adjustments will make you feel! This community is absolutely everything to me. You will not regret trying the workout. I guarantee you will LOVE the shake and the relaxing, uplifting feeling of powering through at the end. If you are lucky, you may even shake walking back to your car. Come join the BMWC family, the very best in all the land!

This is still my favorite work out ever! I have quite a collection of grippy socks to prove it. Yes, it's a boutique studio, but it is known for being one of the hardest workout using 2-3 lb. weights! I used to go to the San Ramon studio until it was sadly closed. Audrey and Chelsea who used to own the San Ramon studio also own the Walnut Creek and Oakland location. Today was their Open House (i.e., free community class). This was my first time back in a live class since lockdown, so I was a little hesitant, but I had to take advantage of a free class that one of my favorite instructors (Caitlin) was teaching. They do ask if you have been vaccinated. What I love the most is making sure how the instructors make sure everyone is working out safely. Some people might not like being called out to make corrections, but I get it because the purpose is to keep their students safe and injury free. There are modifications available which are helpful since there are moves I my body won't let me do. When I'm in class, there are large mirrors everywhere. It is intimidating, but I'm not thinking of it, it's easier to get into my zone once class starts and focus on how I'm doing. The workout is geared towards people of all shapes and sizes. That can be intimidating too if you are not familiar, but don't let it stop you from trying. Highlight: - The studio is kind of tricky to turn into, but once you enter, parking is easy. - Check in at the desk - Lockers are available - Two restrooms available with one gender neutral restroom. Parking in front. - Props are provided for you. - Towels now are placed on top of the mat and you will be provided one. - Merchandise is for sale (i.e., socks, clothing, etc.). I will admit, it is not easy for me to get here during the weekday due to my work schedule, but it might be worth a class pack to take the weekend classes.

This studio and classes are the best especially the 6am class and crew! I have limitations with my back, so it was always hard to find something I loved and that was possible but it all changed with bar method. I now workout normally 5 days a week and. The instructors are always giving me to tips to get in the best form or alternative exercises for my back. I have never been stronger thanks to this place. The studio is clean and the staff are simply delightful.
