Our stay was an absolute disaster. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by an unbearable odor. When we opened the balcony door to air it out, we were instantly swarmed by flies, as our room overlooked a garbage disposal area. The experience was so bad that we left the same day we arrived. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and unprofessional. While the manager was polite and offered possible solutions, he promised to follow up via email. It’s been over a week and a half, and we’ve received no response, further highlighting the lack of professionalism at this hotel. I would never recommend staying here.

Yeah right by the beach, which is great. Call me a spoiled but rooms are definitely small considering the prices. Lobby is small and only 1 elevator. But you could look away from the complaints if THERE WAS NO ROOF TOP LOUNGE. My main complaint is that being a guest here. Because of this rooftop lounge my complaints stands. Being a guests and having constant drunk people going in and out of the hotel is not something I’d want for my old mom to be exposed too. Coming in from dc . We should’ve looked at more review before booking this. Granted my and my brothers fault on that. Maybe the hotel should consider an alternative too this roof top lounge, maybe make it restaurant only so that you ain’t got college kids coming in and out get blasted.

Plan to make use of the amenities. Bikes, sunscreen, beach chairs, umbrellas and volleyballs are all provided. Continental breakfast is everything you need each morning. Eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, bagels and toast. Stays the same each day but it works. If deciding again, we would choose to stay in Santa Monica over Venice beach. Many restaurants, activities and shopping were in Santa Monica and we rode there each day. Great bike path along the beach. Be sure to catch a beach sunset.

Would be great to inform guests that the 6th floor means you'll be right beneath their roof top bar, where the music is constantly on from afternoon until 11pm. Additionally, the room wasn't clean at check in which was frustrating. Aside from that, it's a great location and breakfast is nice.

Had an amazing experience at Erwin. Staff is beyond friendly and are always available to help. Breakfast in the morning is perfect as a way to start your day. The location offers such a quick trip to the beach and they provide beach towels for you, which is a bonus. The High bar on the roof top is unbeatable ?
The overall experience is absolutely wonderful and would visit them again!!
Rooms: Cute and quiet rooms and daily cleaning services. Special thanks to Erwin hotel for keeping the rooms and the facility clean.
Nearby activities: So many activities I myself couldn't count as a visitor.
Safety: The hotel offers valet parking for the safety of your car. The hotel is a safe place with staff members always there to greet you and welcome you.
Walkability: Close distance to the beach is a winner! Close distance to the restaurants across the street to the Great White Restaurant.
Food & drinks: Breakfast bar in the mornings with a wide variety of food options. High bar on the rooftop offers a beautiful view of the city and of the beach. They make amazing drinks that will have you coming back for more.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Erwin, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Miguel & Brandon at the front desk. His accommodating nature, kindness, and complimentary demeanor immediately set the tone for a memorable stay. Miguel went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my visit was flawless, and his attention to detail truly stood out. Alongside Miguel, Brandon was equally impressive, offering outstanding service that made my stay even more enjoyable.
The room itself was a testament to modern elegance. The decor was both contemporary and inviting, with an amazing couch that provided the perfect spot for relaxation. Special touches throughout the room elevated the experience to new heights. The luxurious robes and monogrammed bags labeling tissue paper and the blow dryer were delightful surprises that added a personal touch. Even the wooden type door keys and door tags were a charming nod to classic hospitality.
The quaint patio attached to my room was an oasis of calm, offering a serene space to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening unwind. One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop bar. The panoramic views were simply breathtaking, providing an unparalleled vantage point to take in the beauty of the surroundings. The drinks were fantastic, crafted with precision and creativity. Keith, provided exceptional service, was nothing short of spectacular. His attentiveness was over the top; he thoughtfully provided a warm blanket and a touch light lamp, ensuring that even as the evening cooled, my comfort remained paramount.
In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Erwin was a remarkable experience that exceeded all expectations. The combination of superb service, attention to detail, and thoughtful amenities made it a standout choice. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a blend of modern luxury and personalized care. No, no, no: reservation made with possibility of cancellation, but when canceling I was told that this is no longer possible. Our arrival at 5 p.m.: we ask if we need to book for the roof top and we are told no. Same request for bikes for the next day, and still no. We are "offered" a bottle of wine to welcome us (which we will ultimately be charged $40 for without any explanation since we have since written 2 emails asking for explanations, and we have had no response!!!). When we arrived at 7:30 p.m. on the roof top, we were told that it was only by reservation because it was full... so we had to manage to find a restaurant.
During breakfast the next day, we ask the receptionist again if we need to reserve the bikes, and the answer is always “NO, we have enough”. At 10 a.m., we came to take possession of the bikes (3 adults, 1 child) and there were not enough bikes left... and we were told to go and rent some (at our own expense) behind the hotel. .. NO PROFESSIONALISM in this hotel, they only think about taking your money but the service is NON-EXISTENT! When I made my reservation, I relied on the reviews which were glowing, I wonder if they are really real.

The location is great, but the service has deteriorated.
As a paying customer you have to wait in line for the elevator so that the evening guests can go to the rooftop bar.
The lady at reception said succinctly: “You can take the stairs to the 6th floor”.
Very bold and disappointing

The hotel is of a good standard, nothing overly special about the rooms but not a bad place neither. For an adult family sharing a room the bathroom wasn’t overly private so that is something to keep in mind if you are travelling with someone you don’t know that well. The staff are all very friendly and approachable. The house keeping lady although she couldn’t speak a lot of English she did an amazing job keeping the room clean and she actually used chemicals to clean with which is better than you see in some better known hotels especially back home in Australia! The real gem of this place is having a rooftop bar that no other hotel seems to have in the area. The only negative is the area it is in, during the day it felt fine but at night it didn’t feel overly safe.

Nice room, nice view, perfect location, elevators aren't the greatest but aren't the worst either, and the room had a lil weed smell, but I would still stay here again, people should go outside and do their smoking business.
Walkability: About as good as you can get when it comes to walkability.

Noteworthy details: Hotel position is great, however it’s right underneath a roof bar that plays loud music. There is zero street parking unless you pay for valet or fight your own way through many parking lots by the hour. Room is well decorated but not perfectly clean. The views are decent if you are into Venice beach boardwalk and all the movida that comes with it!
Recommended for short trip on beautiful Venice!

I didn't sleep at the hotel, I've been here for the rooftop and that's why I put 3 stars. The girl hosting customers are not customers friendly. She doesn't smile (her name is Asania) we've made a reservation 3 days ago and we've been very specific about which table we wanted to have. When we arrived the table was taken and she said they just arrived. Well OK. But after 10 minutes they left (with their drink empty) so we asked again for THIS table but No.. She decided a private party was on and we cannot had the table. (of course without a smile)
Hopefully we had a lovely waitress (Sara) Taking care of us, with blanket and kindness. Really lovely!
So it was nice but we won't come again
