Theres an employee who works here who is absolutely just terribly rude! He’s an older gentleman ( although he’s not a gentleman ) . He’s an older man. I run into him all the time and he’s always giving me the dirtiest of looks. Anytime I run into him and it’s a tight squeeze , I always say Hello and excuse me. He just shakes his head and just gives the dirtiest of looks! There was another occasion where he was off duty and shopping as a customer. My elderly Mother and I were in the self checkout lane and he just completely lost his cool and just started lashing out on us . He called us stupid and he said things like “ It isn’t that hard to use a self check out “ . Granted I have no idea what his issue was as we weren’t going slow. We were going just as fast as anyone else. I think he thought he could get away with talking to us like that because he wasn’t in Safeway Uniform but I instantly recognized him. There was another occasion after that where I seen him in Safeway Uniform lashing out on an elderly lady. Not sure his issue with elderly folks as he’s older himself or maybe he just has issues with Women? For the most part , all the employees here are nice and friendly and I don’t have any complaints but this guy , I can’t for the life of me understand why you guys keep this guy around? He’s made me so uncomfortable that I started giving all my business to Raleys and I shop alot so that is a big loss!

I placed custom cupcakes order in person yesterday, Saturday 6/1/24 noon time so I can pick up today, Sunday 6/2/24 at 4pm. I called two hours before pick up time only to find out that they DID NOT make my order and simply said that the order form may not have been placed correctly where it should be so that the baker can make them. How also interesting that the baker had left for the day already. Now I end up not having any cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party and it will be too late to order even for pick up early morning tomorrow. HOW FRUSTRATING and what’s worse is no apology was done. The person on the line said he has some that are on the shelves. I said the reason why I pre-ordered was because we wanted it customized according to my daughter’s favorite colors. Again, THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING! The bakery staff need improvement in taking orders and most of all ensuring that the order would have been made. How do you explain to a child that someone at the store messed up and that there will be no cupcakes?!

Worst Safeway I've ever been to. Impossible to get out and they close the bathroom to customers. Zero stars.

Update: still waiting on mega grocery merger. Will see if products and service decline. Still good location compared to the rest of vallejo safeways.

Placed an order for two cakes for a wedding 3 weeks in advance. A standard sheet cake with zero decor and a plain small cake with zero decor. Upon pickup, we were informed we would need to wait 20 more minutes for the sheet cake to be ready at 10:40 AM. And the small cake hadn't even been started. We had to choose a last minute premade cake. With so much advance notice, it should have been ready upon pickup and they damn near derailed a wedding.

Deli extremely understaffed. I was there waiting for 10 minutes only to be skipped in line and not helped. Was waiting for my sandwich and for some reason the worker Jose decided to help two other people and I was there first. He was hard at work and don’t blame him for losing track but this is unfair to the customer and to the employee. Came in early to get a lunch for work. Left late for work without a sandwich.

Nina Mike and Marianne of the pharmacy are so amazingly helpful. They know my whole family and are so friendly. Also a new guy that works I. The store named Reggie is so sweet. He helps me to my car anytime he sees me and always has a kind word.

I came in today as soon as they opened and I had bought stuff but then returned one item because I thought it would be free but when I came to return it derisee or whatever her name was she was rude. She started huffing and puffing because I returned one item and I paid with card and she returned my money with cash….. I used to work at Safeway so I know that you have to return it back to the card when the customer pays with a card. It was an unpleasant experience. Usually everyone is nice but I’ve never seen this lady before. Check your employees.

I always thought that this was the nicest location in Vallejo. Clean, large and modern store. Today I was disrespected by a cashier and a pretend manager. I attempted to purchase gift cards and groceries with a credit card and was told that I needed to use cash or debit card. I mentioned that I've been buying gift cards for 6 years now and never had a problem and I've even spent $2000 at once. I received a rude look and was told that cannot be (I'm making it up). I asked for a manager and they called someone and told me they were at lunch and unavailable. I had then remove the cards from my purchase and left. I called the store from my car and asked for a manager. The person that answered claimed she was a manager (I called an hour after and the other person said she wasn't a manager). This "manager" told me that the policy changed a month ago. I decided not to believe her. I immediately drove to another location and had no problems buying gift cards. I then called Corporate and told them what happened. They said that this policy was 100% not true. They apologized and said that Safeway should not do this to customers and will have a district manager call me. It is sad that one employee was rude, disrespectful and lied to me and basically called me a liar while another employee pretended to be a manager and told me an incorrect policy. Especially when I think highly of 99% of Safeway stores and my ecoeriences.
