“Karen is great! She worked with me to find a reasonable membership that works for me. The gym makes good use of its space and has a decent collection of machines, free weights, and open work areas.”

“Love that I can stay consistent with my workouts rain or shine! Also, even if I drag myself in completely unmotivated and tired, the coaches and the music ensure I have a great workout.”

“I dropped in a few times and did 23.2 at this gym! The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Warda was supportive and knowledgeable. I've been at CF for 12 years and have dropped in many gyms and this one was one of the best! Clean and lots of equipment.”

“I have nothing but spectacular things to say about this gym. I love coming here! The first thing to note is it is different from a regular commercial gym: it is a barbell club, meaning the movements are designed around the barbell, and this is primarily a training place for powerlifters and Olympic weightlifters who compete. It is an old school gym for the serious strength athlete, which also includes strongmen, body builders, and crossfitters. This is a USPA certified training and competition center as well and has held USPA competitions in the past. I believe one of the owners is a USPA director for California, but I could be wrong. Everything you want to train is available here, from combo racks for squats and bench press (ER Equipment), deadlift platforms and jacks, full and half power racks, and a monolift. There are eight total places to squat, nine places to bench, and six places to deadlift. There is a ton of equipment for accessories: reverse hyperextension GHD (glute-hamstring developer) glute drive vertical leg press bi-later and regular 45-degree leg presses hack squat power squat belt squat iso-lateral row iso-lateral pulldown iso-lateral high row iso-lateral shoulder press bi-lateral wide chess press multi-flex seated barbell shoulder press incline press rack free weight chin/dip machine supported T-bar two large cable-crossover machines with pulldown and row stations They also have all the isolation machines like, a prone and seated leg curls, standing and seated calf raises leg extension, hip adductor and abductor, sissy squat machine, French curl (triceps extension), standing and seated preacher curls, pec fly/rear deltoid, etc. There is too much to mention. And let's not forget the specialty bars and equipment: Ivanko competition discs, competition collars (power, squat, and deadlift bars: Rogue and Texas), wagon wheels, SSB bars, transformer bars, large Swiss bar, Kadillac bar, trap hex bars, axle bars, Slater log, cambered bench bars, chains, belts, knee wraps, fat grips, knee wrap roller, bumper plates, iron plates, chalk, tripods for phones, bands, kettlebells, belt buckle assister, etc. Lots of strongman equipment too like a yoke, tires, sledgehammers, sandbags, Atlas stones, a Husafell stone, the aforementioned axle bars and Slater log, etc. I am not a strongman, so I am probably omitting lots of stuff. You are free to use the parking area in back of the gym for this (parking lot is just for members and there is almost no traffic), as well a large field next to the gym in case you need a larger area. Finally, there dumbbells to 180 lb. (most gyms go to just 80 or 100 lb.), and some cardio, like Assault rowers, stair climber, ellipticals, and stationary bikes. Everything you could need is here. I can't list everything pr this review would go on for pages! :-) But the best thing about this place is the people here, both the owners and customers. No egos, friendly, polite, approachable, and dedicated to their sport. There is lots of encouragement and positive energy. I've had many a good conversation with people. One of the owners even comes each morning and does the cleaning himself. They take pride in this facility, and you can trust everyone. No stress. Many of the athletes here have also gone on to win titles in body building and powerlifting in various organizations. There is even a service dog of one of the members who is super kind and loves to be petted, which the owner let you do. The pricing is excellent too, both for monthly memberships and guest passes. Long-time trusted members can get a code which allows to train after hours, well into the early morning if they want. There is a credit card machine or a Venmo code in the front to pay, even when no staff is here. I come here every time I am in the Bay Area and purchase weekly passes. It is a little way from San Francisco, but it is worth the drive to me. They also have amenities like strong wifi, a unisex locker room, a medical scale, a microwave, a large refrigerator, water, paid drinks with pre-workouts and the like, couc”

“its great but the employee at the register would not sell us locks for our lockers because he says the locks planet fitness sells aren't very good and encouraged us to just not lock our items. . . wouldn't sell them to us. weird.”

“Active Wellness is the best, hands down. My husband and I were members before the shutdown and I counted every day this place was closed. We immediately jumped on a new membership the second the gym opened. Here are the things I love:- water aerobics - the teachers are phenomenal and there are so many to choose from. The people in the classes are the best. - the trainers are amazing - especially Jackie. - if you like equipment, this is the place! Free weights. Functional fitness. Every machine. More free weights. Bikes. Elliptical. Rowing. Stuff I don't even know what it's called. - indoor track - hello being able to walk/jog in the summer during the day. - classes and more classes- Pilates - reformer! The women's locker room is great. I just wish they would get better shampoo and shower gel. It smells like rancid eucalyptus. It's strange. Kinda gross. Not spa like. Honestly, the shower products are my only complaint. People - you don't even realize the bargain this place is. It's amazing. But maybe don't fill it up too much because it's kinda nice quiet.. shhhh.”

“Update review: Since COVID, this place decided to close its doors, very sad because the infrastructure is the best, pool, equipment, name it. I hope they choose to open soon. I can't wait for that. Because certainly, I can't find something like this place here in Vacaville. As a family membership, that's the best option to join. The decision that I made to join this fitness club is that I was able to join with my whole family, something I was looking for a long time, and finally, I got it. Besides, something quite attractive about this place is child care because I can indulge in my routine, and they take care of my child. The classes are a pleasing challenge since they motivate me to push more on my fitness routine. Clean place and adorable location.”

“Vacaville fitness is a great convenient gym that offers workouts at any time. The gym is relatively small, however, that has never been an issue for me as they have a variety of machines available. I wanted to give a special shout-out to the manager Michelle! She is one of the kindest human beings I've ever encountered. I highly recommend this gym.”

“I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. I like that have a person constantly cleaning the club all day instead of just after-hours. Check-in process is a breeze. What I'm not happy with is the wasted space that can easily be replaced with good quality workout equipment (mainly upstairs). I also hate that they refuse to change the TV channels on the big TVs. Like, NBA season is here, so TNT should be one of the standard channels. Instead they would rather display Fox News.”

“Good gym if you like other activities such and swimming, tennis and so forth. I prefer the other Inshape in Vacaville for equipment, feels less crowded. However this one has everything you need. If you live nearby, go to this one and you'll be fine. If you're looking to just workout, I would recommend going to the other one. Just don't hog the equipment ?”
