This is a great gallery in Old Historic Truckee. Every piece of artwork is beautifully displayed, giving the viewer a chance to truly evaluate each piece. There are a variety of styles and mediums, from abstracts to realism to impressionism. Also there is a variety of sizes in each style of painting. I love the sculptures and glasswork. Absolutely great. The owner, Piper, is friendly, outgoing and really knows her artists and their work. This is definitely a "don't miss" if you are looking for a truly one of a kind artwork.

The Piper J Gallery is a bit off Truckee’s beaten track so there are no accidental visitors, you‘ll meet there those truly interested in art. The gallery is offering an excellent range of local artist, representing original art from photo realistic to abstract.The owner brought a number of paintings to our house so we could see for ourselves what looks best. Excellent and friendly service.This gallery is worth a visit for those interested in buying art with a connection to the area and don’t like the sweet mountain kitsch which is otherwise omnipresent in Truckee.

I've been following and cheerleading Piper's work for 10+ years on social media. She is connected, resourceful and customer oriented. I am inspired by the fortitude in which she operates her business and serves her customers. I am truly a supporter and follower of her expression in the world for art and artists and the community of Truckee. This is truly a NEW business model for galleries.

If I could give Piper a sixth star, I would in a heartbeat. She is simply awesome as is her gallery. We have been in the area since 1966 and seen many changes with new galleries being the latest trend over the past 10 years and so far, IMHO, hers is the best. Piper simply goes out of her way to help make your selection the best possible and leave you smiling. The gallery has the best local and regional artist and is not full of the same old bears and moose (do people know there are no moose in Truckee???) but wonderful variety of styles leaning towards more modern. The feel is similar to some of the galleries you will find in Park City or Carmel. She is having a few new pieces commissioned for us and has brought pieces by the house so you can see them in the light they will live in when you purchase. She listens to what you need and finds a piece you will love. Great addition to Truckee!!!!

My spouse and I were driving around the circumference of Lake Tahoe (easy day trip if visiting Tahoe) and stopped for lunch. We looked up “art galleries near us” and the Piper J Studio caught our eye.Piper was painting her next piece as we arrived at her studio. Her art on display spanned more than one style and, while we prefer Plein-Air landscapes, there were various paintings of outstanding quality.Piper was a joy to talk with and her loyal studio dog even chimed in once or twice! We never felt rushed. We picked out three paintings and are thrilled this evening as are these are displayed in our AirBnB until we finish our vacation then will be placed at our home in the desert.I think Piper is the “Aspen Whisperer” due to her amazing paintings of Aspens so one of the paintings we bought today of course showcases Aspen trees.Piper can assist with local recommendations if need paintings professionally packed or shipped. Great service! Great place. Stop in and enjoy!!
