I am giving one star only because I can't give zero. The manager made us feel unwelcome and unwilling to assist, possibly because we are international students of color. Despite having all necessary documentation, he kept suggesting we go to Enterprise due to minor issues. How can a manager send business to a competitor? We sensed strong racial bias from him. When we went to Enterprise, they worked with us and resolved everything smoothly. I strongly recommend avoiding Hertz, especially the location in Thousand Oaks, as their service is very poor and unwelcoming.

This place is absolutely pathetic. I rented a car for two months. After driving the car for couple of days, I realize that it has some mechanical issues. This is where the nightmare begins. There is no way possible to reach this location via the phone, it just keep throwing you back to the main menu. So I decided to stop by. They said no cars available for trade, come back tomorrow. So I went there the next day, still no cars available. They are unwilling to help, asked me to call roadside assistance number. Roadside assistance wants me to drive to LAX to exchange the car. Needless to say that I'll be returning the car and never going back there.

Terrible service. This place is ran by a Karen type manager that thinks she owns the place. She will bully you into her way and then say take it to the steet if she doesn’t get her way! I wouldn’t recommend this place! I would say rent a scooter before you come here!!

I reserved a 2 week rental and the car was filthy at pick up. I offered to come back in 1 hr to give them time to clean it. It was still filthy when I picked it up later but it’s hard to deal with just one associate when there is a line of customers, so I took off. Upon returning the car I was charged for an extra hour!

I rented an excellent car here. My car needed repairs out of warranty. The rental wasn’t very clean, but it was otherwise a great car. Explorer Turbo. I have an older Explorer and this one was much better. I was blown away.

Unprofessional manager purposely hanging up the phone. They cancelled the appointment set by my insurance company and then scammed me a four digit fee. Hertz needs to go bankrupt.

Although the people at the desk are always nice, the location suffers from a severe lack of competence. Not once have I been to this location and received the car I reserved. Not once have I spent less than 45 minutes trying to get any car. Not once have I seen anybody in line with me get the car that they reserved.Buyer beware.Highly suggest going elsewhere.

Okay stuff but worst customer service. Rented the car through pre paid but got charged more when I picked up. Was told by the location to call customer service but the lady on the phone kept “educating” me about how tax might “fluctuate”, which was never indicated during booking. Also charged me $ for frequent flyer program, which, again, was never stated anywhere. Won’t book with Hertz any more.
