I had a disappointing experience at this store. It all started with subpar customer service, and ended with credit card fraud. One associate was helping a senior couple paying a $90 bill with all ones, counting the money over, and over, and over. The associate at the other register meanwhile was hanging out on the phone.A younger guy was waiting in front of me to checkout with a pair of pants. I'm not sure if he decided to shop more or went to use the bathroom, but he put down the pants and walked away. Meanwhile I waited for another 5 minutes before that guy came back, grabbed the pants, and proceeded to stand in front of me. I guess he assumed I was saving his spot or something.FInally, both associates were available. I walked up to the Emmanual to make my purchase. He scanned it, I paid with my credit card and went about my day. Shortly after that purchase I had several fraudulent purchases on my card. It was for fishing rods and fishing equipment. I don't fish, nor does anyone in my family. I find it highly suspect that after my purchase I had multiple fraudulent charges hit my card right after. It was one thing to have subpar customer service as great customer service died post Gen X, but to have my card compromised was truly next level. I will not be back.

Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed shopping there. I was looking for a hand/grip exerciser, they only had one type, but as it turned out, it was perfect. Well made, with a rubberized grip, not the typical sponge type grip, and adjustable tension from 20-90 pounds pressure. $16.95. lots of things to see here.

They only gave me 1 out of 2 packages from my weight rack. When I called the store they said they didn’t have my package two people had to come out and one with the package. There was so much miscommunication going on. The guy wished me a good day like if that was it. When I got home I noticed there was missing weights so I called and they told me to wait a day until they talk to their manager. Poor service.

The only bricks and mortar sports we really have in SoCal. Picked up a couple of bat grips and asked a trainee if her register was open. Price came out wrong and I questioned it and she verified it was correct. Long story short they didn't honor the price and I left without it. Disappointed presentation through and through but got my grips.

My husband and I Came in to get some softball buckets and softballs for our team and we asked for help to get a bucket down, the male who was sent to us, clearly hates his job and didn’t want to make a sale. So instead of making a large purchase we walked out with nothing.Rude staff. Oxnard location is by far way better and more helpful!

If I could only give this store no stars.... Anytime I walk into this store.. I dropped no less than $500 bucks, Xmas, bdays, etc.... This location of Dicks has turned me completely away from Dicks. I went in for Xmas to get a basketball, some really nice hiking boots for the wife, and shoes, and clothes, I droppe $700 this day. I walked to the shoe reaction and a short white guy saw me and said I'll help you after this guy.. I watched him help 2 other customers who walked right into the store. Finally a girl/Dani)walked over and said do you need anything, she was very sweet, I said yes I just need these shoes in this size. So after that I was like ok.. you know what it's Christmas, I'll leave it be.. So then after making my purchase, there was an Hispanic guy at the check out register, after paying for my items.. I asked this guy can he pump the basketball up that I just purchased right then and there at the store. He looked at me and said.. I have to get to these other people, he asked me to get back into line after waiting 20mins. I said sir, is there no way you can call someone to assist, and then he did, but looked at me with disgust. This was the straw that broke the camels back, not only am I a veteran who defended this nation, I was a lay down of a customer buying $700 worth of things. So safe to say I'm done with Dicks. Very sad experience, at a sports store of all places, note to the employees who don't fair well with people.. Don't work at a store full of things that make people happy, and take their happiness away. It's a wonder this location of a store inThousand Oaks has only 2 and a half stars..

I was standing in line waiting my turn and I noticed a worker named Larissa and a women having a nice conversation, laughing and smiling. i couldn't help but notice that once it was my turn her demeanor changed, as if she was annoyed, had a attitude, and when finished she swiftly dismissed us with have a "have a nice day" and turned her back to fold clothes. The only reason this rating is a 2 out of 5 is because we had the pleasure of meeting Carl, who was happy to help us with whatever we needed.
