I've taken my dog here several mornings as a walk in and every time I go I notice that the front desk staff always do their best to make sure all animals get cared for. The morning rush is extremely busy and the staff handle it very well. They treat everyone respectfully and never rush the customers. The vets in the back take they time to explain everything. I've never had a bad experience. So thankful to have this vet hospital in town!

Had I written this eight months ago I would've said they are amazing. They have helped Me through many things from wellnes visits, a new litter of puppiy exams, to the care of my terminally I'll dog and everything in between. I love Dr. Komin , Anderson, Freng , who is now gone unfortunately. And many of the staff in the past were great also. Whatever corporation has now taken over the practice has ruined the country vet vibe and common courtesy and hospitality and care I have become accustomed to. The new staff is rude, their appointment system is nonexistent and they are extremely slow. There is always the option of "drop off" service where you dot. Need an appointment ut this requires often a long wait to get your pet in and then they may have to stay there for hours without you. I have been taking my dogs here for 10 years and mostly had good experiences until the last couple of months I'm extremely disappointed in the new management takeover that has resulted in poor patient flow and care. When you call the phone is now auto answered by a message which states " we are experiencing higher than normal call volume" then you wait on hold for a long time! Called today for a wellness appt and was curtly informed that the December schedule will not be made until the first of November and to use the drop off system. I understand they are busy but seriously need to address they way their staff treats clients. I do hope over time they figure out how to meet the needs of the community with the ease, flow, kindness and professional attitude they used to have. Unfortunately in Tehachapi you have a choice of only two vet hospitals. This one and or the one across town.

The girls are so nice and comforting. I went to do a drop off and they got me in right away and I really appreciate it. I've been stressed about my dog not eating. My mom usually takes my dog/ her dogs here and she always has good things to say. I'm glad I got to witness it first hand. I know my dog will be well taken care of until I get a call back on her update. Thank you

Service is way too slow, I brought my dogs in for a simple vaccine shot and waited 2 hrs when they said they only had 4 people in front of me, horrible wait don't recommend, pricing is also way too high 1 vaccine is 30-40 when other places are 20-30 only reason I came here was cause it's the only one in this town.

I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Anderson, Dawn and the rest of the staff. They helped me with my very sick cat and went out of their way to make it an easier journey. 5 stars

Went in at 10:30 this morning to drop my pet off waited two hours with no response they say they tried to call me on my caller ID on my phone shows they did not... argumentative people we need a better and more vet service in this town or at least they need to have better service Why is it that they have four doctors and it takes you a month or longer to get an appointment this makes no sense

do not take your pets here!!! the place is a joke. they just want your money. will request completely unnecessary testing to rack up your pets "estimated bill" first time going there and absolutely not going back. not even a process of elimination for a non-life threatening issue.

We brought our senior dog here 3/18/2022 because we were unable to find an in-home euthanasia provider in the area. The staff and techs were accommodating from beginning to end. We are grateful for the kindness that they showed to us and our beloved pet. Their compassion and sensitivity allowed us to lay our canine family member to rest in a loving manner that we will feel good about for the rest of our lives. I wish I could access the unused stars from the other reviewers and add them here. 5 stars is not enough to rate our experience. Special thanks to Christine and her colleague (sorry, we did not get her name). You made a difference.

We came as an emergency we were on our way to Texas, CA and one of our dogs started to have a UTI. This was the closest place to us, I called to see if they were accepting a walk in they said yes and as soon as I arrived it took less than 10 minutes for Tammy (my dog) to be seen. They checked her and about an hour and a half we were out with medicine. Just want to say thank you to all the staff. It's very nice to know there are people who actually care. Thank you.

Iv been here a few times for my dogs shots and the staff is always extremely rude and disrespectful to the point they roll their eyes at you. I had enough today when I called to make and apt for my dog to get fixed after being promised I would be able to ( I called for two month trying to make one!) the list finally came out and they can't fit me in. Was told try again next month.

Took my Maltese there on Friday cause she was having trouble breathing she has a known heart murmur. Dropped her off in the morning they did lab X-rays and said she had bronchitis. They called around 3 and said she was ready to go home. Gave us 2 prescriptions and said give her a couple days and if she's not getting better come back or go to this Er they gave us a paper for. When we picked her up her breathing was still bad and I said something to the tech and she said oh she does that now and then but assured me it wasn't on going. Wrong it got worse and we took her to a amazing Er in Bakersfield not the one they said to go to cause there reviews were horrible but to VCA. Come to find out her lungs were full of fluid and she was drowning not bronchitis. Unfortunately we weren't able to save her . If I would have been given a the correct diagnosis I would have taken her to a Er straight away. If your hospital can't handle the problem tell us don't just let a dog go home with false hopes. Think twice about going to this vet I know I never will.

I am new to the area and have lived here 10 months. My neighbor recommended Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Ditmyer has treated all of my pets and she is fabulous. I saw a bad review from a month ago and obviously that person doesn't understand how booked this pet Hospital is and for a reason. So many people come here and get great care so they are overbooked and with the pandemic it makes it even more difficult. They take the precautions of not spreading the pandemic by having owners and pets wait in their car and then a vet tech comes out and takes your pet along with their intake information. The care my pets have had here has been outstanding. I'm 61 years old and I've had pets since I was five years old. That's I've been to over the decades of my life. I can say that this is the best vet hospital I have gone to in over 50 years. If you have to wait, it's because so many people come here and they can only treat so many pets in one day. I'm sitting here in the parking lot and they took my little miniature pincher in even though they are heavily booked. They do the best they can with the number of vets they have and a large number of pets that are brought here. I guess the woman who wrote that poor review with one star thinks she's more important than anyone else. They do the absolute best they can at this veterinarian hospital and I am always impressed with the service that I receive. I'm embarrassed to tell you how many pets I have and I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Dr. Ditmyer is outstanding and I always know she will give my beloved pets the best care. I can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else in Tehachapi. I'm so glad my neighbor referred me here. I am always grateful to Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital because they are the best!

I can't speak much to the medical practice here because we simply won't take our pet there. We called to try and take our cat in who got something sharp stuck in his paw and the person on the other end of the line was super rude and short with us. I won't take my amazing cat to a not-so-amazing vet. If the person answering the phones is any indication of what kind of care my animal will receive, count me OUT! Here's a tip--if the front-facing person at your vet is an as@#^^, it makes your business look bad. Fire that person and hire someone sweet. After all, we're talking about a place that is supposed to pander to cute, innocent animals, shouldn't the people that work there seem caring and sweet as well? Yikes. 1 star.

Horrible place. My dog has been going there for a year for regular care. It's the only place in town when I took him there today for a foot sore they refused to see him even though when I called yesterday they said it would be fine to bring him in. When I finally reached another vet he had a fever. They gave him pain meds and antibiotics. Obviously he was sick and needed care!!!! What is a veterinary hospital for if it isn't to take care of your animal when they need it! Very upsetting! Would never recommend this place to anyone!! EVER!! Cruel and heartless service! Inhuman!
