great experience at this nonprofit. staff was helpful and insightful. We took our Girl Scout troop to learn and understand the hardships other people go through in other countries. then, the fieldgot to prep and pack snacks and dry food in boxes, so they put in their volunteer hours

If you haven't been to CHF or the Poverty Encounter with your family, you are missing out. I would highly recommend doing a Food Pak or a Virtual Food Pak with your family. If you have kids, checkout the Poverty Encounter. You won't regret it.

Such a humbling experience for my family and myself. I teared during the encounter tour. Evan was an awesome tour guide. This verse kept resounding in my mind and heart. "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal" Matthew 6:19 . Definitely will be coming to volunteer, and we will budget so that we can donate monthly and prayers for this organization and all involved who are making a difference.

Great eye opening experience for kids and us adults to remember how fortunate we are and look for ways to help those in need. Guide is very knowledgeable and we had a great family experience.

So anointed!!! Volunteering was easy, well explained, and fun! The poverty experience is SO GOOD! If you're considering volunteering here, even if you dont want to put too much effort into volunteering, even if YOU WANT TO PUT A LOT OF EFFORT INTO VOLUNTEERING! They have streamlined it so much that there is no pressure! Come on out and help some people! (Edited to add pictures from the last event)

I didn't even know this place was here! I did volunteer work with the local high school (it was arranged by the football coach whom volunteers regularly) and though I wasn't quite sure where I'd be the most helpful, it was still a very rewarding experience. The staff was kind, helpful and dedicated. If you're going on the 210 W, just be mindful of the construction. It causes such a mess of traffic.

Such well designed program that educates kids and adults alike about how extreme poverty is impacting lives all over the world. It serves as a reminder that we need to appreciate the lives we have here in US and nothing should be taken for granted. Highly recommended for everyone, especially school kids.
