Update [9/5/2024]: I've visited Charlie twice for my car since the last time, and my trust in him has only increased. I expect to be using Charlie's services for as long as he owns the shop.

This reviews is long due. I got timing belt package done by Charlie. He promised that the noise from timing belt area will be gone after he changes it, but it never went away...he gave me warranty of 1 year also. The noise didn't go away when I picked up my car after he was done with the job. He somehow convinced me(-he speaks alot) that the noise is not due to Timing Belt package. Later that week, I got the noise diagnosed from my car dealer and they told me noise is definitely from parts of timing belt package. At this point, it was confirmed Charlie didn't do his job correctly and charged me heavily. I took my car next week and he turned me away saying he is busy, cannot talk and asked me to come next day. I called next day and he said he can replace the parts but he will have to charge the labor as labor is not covered in warranty. I decided not to take my car to him anymore.Today, another mechanic told me that labor is also covered by mechanics when job is still under warranty.I am feel cheated by Charlie after so much of back and forth and getting an expensive job done.

I would like to give 5Star to Mr. Charlie for his service on my 2011 Huyndai. I came to him with multiple issues with my function keys not working on the Steering wheel. He gave his time and effort to diagnose the issue. used the genuine parts and fixed it in 2 visits. I got this done at a reasonable price compared to other auto-mechs around. (Thanks for letting me use the wifi while I could continue to do my work , while I was waiting).Kunal

I have been going to Charlie for past 10-12 years. Very reliable and gives honest opinion. I have done from oil change to major services for all our cars. You can't go wrong with Choice auto.

If you have a vehicle that is not under factory warranty please take your car/van to Choice Auto for any repairs or regular maintenance. You can trust the owner, Charlie, with your vehicle. He won't recommend any unnecessary work for your vehicle. Very cost effective and saves money when compared to the dealerships. I fully recommend Choice Auto. I would say this hidden gem is the best in the Bay Area.
