Just a couple of days ago, I walked into the Stanford campus SCFU branch for the first time. within short moments was accosted and invited by Michelle Matias to an office to assist with my planned deposits. I was confused about CDs versus money market accounts and mostly about liquidity of cash. Michelle was not only knowledgeable but with clarity, she helped me make wise and informed decisions. It may be true that a lot of this information is on the web, but I need my questions answered directly without "FAQs". Michelle is a personable bank officer, who provided personal attention and with meticulous attention help me complete my tasks. Now, with hindsight, I feel and remain comfortable, relieved and reassured. Thank you, SCFU for having such a well-trained staff. Bravo.

I wish there was a no star option , their customer service, internal and external communication is the WORST !!! I have had to order new debit cards I live out of state and it has taken more than three weeks to obtain a card it’s ridiculous . Everything is horrible about this credit union customer service. Employees always seem lost when providing information and their calls get routed to wrong department .

I came in today with an elderly friend who was being taken to the cleaners by fraudsters who were charging her accounts thousands of dollars every couple of days. She was scared, and uncertain how it happened, and not sure how to protect herself - a bit of a deer in the headlights. We came into the branch today and could not have been more fortunate than to be served by Ruben Castaneda. I'm a fraud prevention professional, and can be pretty exacting, and have very high expectations - I guess I can be a little difficult when someone is being abused. And Ruben didn't just meet my expectations, he wildly exceeded them. He was extremely knowledgeable, walked us through a variety of scenarios and options for both addressing the fraud and making sure it doesn't happen again, carefully explained each step/consequence regarding account closures and disputes, and did so with immense care. He understand so many nuances of several complicated processes, and was able to explain them in a simple manner so that my friend could understand. There wasn't a single question he couldn't answer, and I asked a LOT of them. I can't overstate how far he went to meet our needs and take care of my friend. He dug through countless account transactions to verify signatures, made sure my friend walked out with a new card, and so much more. The icing on the cake for me was, when we were ready to leave, he gently explained to my friend some of the most common ways that senior citizens are abused, what to look out for, when to hang up the phone, and more. My friend wasn't just taken care of, she was cared for, and that was an amazing thing to see. Kudos to Ruben for being an amazing employee AND human being.
