In addition to being one of the most painfully bureaucratic organizations I have ever dealt with, they have zero customer focus. Their approach of "total wellness" treats patients like children is merely an excuse to look for more revenue generation. I came in to look at some skin issues and had to fill out a 2 page mental health questionnaire that had nothing to do with my visit. Got a lecture on shingles vaccine and Body Mass (I lift weights and probably exercise more in seek then the provider does in a month) but did not get an answer about what I came in for. Instead I got a referral and another opportunity to waste an hour of my life. They need to focus on addressing the issue the patient came in for first and then they can look for other revenue opportunities.

The job of the people who schedule appointments is to get rid of the person. The staff is rude. They are dismissive. I wish I had read the reviews here before working with these people. Expensive

This review is for Dr.Brian Travis Rice from Er department. I was in excruciating eye pain when I went there, I saw a student resident. Whatever my husband told she gave the same medicine to me. I literally begged them to refer me to the eye clinic, as they said they can't do anything for my pain. They were extremely rude and racist, they said that they can't even refer me anywhere. Doctors like them don't deserve to practice as they were stone-hearted. I paid more than 500$ for this visit for nothing.SO PLEASE GO TO SOME OTHER HOSPITAL,NEVER GO TO STANFORD ER

If you wish to have an outstanding care experience this place is not for you !!! They have new building with great expensive design but if you looking for excellent treatments and care you will realize that is not their top priority. The session with dr is time for 15 minutes and you can only present two issue - I believe they charge insurance is about around $600. Wait for dr or specialist is about four months . In my opinion the care in Stanford Hospital degraded and if you see surgeon he will not issue serious plan or present you with all opinions. I believe Palo Alto Medical or Mountain View hospital is a better choiceto receive care.

While Stanford is not to blame for my father's underlying diagnosis, it is impossible to deny their abhorrent lack of communication and compassion. They have left him to die. Local hospitalists won't treat him because he is under Stanford's care, Stanford won't return a phone call or message through their portal. If only we could turn back time and go to UCLA- my father might have a chance. Their inhumanity is hard to reconcile.

I called to get a second opinion on a rare tumor I have. I had to pay out of pocket. At first I was charged $300 for my phone appointment. Then a few months later was told I owe another $300 because the phone call was longer than 15 minutes. I applied for financial assistance and was declined. This additional charge was difficult to make along with all my other charges plus I just had surgery and am not able to work for 2 months. Don't expect any kindness or aid from this institution if you are cash paying.

The My Health Stanford website doesn't work. I log in and immediately I get an image of a band aid and the message that the website is unavailable. this happens every time I try to login. If I click on "Share Access" I can use the website - it works. The tech support link at the bottom of the page/screen doesn't work.Sutter's website works much better. Unfortunatley my doctor moved to Stanford.Patient waiting area in Emeryville is terrible. The seats are in a hallway facing the wall instead of facing windows to look outside. And the windows are too high to see out even if the chairs were turned to face them. This is a brand new building. Feels like it is designed to move patients as fast as possible. No thought to patient experience.

To all the other revenue streams (patients) that may consider doing business with Stanford Healthcare Factory, don't use them.Their Patient Services is ineffective. They take any issue you have to Management, who does nothing. The staff is so busy that they don't have time to treat you like a real live person.David Entwistle has done such an excellent job of turning an educational and cutting-edge medical facility into a cash cow for Stanford University that they can't bear reorganizing the organization to provide real service to the community. If you are a medical student at Stanford and want to learn to become a caring provider of service, please consider transferring to another institution. If you just want to make money, then you are at the right institution.

My dad was a Stanford patient since 2014 and every time he admitted to J7 or ICU units, the staffs and doctors were always amazing to his care. Even on the day that my dad took his last breath, the team were so attentive and understand our concerns. The transition to comfort care for my dad was absolutely amazing, calm and it was very peaceful. My family and my dad never felt so loved by the staffs and doctors here for the last years that my dad had been sick. Thank you Stanford for your amazing care and we truly blessed to be there.

My father had surgery this week and stayed 24hrs in the hospital. Though the doctor and surgical staff were good, the hospital literally couldn't give my senior father a room and didn't let him have any visitors at all. Not even his wife.Instead he was stuck in the hallway, yes, the HALLWAY, over night and into the next morning. He was kept awake by various staff moving equipment, people shouting, etc. While in terrible pain. This isn't the height of the pandemic, I find it mind boggling something like this is considered acceptable.

Stephanie Farajain, RN made my fathers stay here absolutely amazing. She was so kind, professional, caring and attentive with him. He was so frustrated because he wanted to go home and was yelling but she really helped him calm down with so much patience and understanding. She was really an angel in disguise and his stay was absolutely perfect because of her. Anyone who has her as their nurse is in amazing hands! Thank you so much Stephanie :) we really appreciate you!

Best hospital I have ever been too. Had a reverse shoulder replacement at the new hospital. But my Dr here Dr. ABRAMS and his staff are the best. When he is in the room with you it's like nobody is waiting. He takes very good care.

The doctors the nurses are great!! The screening security at the front door are rude and unprofessional and should maybe work in a jail or tow truck company - the case manager we were assigned is a hot mess, doesn't listen, is rude, condescending, and a liar - Carmen you do not belong in health care! Your have not heart you don't care and have a really horrible attitude and don't listen - good luck finding another job yer done!

This concerns a recent situation I had at 300 Pasteur Dr. The main entrance closes after-hours, and everyone is expected to enter thru 500 Pasteur Dr. What I didn't know was, you can't exit from 300 Pasteur Drive either. This maybe a new situation, as i didn't have this problem in the past. It was a Friday evening, and I wasn't the only one. There were two other people who simply wanted to exit the building, but couldn't get outside. I asked a staff person, and she said we have to go up to the 2nd floor, cross the bridge, and exit from 500 Pasteur Dr. Wow, that's a really long way to just leave the hospital. Then I saw some nurses leaving the building thru an unmarked exit. They entered the stairway, then used the exit to the outside. It's a one-way door, so you can't enter that way. It's still a long walk, but at least you're outside the building. You need to provide an easier way to leave 300 Pasteur Dr after-hours.

this place is the worse on earth ! don't be full for all the marketing they do . they had a mistake in my mother's liver surgery , they lost her glass after the surgery and don't even care to get another glasses to her, she can't see anything after that and had to stay in the room alone without food all day. If you care about your family and about your self be prepare to be in the hell there .
