This is such a wonderful vineyard and hotel. We really couldn’t believe our eyes, it was so incredibly beautiful so that we even stayed a little longer. Michelle hosted us incredibly well, we felt like home :)

It's hard to believe I didn't know of Vineyard Hacienda before. This home is truly private, clean, serene, welcoming and is really one of the nicest places to stay in CA.
Joseph, Patty and staff operate a business here but, when visiting it feels like a meet-up with really cool relatives and friends that you've been waiting to get together with. This is a place where the concern isn't about cost, it's about whether or not it's available.
5 stars isn't enough. I have to award 10 or 12. So if you ask if I'd visit again......I already have and I will again. So will you.

This place is unbelievable! Three-star hotel does not adequately describe it. A little hidden gem off the road in Rancho San Diego. When you get here, the place is the most peaceful and idyllic spot in San Diego! Service is amazing. The grounds are unbelievable. Definitely grab some fresh blackberries from the bush outside. Dozens of Rose bushes, Bird of paradise and fruit trees adorn the property. Definitely check out the meditation area with the Japanese statuary. Every room has its own style and theme. Definitely check out the Pharaoh room!
Rooms: Out of this world themed rooms. So amazing.
Nearby activities: Hiking around the grounds. Beautiful hiking trail and nature preserve 1 mile down the street. Shopping and all Commerce just 2 mi down the street.
Walkability: 9 acres of grounds very walkable. Lose yourself among the trees and plants. Walking path through the vineyard is amazing.
Food & drinks: Wine tasting is offered to guests and large parties. Free glass of wine at check-in.
Noteworthy details: One of a kind boutique hotel hidden off the wayside in tranquil Rancho San Diego. 20 minutes from downtown San Diego. Just an unbelievable find for a romantic getaway or corporate off-site event. We loved it.

Venue was authentic and beautiful - a true Southern California experience. Joe was very accommodating and helpful. There were multiple locations around the venue for set ups so it offered a lot of variety.

Booked through the American Advantage program but unfortunately the type of room booked, deluxe two queen beds, dies not exist at the Vineyard Hacienda. The owner, Joseph, offered my friend and I another room with a total price comparable to what I had already paid for the booking. The hotel is very eclectic with each room having a different theme. Had a great conversation with Joseph after checking in and gave us some free wine. It is very quiet and secluded. It would be a great weekend getaway for couples. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff and owner.

We reserved a four day stay over Easter weekend, checking in on Thursday night March 28, 2024. Upon our arrival we were informed that there was a problem with the hot water heater, and that although we could not take hot showers, we could take warm showers. The following morning we attempted to take showers but the water was cold, not warm. We also discovred that the large frosted glass window in the shower which faces outside to the pool area had been compromised so that you could see outside from the shower and anyone outside could see into the shower. The trash can in the bathroom had not been emptied before our arrival. Not all of the outlets in the room worked, and there were no charging outlets for phones or other devices. We were told that although there was no breakfast served, there was a coffee station in the room. That "station" was supplied with one k-cup of regular coffee, one k-cup of decaf, and one k-cup of tea. We guessed that it was intended that a couple share one cup of regular coffee. The only lock on the door to the room was the kind of lock you find on a bathroom door, not a deadbolt or other more secure lock. The room decor was also very dated, not quaint or romantic at all. After experiencing the above, we went to the office to express our concerns/displeasure and found it locked. No one was at the facility to address our concerns. As the accommodations wer unacceptable, we packed and got ready to leave. My husband called the reservation number and informed the woman who answered the phone of the unacceptable conditions, told her to cancel the rest of our reservation, and instructed her not to charge us for any additional nights. He sent an email to teh facility making the same comments/requests later the dame day. Upon arrving home we discovered that we were charged for all four nights. To say that we are displeased is an understatement. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Rooms: There was no hot or warm water available during our stay. The room in which we stayed, the Champagne Room, was very dated, the light bulbs in the chandelier did not match, and not all of the outlets in the room worked. The room had not been thoroughly cleaned, the lock on the door was not a secure lock, and only one person could have a cup of coffee from the coffee sattion in the room. This was neither a quant nor romantic accommodation.
Safety: The lock on the room door was not secure. The large frosted window in the shower that faced outside to the pool area was compromised so that you could see outside from the shower, and anyone outside could see into the shower.

There's nothing not to love about the Vineyard Hacienda. The Hacienda provides a completely unique vacation experience, not far from downtown San Diego. Beautiful grounds that you'll want to explore. Stunning "Big House" with an amazing pool and pool house/game room/bar. If you're having a small party, ask for the wine cellar. If you are having a bigger gathering, take advantage of the perfect San Diego weather and set it up outside. If you're there in the summer, you'll pick blackberries the size of chicken's eggs, and figs sweeter than anything you've ever tasted. The Vineyard Hacienda is in an ideal "jump off" location for other adventures in and around San Diego. But the beauty and atmosphere at Vineyard Hacienda may convince you to stay and enjoy.

This was such a gorgeous and artistic experience. As a lover of art, and a bridesmaid, I got to stay in a room and explore the beautiful crafted rooms and artwork all over. Joseph was so great when I saw him at rehearsals that I thought he was a wedding planner, surprised to find out he was the owner! He was so wonderfully helpful, made sure every ridiculous demand, such as hot water for a ramen station. His energy was vibrant and appreciated. You could find Rhonda anywhere, ask her for a hot glue gun and she will make it appear. Some helpful tips would be to bring post it notes to write where a box of decor should be placed and they will have it fixed up and ready. Have a couple of friends, outside of the bridal party who understand your vision to help coordinate the vineyard employees with table settings and decor. Make sure you have tips ready for vendors such as bartenders, DJ, catering all ready and labeled to have a bridesmaid drop off close to the end of the night. Remember that not everything will go according to plan, be ready to adapt and still enjoy the day. It was a beautiful day that I will remember a lot of happy tears at

Great place to stay so peaceful and quiet.the room we stayed in was the Santa Fe room was a very spacious king size bed with a private balcony. The restroom was very beautiful as well as the decoration around the property. It does have a cellar a bar pool Jacuzzi a game room next to the pool a BBQ grill next to the pool. The property is very large they host all kinds of events during the weekend. The koi fish pond is very large with a lot of koi fish. Will be returning here in the future
Rooms: Very big spacious rooms tv, mini fridge, coffee machine and shower. There are rooms with private balconies you just have to ask what rooms have them.
Walkability: There is I believe 9 acres to walk around the property there is private residence driving up to the property tho.
Noteworthy details: It's very peaceful here with low to no noise except nature we did here wolves at night.

This hotel has zero privacy. You can CLEARLY hear every sound being made outside which means they can also hear every sound you make. I could hear every single word coming from someone's mouth and every single step they took. The noise keeps going all night, so if you are a light sleeper is even worse. Stay here if you want everyone in the vicinity to hear every word you say and to even know the exact sound of your pee.

On arrival we were told our room had been given to someone else and we were led down a dark winding hall and up stairs to a room. We'd reserved a king and were given a queen with no hot water, barely functioning door lock, and a bracket where a smoke detector should be.

This place is beautiful. My girlfriend and I really enjoy staying there. I can’t say to much on the retreats they have there. But I’ve heard only good things.

Dirty room and pool with bugs floating around. You’re better off staying at the Sycuan resort a couple minutes away.

It's sad to see reviews that have given this gorgeous property a one star ✨ cause none of that makes sense to me.Joseph since day one was on top of everything! Very professional, his staff was very helpful and overall our experience was amazing!Recently had my wedding here Sat.Nov 18th my husband's family as well as my own, were so impress! with how fast, friendly, welcoming and just on point with everything! Our experience here was lovely and made our wedding day magical! Joseph is really a wonderful person to work with. Of course you have to be understanding it's a BIG property! He is a very busy person but he'll always come through on his end! YOU just have to be willing to work with him and don't be complicated. This property, owner and staff truly do deserve nothing but 5 stars. I feel if you're leaving less than that it's not them being the problem but YOU yourself may be the issue my friend. No hate just love and respect ?You'll never regret choosing this place, you'll regret if you don't choose this place! Joseph we appreciate everything you've done for us!
