Friendly staff but the adoption process almost makes it not worth it. You have to be quick enough to sign up for the waitlist right at 9am on their website. I did it two days straight for two different dogs and I was unsuccessful. Guessing I’m too slow for the process.

My sister in laws cat was taken to their shelter by $5 or Less Bookstore after he wandered into their store. The shelter released him right after he was dropped off back onto the street. They did not hold him for his owner to have a chance to pick him up. They dumped a housecat onto the street. The person responsible needs to be fired. This shelter needs to be held responsible for endangering animals. Now a happy healthy housecat with a family is lost and wandering the street.

Had a 100 pound dog attack last week and this week, same dog. Called animal control to help. Guy showed up 6 hours later and was super dismissive and rude. 3 separate people in the community approached him because we are scared this dog will attack us and our pets and he dismissed everyone multiple times. With employees like this definitely will make me drive to a different shelter with more helpful staff. I use to work at a shelter in Phoenix so I know how protocol and attitude towards people should be. Super disappointed because I was looking to start volunteering here soon. Agoura hills hopefully needs help.

The Ventura County animal service staff were amazing. They were all super friendly. You can tell how much they love their animals. The adoption process was simple and easy. This is my second time adopting from them. The first was from the Camarillo shelter and this one is from the Simi Valley location. Both places were clean and all the animals were well taken care of
