Chad Cardoos is the best colorist, cut, and stylist I’ve ever had. I found him on Groupon 6 years ago and it changed my life. He’s the only person who can touch my hair. And you guys must understand, my hair is my THING. I got it from my mama. If you look at photos you’ll see what I mean. He always does exactly what you ask for, but better. 10-out-of-10! SO NATURAL. The selfie was a recent clean up that’s brought so much body and lightness.

I have been frequenting Vidal Sassoon since 2000, my daughters have been going since 2018. My girls and I haven’t found a salon in the San Fernando Valley that we wanted to make the switch to until now. HEADBETTER is better than any salon we have been to. Our Stylist Johnny was super knowledgeable, extremely friendly and up to date on trends and techniques. Both of my girls left looking amazing and are looking forward to going back. Also, another added bonus is that this Salon has plenty of parking in the back. Thank you Johnny for such a great experience. We look forward to seeing you again real soon.

This is the only place that I do my hair here in the US and Chad is the best hair stylist I have ever seen. He is so amazing and the only one allowed to ever touch my hair. The place is amazing and the people there are so amazing too.

I’ve been going to this salon for the past two years following Chad Cardoos from his previous salons and it’s a great salon. Chad is wonderful and gets me exactly what I need to keep my hair fresh and healthy!

Chad has been doing my hair as long as I can remember. I've followed him all over the San Fernando Valley and beyond. So happy he's at Headbetters, a fun salon with great lighting and a cool vibe. With his years of experience Chad will never steer you wrong. Cuts will compliment and make you feel like the best version of yourself. His color is is amazing. Not sure what to do? He will help you decide which way to go. Have a picture? Better yet. He will weigh pros and cons with you and come up with a plan. You will look fabulous!

Chad has completely changed how I feel about my hair. I used to be not confident in my curls but the way that Chad takes the time to cut my hair in the right way makes me feel so confident after I leave the salon. I can’t imagine getting my hair done anywhere else! Chad is a master at hair and is always answering my questions with grace and ease.

Ashlee! She can do no wrong! She always gets me and nails my blonde whim of the moment. I have been seeing her for years. Before that I would always bop around to whoever had the best Groupon going, lol! Her highlighting technique is amazing and always grows in gently so there's no harsh lines. Sometimes I can go months without going back to the salon, so it's very cost effective. Not to mention she's just a doll and super easy to talk to. We always have a gossip fest during our appointments - she's just the best! And all the other stylists are excellent as well. I watch other clients get their hair done at the same time, and everyone who walks out of the salon looks like a supermodel!

After searching high and low for a skilled, seasoned stylist, I finally found CHAD at this fantastic salon! After hating looking at myself in the mirror for several months because of a mediocre cut, I now love my reflection again! Chad has the loveliest way about him - he's super easy going and has a quiet confidence. From the moment I sat down in his chair to discuss my hair, I knew I was in good hands. He just gets it! And best of all, his ease and precision in cutting and styling is hands above! If you're looking for your next forever stylist, look no further. Trust me.

Cindy was an angel sent to my hair! It was my first time with her and she absolutely nailed it. It's been hard for me to find someone who can cut layers and she did an amazing job. Enjoyed my time with her and I will definitely be going back to her for my next haircut.

I was hesitant to write this review but I feel that I should save other people from the experience that I had. I had my hair cut and highlighted by Johnny and it was bizarre and the most uncomfortable situation that I have ever been in, in the decades of getting my hair done.Prior to the first appointment, I came in for a consultation and it seemed that we were in agreement as to what would be done to my hair. I later came to learn that Johnny does what makes him “comfortable.” In response to his question, I said that I did not want a root shadow. I said that I might want some lowlights. He said he wouldn’t put then in my hair. I said that I did not want toner because it washes out of my hair the next day and I am left with the color that the hair was bleached to (which means that the hair colorist needs to get that right the first time).During the first appointment, after taking out the foils, he put on a root shadow because the highlights did not reach my hair line and he put in a toner which washed out the first time that I washed my hair. I did not get a haircut during the first appointment.At the second appointment, I had a similar experience with his resistance about the color of my hair. I said that I wanted lowlights to break up chunks of blonde and the look on his face expressed his frustration instead of trying to understand the client’s goals and lifestyle.I was way overdue for a hair cut at the time of my second appointment. It had been about 4 months since I had gotten my hair cut and I needed about 3-4 inches off. After washing my hair, Johnny started to blow it dry without cutting it first. Apparently, he was doing a “dry cut.” The problem is that he dried my hair stick straight and after he cut it and showed it to me, it was uneven in many places and wasn’t styled. In addition, he hadn’t ask where I part my hair. I showed him how I want the pieces around my face to fall. He became emotional and said that he couldn’t cut my hair. I couldn’t believe that he expected me to walk out of there with stick straight but uneven hair. I asked him to finish. He did. I asked how much hair he took off and he said half an inch because that’s what HE is comfortable with! Also, after cutting hair that has been dried stick straight previously, the stylist cannot style your hair properly unless he wets again -which he didn’t. He said not to worry. Instead of blow drying it to style it, he used irons to curl the hair and give it style - which I did not.To top off all of this, he had another appointment scheduled to come in. She was his friend. She sat in the chair next to me and they were talking. I feel that he was nervous and rushing because his friend was waiting. At one point, even though she saw what was going on, she asked when he would be done.I am a professional. I need my hair shorter. It is also uncomfortable this long during the heat. I asked him whether he would cut my hair to shoulder length if I requested it in the future, and he said that it depends on how long he knows me. Shocking! A hairstylist should let the client know that he does not follow instructions and does haircuts based on his own feelings.The situation was crazy. I paid, overtipped and left. I now have hair toward the middle of my back and I will have to find someone else to cut it again.
