This is a fantastic center for performing arts. They have outdoor concerts and plays, indoor performances in the carriage house, rotating art exhibits, and outdoor art installations. They have color signs on the side of the building with the 2024 shows, complete with the dates and prices. There are four parking lots here. Where you will park should depend on what you intend to do. There are a couple easy-to-navigate trails here, narrow, mostly shaded, and with good elevation. Some of the other noteworthy spots here include a gated eucalyptus tree walkway, a succulent garden, and a place with some installations that make music with the wind.

I came there with my companion Elder Romney though. It was raining and luckily we carry an umbrellas, we walked around the trail the it's super chilling because there were only 2 of us! It was during fall 2022 and the yellow trees were super pretty!

I formerly went to Montalvo for live entertainment about 20-30 yrs ago. I was busy working as an NP at Kaiser in the more recent years & volunteering for the professional association for NP's.Now I'm retired and went to the craft fair this year, 2023, which was delightful a good source for unique homemade gifts for my large family (3 adult kids, 9 grandkids, & 1 great grandson.I bought a fabric bag big enough for my sister in Bozeman, MT to bring in her homegrown vegetables. Also got her 2 Swedish dish towels for her kitchen where she already has decorative Swedish tiles. For my almost 2 yr old great grandson I purchased a fabric book and asked the seamstress to sign her name to it. It was an enjoyable Saturday morning in a classy setting for my friend & I. My neighbor attended the tea the next day with several friends on the next day, Sunday & enjoyed that too.

Scenic place in a Porsche neighborhood. Their sculptures were interesting and the park was big and crafted with multiple plantations. Good place for a walk.

Came here on a Monday and only saw three or four other groups, two were bridal photo shoots! I only looked around the garden area, and I will definitely be back in spring when there are more flowers blooming

Attended my niece's wedding, this place is amazing, can't think of a better place to have a wedding. Weather was perfect, the garden setting for the ceremony was incredible, the mansion where the reception was held was very classy. It was just a wonderful experience.

Nestled on a picturesque hillside, it provides a serene escape for families. While the trails may not be extensive, they offer ample opportunity for invigorating hikes and the chance to relish the crisp, fresh air. The breathtaking vantage point from the hill's summit offers a panoramic view of the city.Exploring the stunning mansion, exquisite courtyard, and enchanting Italian garden is a delightful must-do. Marveling at the fusion of architecture, sculptures, and the natural beauty of the surroundings creates an enriching experience. Montalvo Arts Center stands as a captivating destination where nature, art, and history harmoniously converge for a memorable family outing.

Beautiful venue -- for casual hikes, walking around the gardens, or just picnicking on the grassy lawn. Note that there's a narrow road coming in and only one or two small lots.I've been here a few times to just explore and picnic. Sometimes they'll have events here in the busy season (weddings, prom photos, etc.) but it's a great place to sit and enjoy the sun when it's quieter.

Beautiful house & gardens, a taste of Neo-Classical & Mediterranean Italy amidst the redwoods & buckeyes. Free & open for the public wander the grounds & exteriors of the house. Miles of maintained trails going up the hillside. Unique art scattered all around, plus a small garden of exotic plants & cacti too. Plenty here for a brief family outing & picnic!

Inquired about having a wedding here last year. The wedding and event manager who gave me and my partner a tour was Bri. She is a gem! Not only was she professional and responded timely, but she really tried her best to cater to the couples by putting herself in their shoes and accommodating their requests to the best of her abilities. My partner and I inquired about having an intimate ceremony at Montalvo. Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart we were told this was no longer an option by the time we decided to move forward with Montalvo. The other options offered here are too far from my partner and my budget; therefore, we cannot hold a wedding here. However, for any couple who has the financial capacity to book a wedding here, I highly recommend it!

Montalvo's Carriage House is a wonderful place to see a show. Parking is relatively easy. Staff is friendly. Venue is very small with great sound. We saw Dave Mason. He and his band were fantastic. Beer is only sold before the show unless there is an intermission. Attendees can be a bit stuffy,..
