The bakery at Safeway Saratoga is out of this world. I cannot thank Vanessa and her team enough for all of their careful attention, creativity and most of their CARE to create beautiful and delicious special occassion cakes. The Bakery team has been helping me with my important family cakes as well of those for each of my employees for several years now. Each and every cake is Special and Unique to reflect the individual that is being celebrated. The Safeway Saratoga Bakery team has truly become a trusted and debendable part of my life. Their creations give such happiness to those receiving their carefully created delicious creations! This team always goes above and beyond. I am so appreciative of thier effort and care.

I needed some help with customer service and the florist Paula was unfriendly. She had raised her finger and pointed saying she heard me but never acknowledged me. Great Safeway but not a nice customer experience with employee.

It was a pleasant Monday morning on 2/15 around 10:15, I was buying some lobsters, suddenly a man came to me saying I was not allowed to pick specific pieces, (I actually didn't while I bought the prior 4.) Then he emotionally said that they don't want to sell me lobsters, I also realized that he was too close to me w/o observing social distance, so I move away to maintain some distance. This manager then blamed me for some blood drops leaked from my meat packs and requested to repack. I refused because I don't want to stay indoor too long due to the panda I. I could have told him that there were many meat were leaking blood at the packed meat display and why he didn't care. It was a bad experience shopping at my neighborhood Safeway, which I've been delightful for their market driving quality, every staffs were so friendly with helping attitude. I hope this 1 star is a wake up call because they use to be the marquee super market in Silicon Valley.

What makes a franchise grocery store stand out is its people. Angel, the store manager and his young male coworker (sorry blonde, I didn't write down your name) made magic happen and worth a shoutout. I by mistake left my credit card on one of the vendor machine in the front. Desperate as I was, I asked for help. An older female worker on the checkout line, kept telling me from 10 feet away there is nothing they can do and I had to call the 800 number on the machine, except there is no 800 number. She is not carved out for empathy and customer service for sure. I suggest for further on-job training for her. The the young, boyish looking store manager came over, his name is Angel. He kept trying every key he has on the machine, then called his stores director, then write down my name and number, he even tried to go back to he machine to see if there is anything he can do to open the machine, instead of just sending verbal, defeating and condescending comment like his female staff. AFter 30 min, Angel was still trying, his young, blonde male coworker tried to work with him to help. While I couldn't wait any longer, I asked Angel to give me a call when the credit card is retrieved. I was told it probably won't happen till the following morning. 15 min later, I received a phone call from Angel, he got my credit card. Safeway in Saratoga Sunnyvale road is lucky to have Ange and his coworker to be the store's face and core, Thank you, Angel, your customer service is off the chart and deserve a medal and recognized.

We have been ordering food for outside pick up due to the pandemic. The last two times I placed an order in the morning only to find the earliest pick up time was between 6 and 8 PM. Both times I picked up my groceries only to get home and find paid for items were missing. The first time I was told to come back so I parked and called in to get no answer. I then went into the store and had to look for someone to talk to. The first three clerks just shrugged and said they did not know anything about it. After about 15- 20 minutes inside I was able to locate help and leave with the items. Today I again ordered only to return home without one item. I again called and was told to return and come in. I stated that I ordered pick up to avoid coming into the store. They agreed to bring it out. When I got there a clerk and a manager came out. The manager told me I had not paid for the item. I showed her my receipt and she then went back and returned with another cheaper brand of the same item. I took it rather than continue the fight but I am totally frustrated with their attitude and lack of service.

This store is a smaller than normal Safeway location. However, I choose to shop here because it's not as busy. While there may be lines for check out, the self check out aisle is usually quick and available. They are staffed by helpful staff and it seems the staff is always pretty busy as there's not a ton of staff and they seem to do a lot. The store can sometime look messy in the produce aisle as it seems like there's enough business here that items have high turnover. One thing I would note is on a recent trip, most of the avocados were getting close to the point of being rotten. I know the store needs to make money but seems like they should remove older produce items so they are not selling produce that is not peak of freshness.

This Safeway location has an employee named Beverly who is just the rudest person you will ever meat. She yells at customers in line who do not move fast enough for her. She treats customers with little to no respect. She is demanding, argumentative, rude, confrontational, and sarcastic. I felt very mistreated by her that last time I stood in her line. I can only imagine that she gets complaints often. I will likely not shop at this location unless I have to.

11.18.2020 1215pm. I am an Utility Worker and I passed by this Safeway and needed to use the restroom. So I made a stop. After exiting the restroom. The produce stocker in a loud voice as I was passing. "Go to another store". WOW!!! I didn't know the restroom here was exclusive. It have never happened before. This employee should not be working near the public.

This is the worst Safeway around in my opinion. Food selection has gone downhill, some cashiers acting smugly like they are the police, deli counter worker's are rarely out front ready to take your order. The place doesn't seem to be managed well at all. Best to stay away and go somewhere else.

Note to everyone. The express lane 6 that says 15 items or less is definitely not. The past 5 times I've been here shopping I've had less than 10 items....., I've had to wait for the jerks in front of me that have a full shopping cart... literally the past 5 out of 5 visits in the past 3 weeks.

Helpful staff and I was looking to making a quick exit. Sadly the self check lanes were closed (??) and it took a long time to pay and leave.

This Safeway has always been bad, but has sunk to new lows. Please shut it dow and give Saratoga shoppers the shopping experience you offer other communities. It's dirty, smelly, understaffed, expired products on the shelves.

Please, be aware that this store doesn't care about the safety of their customers. I suffered numerous injuries there by slipping and falling on a broken GLASS bottle of oil on 08/01/2020. I was bleeding and no one even helped me, no one even asked if I need medical assistance, and no one (like store manager or director) even apologized. They only started cleaning the floor from oil and my blood after I left to the washroom to clean myself up and take care of my wounds. Nobody cleaned the floor from oil and broken pieces of glass before the accident. Nobody even placed signs around the spilled oil that I could have noticed before I fell...

In light of the Corona virus, this Safeway is being irresponsible. No limit on the number of customers in the store at one time. No requirement for customers to wear masks. Employees wearing their masks below their noses. The store manager says he can't enforce mask wearing because Santa Clara County is not requiring it. But it also isn't corporate policy. The Safeway corporation can have a mask policy. Most other grocery stores require mask wearing and those are the stores we will be going to. Safeway is at the bottom of our list for grocery shopping. I suggest others do the same.
