I was visiting a friend in Santa Cruz and we stopped in Miss Jessie May's. This store was really awesome. Loved all the vintage jewelry postcards and pottery. Definitely worth checking out!

I love this little antique shop in downtown Santa Cruz On the Pacific Garden Mall. There are so many cool antique and vintage treasures. Numerous styles of vintage jewelry to choose from. I favor the Victorian lockets and Native American silver jewelry. And there's a great selection of sterling silver and gold rings. Lots of kitschy and fun memorabilia of so many types as well. Every time I come in I find newly added things and it's always quite fun to look around and see what’s there! A great place to buy unusual gifts.

I love to stop in here whenever I'm in town. There is always something interesting to see. I love the vintage jewelry! And on my most recent trip I found some really cool vintage lighters. Very unusual and rarely seen ones. Check it out!

I came to visit from Connecticut to visit some family, and I love to walk around and see all the antique stores and clothing stores that are here in California. This was also the first time I’ve ever been to Santa Cruz. So, I walked into this store and I was interested in looking around. Now to mention, I have a backpack on and I have it on because I was buying things and wouldn’t be able to fit them into a purse. Also to top it off my backpack has NEVER been an issue in any other store in California. I walk in and I ask to borrow an outlet because my phone was on 10%. I asked her (The Owner) if I could charge my phone and while it was charging I can look inside the store browse around. She looked at me and said “well you’re going to have to wait a minute.” I said “Ok, not a problem at all” so I stepped aside. She mentioned she was having “electrical issues” and said had asked me to move aside after I had already moved aside. I felt awkward just standing there so I said “it’s honestly no big deal”, so I walked to the back of the store and was minding my business and looked at the stuff in the back. She came to the back I believe to help a customer, and said “excuse me, haha your backpack”, with attitude in her tone. Mind you there was college kids in there with backpacks on and she wasn’t bothering them! I walked out and couldn’t believe how snobby she acted. So to gather this up, the owner was EXTREMELY RUDE, she could have handled this in a WAY nicer way. You do not ever treat your customers and guest like this. Or tourist!
I hope your business treats you like you treat your guests.

As they name of this shop implies, this business offer a very nice array of Antiques and Collectables. They are located right in the heart of the Santa Cruz Shopping District on Pacific Avenue. So, they are easy to find. And, of course, there is tons of parking surrounding this area, so that should never be a problem. Once you walk into the store you will find tons and tons of all kinds of stuff. Items like their jewelry and small things like that are keep in glass cases, so they are easy to look at and study. And, of course, they will take them out for you if you want to analyze them closer. Plus, they have all kind of others things. A never-ending, always changing variety of all kinds of antique items. One of the fun things that I saw at this shop on my last visit was they had a great collection of Asia orientated magazines from the 1950s in excellent condition. You never known what you will find! The prices here are very reasonable. This is one of those shops that you can go into and buy that very unique gift or purchase that something that you never knew you needed.

This store is the mecca for vintage jewelry! There’s a wide assortment of sterling silver, estate and beautiful costume jewelry. The prices are fair and reasonable. It’s a collective, with six ladies, each with their own style of offerings! They are always friendly and helpful in finding the right gift or treat to myself. Lots of pictures and decorative vintage items as well. Best shop in downtown Santa Cruz by far!!

This shop is beautiful! I truly have never seen such special pieces at any other antique shop. My sister got me this ceramic jewelry box for my birthday and I was just so surprised to see it sitting there- exactly my taste and I wasn’t on the hunt that day but I envisioned a jewelry box exactly like this on my list of things I needed

I wasn't searching for anything in particular, but I found two items I knew I had to take home. I did so and I'm so glad. While I was browsing I overheard a gentleman talking to the woman on desk. I had the feeling he wasn't about to buy anything, but merely liked to talk about the items he found interesting, and yet the person on desk, was always pleasant and patient. I believe he got what he paid for, her friendliness was freely granted. The care with which the customer was treated, encouraged me to continue to explore and when I did finally make my purchases I felt I was supporting the business as well as the kind of professional courtesy that makes this community a good place to call home. Thank you to Miss Jessie May and company. May I also mention that my favorite local nonprofit, Project Purr, that helps rescue cats benefitted from my purchases, so add another star to the value of this experience. Thank you, Don

There was nothing interesting to me in the store. Of course, that's fine. My issue is the sign on the door instructing patrons to remove their masks, upon entering the store. The nerve is unreal. A woman in a mask happened to walk in and I waited to see if she was going to be bothered for it. The customer said hello, the woman behind the counter shot her a look and said nothing. I have no idea if she asked her to remove her mask, after I left. I could not stay because the smell of mildew was triggering my allergies. Here's a tip: Some people need to wear a mask. You certainly can choose *not* to but you don't have a right to ask someone else not to do so. I noticed a lot of people in Santa Cruz are wearing masks. If people want to protect their health like this, let them.

Have you ever walked into store and felt out of place, misrecognized -- or treated poorly? This was my experience twice at this shop. The first time was a few year ago when I went in to purchase a Native American necklace and was completely ignored despite my inquiry into the item on display. I was not asked to see it nor further considered. Most recently I went in to inquire if they would be interested in purchasing some items that I no longer hold sentimental value for nor do I use. I thought that rather than giving them away at the Goodwill or discarding them, selling them for whatever they would give would be a better process. Someone else may find value and enjoyment in these items, and I would be happy knowing that they would eventually find their "home." Once again I felt mistreated, unconsidered and misrecognized. Twice one of the owners indicated that I come back to show the items, I called, stopped by and on all of these occasions I was told time and time again to come back until eventually, in the context of a phone call I was told they were not interested in purchasing these items. I would have appreciated the straightforward answer since the beginning. Rather than wasting our mutual time -- honesty and sincerity, as well as professionalism and treating all clients with care and attentiveness is a must of any business, especially businesses that sell a significant number of cultural and ethnocentric items yet are quick to disavow and misrecognize those of use who are and have ties such such cultural ethnic communities, specifically Indigenous peoples. Santa Cruz's racism and bigotry is veiled under the presumption of being open and inclusive yet the reality is far from this.
