Gorgeous building outside and inside. Historic, beautifully decorated, well maintained with a Spanish theme that is to die for. Frankly a visit to Santa Barbara without a visit to the courthouse is just incomplete!

It is absolutely necessary to visit this courthouse which is still in operation; the architecture is magnificent, of Spanish and Arabic inspiration. Do not hesitate to circulate in the corridors and courtrooms, the courthouse is in activity but is open to the public. Don't miss going up to the top of the tower for the view. Be careful, there is a strict security search, with metal detectors, make sure you don't have anything dangerous in your bags.

We took a guided tour led by a very knowledgable docent and learned about the history of the building, of Santa Barbara, and of California. I grew up in Santa Barbara County and I learned A LOT. Highly recommend!

Beautiful courthouse building with happily married couples everywhere and, as the cherry on top, an amazing tower with breathtaking views of the coastline! The staff was nice too.

Security guy on front gate is super rude. TSA airport guys are kindergarten kids compared to him. What a shame to be with so inappropriate behavior for people who visiting one of the best California's landmarks.
