“I was finally convinced to come try this gym with a buddy, Samantha Warner. This gym is a full service location. Need cardio? They’ve got you. Need lifting? They’ve got you. Need range of motion? They’ve got you. They give some tutorials to start and then give 1 on 1 guidance support as needed. Sectioning for workouts are broken up by day and they have screens to give you predictability. The coaches Bolden and coach Kyle are knowledgeable and supportive and will challenge you in a way that makes you want to move a mountain. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be back!”

“Such a great class. I really enjoy the Pilates classes here. My main focus is my strength and flexibility and these classes definitely help with that. I've been coming here for just a few sessions now, and the instructor is excellent and very friendly. If you're ever on upper state and looking for a Pilates class, give it a try.”

“Amina is one of my favorite trainers in Santa Barbara. She pushes me out of my comfort zone into developing new skills and building my strength, and does it with a smile, a ton of love and all while keeping it fun. “As a grandmother of two young children, I am thrilled to take the little ones to My Gym in Santa Barbara, a jewel of a resource run by Charles, a man with a vision and understanding of child development. .Once at My Gym, the kids kick off their session with circle time of stretches, dances and skill practice, followed by activities that change virtually every ten minutes. From mini-zip lining to swinging in animal-shaped swings to balancing on boards, the kids pack in a lot of activities, all leading to independent time where the adults sit back and the children develop their inner resources, exploring a tub of toys, including the teapot my grandson loves to use to pour imaginary tea.Following independent time, the session comes to a close, again in the circle, with a puppet show, in which Charles or Quinn or another talented kids coach tells a story with colorful animal puppets before leading the tykes in the "Time to Say Good-Bye Song" hands waving and kids ready to dart over to get their hands stamped with little animal figures.Fun!”

“Curves Santa Barbara is a great place for busy working women to quickly workout, build muscle and increase strength. Their hydraulic resistance equipment is ready to use and addresses my upper body, lower body and my core. A big plus; the equipment doesn't require any adjusting, you just get on and go! I even add a few yoga poses to my workout routine. I am gaining strength and building muscles while enjoying a fast work out, meeting new friends, and the trainer/manager Denise, featured in these pictures, makes working out so much fun. She's an inspiration!”

I have my boys, but she was very sweet in allowing me to have them hang in the couch area while I did my first session. I did enjoy the people and the experience and will be returning. “This place is tucked right behind a restaurant next to a climbing gym. You would miss it if not paying attention. I stayed in Santa Barbara for a month and chose this gym strictly because it does month to month with no initiation fees (almost unheard of). The parking is at REI which is a quick walk. The gym itself isn't fancy by any means but all the equipment is in solid shape with everything you need from weights, cardio etc. on two levels. I recommend this for anyone staying in SB for a couple months or if you prefer a nice quaint gym long term.”

However, I haven't been able to reach results of losing 10lbs and 5% body so efficiently, until I completed Will's 6 week challenge.This actually works!!! Will is knowledgeable, motivating, and consistent with his workouts. From eating right to ensuring you're making the right movements, Will delivered. I highly recommend his program, expertise, and overall service. I'll be continuing his workouts and hope others get a chance to experience these results. “I personally like Uptown location best. It’s spacious, offers a lot of classes and the front staff is welcoming & friendly. They offer towels and the sanitizing wipes are always stocked. It gets busy but I was always able to find a parking spot. My health insurance offers Active & Fit program however the Santa Barbara Golds Gyms do NOT participate in that program. I was staying in Santa Barbara for two months and this was the closest gym to my housing so that why I went with it. They have some great merchandise to purchase as well which made my memory of Santa Barbara that much better! Out of all the gyms in the are (I did tour many) Golds had everything I wanted to optimize my workouts. I’m a class girlie and having many classes to choose from was super important to me.”

“I live in Santa Barbara part time and I love the classes at this YMCA. Every instructor is amazing. I enjoy going here. I recently had an issue with my membership and I made several attempts to resolve so I made one last attempt today before I lost my mind over it. Tracie (sp?) the new manager called me back she was great. She needed to talk me off the ledge and she did in a very professional and kind manner. She didn't shy away from a difficult conversation, she stepped up and worked it out with me. Thank you for your willingness to call me back and discuss!”

“Been a member for years. You definitely get what you pay for, classes are included in your monthly fee which is $199 a month. Honestly, that's a great price if you're using the gym everyday like I do it's basically $7 a day if you break it down (girl math) the Earthbar is great for a quick protein shake or açaí bowl. They have indoor and out door locker rooms, with steam and sauna and they just added cold plunges a while back. The personal trainers are great as well, I've been seeing mine for the past 3 months who is phenomenal. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Other than their sister club in Goleta this is by far the best gym in Santa Barbara.”

“This is a great gym. They have everything you need. This is a relatively new location. I can't remember what was here before, maybe the horse/western business i think...They are tucked in next to the dispensary and yellow belly. Across the street from chicken ranch. Kind of hard to see them unless you know where they are. It's right where de la vina becomes one way at constance. If you're looking for a new, better gym experience, this is the place for you. Check em out.”

“Hasn't changed much in 25 years. Good no-frills gym, pretty well equipped for cardio upstairs, and weight training downstairs.DB's go to 125 lbs.Bummer that they did not open on time 10/11/23. Many people waiting. Do better! It's 2023, intall remote door locks or something. Opening on time is most important for those of us there at 5:00 AM.10/11/23 10:00 a.m. update: management reached out to me to apologize for late opening, I accept. “My personal coach Aydin has been first class. He is a teacher at heart. He stays constantly with you and analyses each of your movements and how to improve. He helps me focus not only on efficient exercises but also on feeling the specific muscles. We discuss nutrition as well. I lost 10 lbs in 1.5 months. Always kind and encouraging. In my opinion, he’s the best coach you can hope for.”

“I used to attend the Y and this place is so much better. No kids are taking up the pool with lessons whenever I want to swim. The jacuzzi is HUGE and wonderful. And the 3 levels make it nice for a spacious visit. The front desk people are very friendly and helpful. The showers are powerful enough. There are so many machines I have a hard time deciding what to do next. You may have to wait a minute but that's good for practicing patience. And there's not a bunch of old creeps staring at you....All in all I love this gym!”
