South Coast VW – Honest, Transparent, and Thoughtful Service
I recently took my vehicle to South Coast VW for an oil change, and I had a fantastic experience thanks to both Service Advisor Nick Pierdominic and Technician Alex Carbajal. Their professionalism and integrity made all the difference during this visit.
Service Advisor: Nick Pierdominic
Nick was my main point of contact and did a great job guiding me through the entire process. He was clear and transparent about the service, never pushing unnecessary repairs, and took the time to ensure I understood what was happening with my vehicle. His customer service was top-notch, which made the experience smooth and stress-free.
Technician: Alex Carbajal
Alex worked on my vehicle, and I was impressed by his thoroughness and honesty. During the oil change, Alex noticed that the drain plug bolt was previously damaged and could potentially strip if removed. To avoid causing a leak or further damage, Alex decided to use a siphoning method to remove the oil instead of draining it through the plug.
What is Siphoning?
Instead of removing the oil drain plug, which could have resulted in a stripped bolt and a possible oil leak, Alex used an oil siphon to extract the oil. This process involves using a pump to remove the oil through the dipstick tube, ensuring that the oil change was still completed without risking damage to the oil pan or the drain plug. While this method can take a little longer, it’s a great alternative when there’s a risk of damage with the traditional drain method.
Honesty and Integrity
Alex was completely upfront about the issue and took the time to explain why siphoning was the best solution in this situation. Rather than creating a bigger problem by forcing the drain plug, he prioritized the health of my vehicle, which I really appreciated. Both Nick and Alex showed great integrity by informing me of the problem and working around it in the most responsible way possible.
Overall Experience
I left South Coast VW feeling confident that my car was well taken care of. Nick and Alex’s transparency, honesty, and commitment to doing the right thing have earned my trust. The worst car buying experience ever. The sales manager named Sean was very rude and not helpful at all. The car was to be ready for pickup after 3 days then 4 days, then 1 week, the 10 days and finally Sean promised it will be ready in two weeks, so after two weeks we drove for 2 hours from San Diego to Tustin but the the car was not ready and we did not get a curtesy call to let us know that the car is not ready. No apology and no explanation. I will never ever buy from this place again.

Service Department At South Coast Volkswagen VERY BAD Service NO STARS - We Got There And Was Greeted By Nick Pierdominic And He Was Nice And Even Noticed My 2015 Beetle Remote Battery Was Not Working So He Replaced At No Charge And After Worked On Our Paper Work And My Dad Was There With Him Going Over The Oil Change Costs, After 2 Days Of The VW Beetle Being There He Texted & Called Saying That The Back Mechanics Would Be Sending A Video Of The Car Going Over All Items Found On There Report So After Another Day Of Waiting Nick Called And Went Over The Report Saying That The Transmission Was Leaking Minor Oil Spots & Water Pump Was Also Leaking Water Spots So At That Time My Dad Told Nick We Had Extended Warranty And Nick Offered To Call Them To Get Approval So My Dad Send Him The Extended Warranty Information And He Did Check With Them And Got Them To Go Look At The Car Needed Repairs And That Extended The Car Stay There For Over A Week And Once Extended Warranty Approved The Water Pump And Denied The Transmission Replacement Because They Found No Reason To Replace And My Dad Even Called Our Extended Warranty To Confirm And They Told My Dad There Was No Reason To Replace Transmission, I Just Want Say The Dealer Service Department Wanted Over
$ 13,000.00 For Repairs And Only The Water Pump Ended Up Replaced, Most Importantly In The Process Of My 2015 Beetle Being There In There Back Parking The Fender Driver Side Was Dented And When We Called Nick He Said We Should Of Saw It Before Leaving And They Would Not Cover It, I'm Very Disappointed In This Dealership & Service Department & Advisor And Will Never Go Back To This Dealership For Purchasing A New Vehicle Or Service, WE ARE UPLOADING PICTURES OF OUR DAMAGES SO YOU ALL CAN SEE, Be Aware Of Always Looking At Your Vehicle When You Pick It Up Your Vehicle There Don't Treat Your Vehicle With Proper Care There At All, My Dad Got Quotes For Fender Damages And Will End Paying $ 965.00 For Damages Made At South Coast Volkswagen Service Department, I Believe The Service Advisor Could Have Done More To Help And Did Not, We Are Sharing Our Experience, Thank You All For Reading And Wish You Best Of Luck!

With more than 20 years in the auto industry, I couldn't resist sharing my experience with this dealership. When buying a car, people expect speed, friendliness, and fairness. This dealer impressed me by having all three. They were the first to respond to my inquiry—I hit 'send' on my email and the phone instantly rang. Jose Chavez sealed the deal effortlessly within minutes. The pricing was fair, and he was accommodating to my preferences. We scheduled a pickup appointment for the next day.
I received numerous calls and emails from other Volkswagen dealerships during this time, none matched the level of service and communication provided by Jose Chavez.
