En serio, Van Ness Market should be called Van Ness Bodega. Wondered in here last night and discovered they closed at 9:30 p.m. Came back tonight and perused the aisles and found things I'd normally get at Target or Walmart here. Price is a little higher than Target or Walmart but the convenience of not having to drive there makes it worth it. I used to live by a corner market in Anaheim (the one Gwen Stefani walks into in the Sunday Morning video) and they didn't carry items like Van Ness Market does: adult DVD's, fake eyelashes, liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, Aqua Net hairspray (yes!), Dove soap, Colgate toothpaste, all kinds of refried beans, Negro Modelo, every kind of flaming hot chip brand, candy galore, PAN DULCE..and so much more! The only thing that could make this store better is if they took online orders and delivered! Van Ness is legit!

Love Louie and the family! Very kind and pleasant to all of us in the neighborhood. I usually make a pit stop to get my favorite snack - those crazy "japanese peanuts". Yessum! You guys rock!! :)
