I should have read the reviews at this location. I'm so pissed I prepaid for a car that they didn't reserve and they have the nerve to tell me I can go back to any budget tomorrow to switch it out. I paid over $1000 to have the car for 18 days. They only have convertible mustangs, electric cars or big trucks right now. And tried to tell me I was upgraded for free. I rent a lot of cars for work but will not use this brand again. Im so mad at myself for selecting prepay.

Super bad customer service. Budget was the only rental in terminal with a line; waited in line an hour, finally signed contract, went downstairs to garage to find out they have no cars, about 15-20 people were waiting on cars. They had overcommitted and did not have capacity for rentals demand. They were asking people to just wait till someone turned in a car and it got cleaned. No clear timeline. They acted as if it would have been impossible to alert terminal staff that they actually had no cars so people could seek alternatives. I said I could not wait any longer, they said I could cancel, I said okay and they billed me anyway, now I must spend time hassling getting refund. A completely uniquely lame experience.

Employees behind the counter are friendly and all of the cars we got in had full tanks, but that's about all the good that can be said about this Avis/Budget location. Each car we had in had mechanical problems AND were filthy! They don't wash cars, nor have a vacuum on site apparently. One vehicle had a transmission issue and barely made it out of airport parking garage to have to turn around. Then another had dings, dents, white markings all over it, along with food and trash everywhere to include what looked to be blood splattered over the headliner, not to mention the driver door panel was falling off inside. One vehicle shook so hard, when you tried using the brakes on the highway, your teeth would rattle and there was almost no controlling the car. At a certain point you ask yourself is the grass greener on the other side and realize you have wasted half a day, precious vacation time, continuing to wait in line, talk to a manager, and figure out which vehicle they wanted to throw at you next. All, while they're treating you as if your trying to cheat the system and pull a fast one on them. So, you are forced to accept and deal with a vehicle that makes you upset every time you have to drive it and stresses you out due to the worrying about the safety and reliability of it. The only way you'll see me getting a car from here again is if it is free. My last trip wasn't anywhere near this bad, just had to continue figuring out what car they wanted to give us since they never have the car you book, and give you the side eye if you tell them you have zero clue or desire to deal with an electric vehicle.

What a terrible pickup experience. After waiting 20 minutes at the “fast pickup, we received a dirty vehicle on the inside and outside. When we went back to address the situation we were told no other vehicle was available. No apology. No “let me get the vehicle cleaned”. Nothing! So much for the “worry free clean promise”.

Terrible customer service. They have overcommitted so they don't actually have the cars ready and on hand. Very slow wait in terminal line, then get to parking structure and told 15 min till car arrives but people standing around report they have been waiting 30 min. After waiting in line 30 min in terminal. Ugh

The vehicle was great, but the optional services were not explained well and nobody mentioned that their price is per day. At the time of signing the deal the employee said the total price to be $250.00 including the insurance and toll (which he said for $10.00 I get unlimited toll), but when I returned the car I got +$270.00 just for the insurance and toll. In the end I ended up paying more for optional services than the rental car and instead of paying $250.00, I was charged $514.00. Part of it is my fault for not taking a better look at the contract, but compared to Budget I never had this treatment from other rental companies.

This location put us in 3 unsafe vehicles.The first one had 3 bad tires.Second transmission slipped.Third the tires are falling apart.We are driving back to California from Vegas and hope we do not have a blow out. You should be able to rent a car and not feel unsafe like we are at this moment in time while driving 238 miles back to California.

Reserved a Ford Mustang Convertible for $700/week months before the trip. Got to airport the lady there was very nice & helpful BUT no Convertibles available none not her fault upper managements fault. Had to settle for a Chevy Malibu white 4 door. No Price reduction at time of pick up some software problem that would charge me 2x the price. She did remove the refuel charge on drop off. When I returned the car 10/14/23 about 12pm at John Wayne Airport the drop off employee told me no reduction in price I asked 3-4 times but Anthony said no kinda rude. So I disputed the charges with my Bank of America Visa and submitted documents to support my case. As of 10/19/23 the price deference was about $300 less from a Convertible to a 4 door sedan. I would have settled for a $200 refund at the airport on 10/14/23 drop off. But after all of this waisted time. I request a $300 refund. Rented thru Expedia I will let them know about this also. The car next morning had a leaky tire in the right rear had to pay $2 to fill it & $30 to get it plugged sending in that receipt too. Not very happy with your service.

Do NOT rent a car from the CLT airport! We arrived early in the morning. Despite our reservation, a car was not available. After waiting thirty minutes or so, a car was brought up to us. We drove in the dark, in the rain, over a 100 miles. Later we realized 3 of 4 tires were bald and the brakes shuddered. Additionally, one front air bag was turned off, headlights were not working properly (had to drive with hi-beams on), dashboard lights indicated maintenance was needed! We risked our lives. Customer service, roadside assistance, and rental manager did nothing to help us! No one even apologized and I bet you anything, the car went right back on the road! Never rent from Budget!!!

Rented a car recently. Their customer service was average, but their lot is huge. First of all, the evening we picked up our vehicle--there was plenty of cars to choose from. The person who helped us, picked a vehicle all the way at the end of their lot. If you've ever been there, you'd know that getting a vehicle at the end was totally ridiculous. Grabbing the car was super easy. Although if you have an issue, you would have to make the trek all the way back to their office. Returning was a bit confusing as well. I hope you have good parking skills, because this area is Super compact.

I love that the car rental is within the airport. The car size that I had reserved was not available so I ended up with a flat bed truck which I didn't want because of parking in Los Angeles and the gas prices. But they offered me a credit to make up for it. The process was very simple but because it is a small airport getting in and out of the rental car lane was a little annoying.

First of all, when arriving at SNA, there was no signage as to where to go as a FastBreak member. I had to wait in line at the regular desk only to be told vague directions to the garage where FastBreak was. I went there, and both employees were not paying attention, looking at their phones, until I said something after standing there in front of them for a couple of minutes. I then was told to just go to the little kiosk and they'll assign me a vehicle. I walk up, and the lady was definitely ready to leave and just trying to hurry. She searched through keys and just gave me some random ones. I reserved, MONTHS in advance, a hybrid, and yet again, Budget didn't have the vehicle I paid for. I ended up with a Jeep, which was odd to drive and not what I paid for. It had paint dings all in it and was dirty on the inside. When we had taken it to the beach, we pulled out of a parking garage and approached a light, then the vehicle just shut off. The power was on, but the check engine light was on and the vehicle wouldn't do anything. We sat there, thankfully in low traffic, blocking lanes, with a vehicle that wouldn't move. After about 20 minutes, I tried to start it again, and it finally came back on. The whole rest of the trip we were concerned this would happen again, especially on a highway, so we had to limit our ability to take it places in fear of that. This has to be the WORST Budget experience I've ever had, and I've been a member for years.

Christian was our guy and he made us feel so welcome and was eager to provide amazing customer service! Friendly, efficient and helpful. He encouraged us to drive a beautiful Genesis sedan which was an awesome experience! Clean, beautiful and well-maintained car. Check-in and check-out was seamless. Extremely fair pricing. Highly recommend!

Budget at John Wayne is the farthest rental kiosk in the parking garage, so the walk is quite far from the elevators to the Budget counter. They had only one car to offer in the full-size class I chose which is not good. Car itself was mediocre at best -- air would blow warm while idling at stoplights and turning the ignition to start was difficult.

Jaylen was speedy and amazing and made our experience incredible after a long flight. He was so friendly, and I’ve never actually had fun checking in to pick up a car. Cannot recommend more highly!!
