“It's Halloween season and the Vallejo farmers market is ready with seasonal produce. As before I didn't spot carving pumpkins. I assume you have to go to a pumpkin patch. The fruits of the season, plums, persimmons and more were displayed in bountiful splendor. The fruits of the sea were well represented- oysters, fish, shrimp. Wish I had noticed this last time. I could have planned a little better and gotten something going. One of the venders was selling Asian dim sum treats. But I had loaded up on vegetables from my fav farmer. I was too loaded to carry anymore long before I got all the items on my wishlist. Clearly, I need to get a little shopping cart. Or perhaps the market does?As usual the parking was busy. Ended up parking in an empty lot that belonged to a business. Luckily they were closed. But shhhh....”

“Small and plenty. The location and parking is quick and easy. The vendors and quality is great. I was able to get the yummiest spicy hummus and fresh pita chips. Produce and the deals were great and very nice customer service. I posted a pic (1/2 eaten) of J & J Farms Trail mix because for $5 not only was it a great amount the nuts are fresh and the raisins were plump and juicy. I'd like more raisins personally. Now I know why my in-laws are often wanting this farmers market to be in their Saturday morning routine. Next time, I'm getting some authentic Filipino cuisine, Dinuguan and got to try some lumpia because one must treat themselves. Also. I've been looking for local honey and this spot also has a vendor.”

“No battles for parking (use the Safeway lot) - veggies at Yasi -bread at La Farine - vino from Vino and round out your mini trip to France with coffee at Coles. If you try you can hear footsteps on cobblestone.”

“I received the Black Mission Fig and Four Citrus Marmalade as a Christmas gift and they are both amazing. A spoon full of the fig jam on plain yogurt may be one of the best things I've ever eaten.”

“Eles tem picanha, o que maravilha!!! A carne deles é muito bom galera. On Sunday before watching the niners game we were craving some good meat to grill on our barbecue grill Since I live in Hercules, I wanted to go as somewhere local. Safeway is real close to me but the meat isn’t very good there. This place has great cuts. They also have meats that are seasoned and also meats that is marinated in spices and ready to be grilled. Feeling lazy and craving guacamole and salsa, they have it and make it fresh daily. So if you live in Pinole or Hercules look no further and a void the long lines at Safeway or Sprouts, this is your spot for your meats.”

“Wonderful spot! They have an amazing selection of products, things no other market has. I was surprised to find pasture raised eggs, grass fed beef sticks and other health friendly foods. They also have amazing kombucha on tap. Definitely stop by this place it doesn’t disappoint AND the owner Marcos is the sweetest guy I’ve ever met. 10/10”

“This is a great local grocery store with better produce than Safeway and much more convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful and they don't need multiple security guards and gates at the exit. They also carry great local products that are better than national brands. This is my go to for day-to-day groceries.”

“I love Berkeley Bowl because they have fabulous fruits and vegetables - - both organic and conventional. They are really on top of their produce. There are lots of people working there to keep it clean. They have discounted produce that is super ripe--ready to take home and use.I prefer going early in the morning when it's less crowded. I find their aisles to be rather narrow when someone is coming the opposite direction. It can be hard to socially distance in their isles. They have lots of variety. They have fresh fish (wild and farmed) and meat (organic and conventional). I have found the butchers to be friendly and helpful. If you are a senior, they will give you a good cup of coffee (part of my morning ritual if I am there in the morning). They have a very nice bakery if you have a sweet tooth.Their cheese section has cheese from around the world. Besides the bakery with wonderful tasting desserts, they have fresh bread. There deli has Asian foods, Mexican, and desserts. During Covid times--take out only. They clean their shopping carts between uses, and don't let too many people in at once. You put your own groceries into your own bag--unless you buy a paper bag and they then bag it for you.For me, it is kind of a cross between a coop and a large grocery store. I love what they have to offer!!!”
