We had the best experience figuring out our wedding registry. Mary guided us through the process and answered our long list of product questions. You could tell she knew what she was doing with her years of experience and what pieces were the best investment. She took her time walking us through and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Highly recommend Mary for any questions or wedding registry related things.

I am a long time loving and loyal customer of " Williams-Sonoma " chain stores. I have to admit that besides the wonderful and unique products you can find there it is very important to receive nice and professional help from the customer service /sales people. I would like to share my experience at the " Williams-Sonoma" store at Hilldale mall in San Mateo. This store is really awesome! There you will always receive professional customer service help and attention. I would especially like to thank the sales lady, Kristina. She helped me a few times with information in regards to the product I looked for and then with the gift wrapping arrangement I wanted to use. Great customer service, thank you very much!

Came in to purchase a chef knife as a gift and Paul was very helpful, knowledgeable and searched the whole store for the one I was looking for and found it ! Great help and very friendly. Though it is not clear where to go for help, nor check out, the store layout is confusing and not really any place to “stand in line”.

Received an email to go pick up an item in store that was purchased online. Upon arriving at the store, the item was not in stock. Very frustrating to make a long drive only to leave empty handed. Only solution offered was to drive 1 hour to another store or buy a floor model that would not be eligible for returns. Very disappointing!

I have been to this Williams-Sonoma location a few times and have had varying experiences. After seeing some other reviews, I thought I would share my own experience re: racism and lack of attentiveness from the workers.Usually when we come in we are more likely to browse, so we usually don't require much assistance. The store floor is generally well organized save for some piles of items near the corners of some shelves closer to the wall (attached in pictures). Generally if we wait in a pre-existing line, we have no issues checking out when we do have some items to purchase.One experience was definitely very peculiar, and it happened when we were lining up to purchase something where there was no pre-existing line. We waited in front of the counter for a solid 3-4 minutes while there was an attendant at the register looking over a large binder. At first we thought maybe she did not see us because she seemed more on the elderly side, but after a while it was clear to us that she knew of our presence (she did glance up and around us a couple of times, never looking directly at us), but it seems like whatever she was doing was more important than helping us check out.It was a really awkward experience, we didn't really know what to do because she clearly knew we were there but seems to just choose not to help us. We were only buying 1 item, but after a while we just left without buying anything.My husband and I are both Chinese if that makes a difference to anyone. It did not occur to me that race may be involved with our experience, but based on others' reviews I wonder if there's a pattern with the way we were treated.

The cashier is very rude and impatient when I checked out. I didn't hear what he said clearly and was asking him again and hoping him to repeat himeself or give me more descriptions. But he just shaked his head and smugshrug, making me feel very uncomfortable.

I've come her a few times to pick up stuff but usually they have great stock and I've called to have things put on hold for me for pick up. I have to say every time I've come here I've ALWAYS received GREAT SERVICE!!! The staff here are friendly and so personable! I love doing my shopping here for their sales when their items are a little cheaper! Today I called for their wonderful Apple cider concentrate and the woman that answered went looking for my item and she found it! FYI sale items are only put on hold for 24hrs but so worth this service! One of my FAVORITE Willam Sonoma stores to visit!!!

Awesome collection of spices for the table and cool annual in store events. The store member wants to know if I self identify as a girl with no date or a mom, but I was too busy to make my time worth it that I remembered to go in a second time to have extra samples and came to the conclusion that life is better with appreciation before cramping more good stuffs in. To take the question, I think thanksgiving dating is for older couples and I am still a well known but not famous three year old with mud all over my face who possibly never needed to be reintroduced. Life is of course better together! I am just waiting on meeting others — in a small small world like ours, being closer with each other in a mile would be huge for the magnetic field, which is possibly why serious adult like me always shop alone. Unfortunately, the store is just good enough in material latitude.

Clerks hovering over me everywhere I walk, super uncomfortable shopping experience stop trying to sell things this is not a car dealership. Or perhaps your assuming I am going to steal something. Super gross feeling.

I really don't get the negative reviews of this place. I've shopped here pretty much whenever the wife and I come to this mall. I'm Asian, and I've never observed any of the things attributed to this place in other reviews. I've never seen workers overwhelmed, and I've never felt ignored. In fact, I've pretty much had attentive, thoughtful, and professional help. Nor have I ever been treated in anything but a polite manner. I'm about to go back to see how they handle my return, and I'll probably be back again in the future.

We browsed into this store to look around. Some Spanish-speaking women went to sample edibles at the main checkout counter. They work harshly prompted by a woman without a name tag who said that the stuff was contaminated and threw them out. However, five minutes before others were just there munching away! I spoke to the same woman about a coffee maker and when I told her I just purchased a Philips Espresso maker she said that it was not Italian-made and would break down more than the Swiss one she had for sale which was $1500 more. I told her that I ordered it from Williams Sonoma and she said I could not return it unless it was defective. This woman's attitude was atrocious and if I had seen her treatment of the ladies who came by and her obvious attempts to make me have "buyer remorse" and was the manager, would have dismissed her immediately. She is not an asset to the company. Update: After reading other reviews, it seems like they all confirm with my observations (without reading them first): Rude and burn-out salespeople. I'm remiss that I didn't get their names, but we received such great service at this store. The first person we worked with was eager and communicative, she was great, but when we were connected with the knife expert, our lives were made so much easier. She has been selling knives for 30 years and really is on top of her stuff. In the end she got us a great set of knives under budget.She is the reason why you should still shop and buy in store, not online. We would've bought lower quality blades at a similar price had we not spoken with her.
