Hours online say they open at 11 but when we drove 45 mins to the location- they had a handwritten sign that said 12. We waiting for over an hour and no one showed up to open nor picked up the phone.

I wanted a custom piñata for my son's Two Fast theme bday. My coworker recommended La Piñata to me.I went in person about two weeks before I needed the piñata. I showed my inspiration photo (blue race car) and Beverly took a picture of my photo, sent a text to someone, and then told me that it would be ready by the day I needed it. Keep in mind that this transaction was done using hand signals, broken English (Bev), and broken Spanish (Me!). I used Google Translate on my phone and my husband put his Spanish to good use.The price was $65, and I was told to come after 3 on May 31. I didn't get a receipt or confirmation. I just had to trust the process!My son's nanny called for me the day of and initially there was a bit of confusion about what needed to be picked up. I had already made plans to leave work and get there by 3:30, but when she called, they told her to tell me to come after 5:30. That meant I had to drive back home, pick up my son, and then go back to San Mateo. That was a bit of a hassle.When I got there, the gentleman was nice but he wanted me to show a receipt. He finally believed that I paid and just told me to go.My advice:1. Know Spanish2. Get a receipt3. Give yourself a two to three day buffer in case the piñata isn't ready.Overall, I was pleased with the results! The store has plenty of Mexican candies and various piñatas to choose from, too, if you don't want to go the custom route.

Best place for piñatas. I stopped by a Mexican supermarket and target and could not find what I needed. Selection is great and price is reasonable.

If you say you open at 10:30am please open or update your hours. We traveled to purchase a piñata and waited till 11:15 am... still waiting. Update your hours or at least leave a message on your phone line that hours vary, would be super helpful!

Great little piñata store and market. Ordered a cute 4th of July piñata from them, and their vendor made it in less than week, and it was beautiful and just as expected.

AMAZING store! Stepped in to buy a piñata for a friend's birthday and ended up taking 2. I am from LA and I was surprised not only by the variety but also by the prices. The prices were very affordable and the quality of the piñatas was beautiful! Totally recommend for anyone in the market for piñatas, party supplies or Mexican products. The owners were so kind! I was helped by both the husband and wife and they were super sweet and kind. For the service alone I will be returning. They have the best prices in the Bay Area and even LA, can't believe they are in the middle of San Mateo.

I bought a piñata from here 4 years ago and am about to get another one very soon! You definitely get a bang for your buck. The pinatas here are QUALITY. It took a long time for someone (kids and adults) to break it at the party I got it for. Keeps the fun going, unlike pinatas from chain party stores.
