“I attended a workshop focused on creating complete, efficient, and thorough workouts while traveling and having minimal equipment at a hotel gym or in a hotel room. Jonathan was full of knowledge and valuable tips. Much of it was planned, but many times he had insightful tangents and additional insights based on his wealth of understanding and experience. It was fun, collaborative, informative, and worth the cost of money and time. The goal was to leave with more ideas in our pockets to take with us on travels for a quick and effective workout; mission accomplished!”

“Loving the McAlister Training workouts. Everyone is so welcoming & supportive. Really made me feel comfortable right off the bat. I enjoy that there is encouragement to work hard, but also plenty of room for me to take things at my own pace when needed. Also, when I struggle with certain exercises, each coach is right there with a modification!”

“I work out here and every time I get impressed at how expansive and comprehensive this facility is. It truly is a one stop shop. If you're an early riser, their early hours and shower facilities will let you start your day right. If you're an evening punching bag session sort of person, the pool is a great place to take a quick dip to relax. Everything from deadlift to laps in the pool available almost any time of day. Coming from a background of no gym membership, I truly think this place leaves you wanting for nothing. All the equipment you'd ever need is ready, are you?”

“Favorite gym I've ever been to! I think my favorite part is the tight knit community because it fosters such a supportive and motivating environment. A lot of people are jacked/intense gym rats so at first I was intimidated but everyone there is honestly so friendly. The owner, trainers, and all of the other staff members are also extremely nice and very knowledgeable about their work. Their classes are fun but challenging and the owner, Robbie, helped me improve my form sooo much. Headstrong also has a ton of strength training equipment and an outside area, so there's always something available for me to do (unlike the Cal Poly gym lol). I should add that it's also really easy to cancel/change your membership and they have a military/healthcare worker discount!”

“I have been taking gym classes there for two years. It is a wonderful place to go to. The equipment, facilities, and rooms are clean, nice and wonderful. I have built a OT community while taking classes. I really do like all of the instructors. They care, push you, and drive you. The front desk staff are great and always free at the end of class to follow up on details. I have had 4 friends join me in the last two years at this gym. My fitness strength and endurance have increase. I feel healthy and happy everytime I go. Thanks OT!”

“My husband and I were visiting SLO for the weekend and we did a drop in at CrossFit Inferno. Skylar was the coach and he was great- super welcoming and made us feel right at home. The members were great too, introducing themselves and chatting with us right when we walked in. Great community there- we will definitely be back whenever we're visiting SLO!”

“Some of the strongest guys and girls you'll ever meet train there and for good reason. If you're a serious lifter looking to up your game or compete in Strength sports there is no better place to train.”

“Just the nicest people. I was recovering from a back injury and John, Nina and Kelly were understanding and accommodating. Try the introductory offer and make it a part of your healthy habit.”

“I recall taking a few courses here in the past. It is a scenic campus and has some good classes here. Also, if I recall, when I was little, I think my family went there to see the solid gold dancers perform. If you recall the show in the 1980s, it was the thing to watch. Anyhow, staying on topic, I I like this school. It is on the outskirts of the heart of San Luis Obispo. If I recall the whole look of the school layout is similar to MPC and Foothill College.”

“I'm a visitor at this gym so my perspective of from the view of a guest. I visited this gym 16 plus years ago and had great memories. I called this time while visiting and found the guest fees were $25. I think its a little high in my opinion so it caused us to work out elsewhere in the next 2 days. The downstairs gym area has changed tremendously. I didn't use it nor am I very familiar with crossfit, so I didn't review the gym based on that. The upstairs is laid out about as good as any gym I've even been to. It's clear a bodybuilder set this up and thought about all the small details. The chest presses generally face the mirror and don't allow anyone to walk in front. The heavier dumbbells have a solo rack at waist high. Cardio machines face away from the weights. All genius. Overall, I only mark down the gym for value due to the high guest fee. Overall, if I were a local, I'd be a member and it would be a 5 star.”

“My favorite place to work out in SLO. Staff are good people and it's pretty judgement-free. Shout out to Macy! It's a bit pricey compared to planet fitness but I feel it's worth it, especially with all the amenities like the pool and hot tub. They have all the equipment you need and it's a great place to get in shape and make yourself feel good. Highly recommend Kennedy as a place to improve your health in all ways, they have weights, yoga classes, pool classes, all of it pretty much.”
