I’ve been treated at several PT facilities in SLO. This is the best: 3 outstanding physical therapists and no trainees. You always get the same therapist, which is not consistently the case at many other places. Parking and access are easy, and the front desk staff go out of their way to find appointment times that will work for you. I’ve been treated for gait and balance, neck pain , and knee issues. All excellent.

I had been dealing with strange leg and pelvis pain for months and after Paul’s assessment I learned that the pain was actually originating from my back. He helped me identify muscles on my side that were too weak and gave me a few easy exercises to add to my daily routine. After a few weeks the pain was gone!I really appreciate that the physical therapists give you their full attention throughout your appointment and you don’t get passed to an aide at any time. It’s obvious they care about your success. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Got really great help for my hurting knees from Jamie. Had been to Kaiser PT before and didn't get the knowledge and training I needed to fix them. A few weeks with Jamie and I was noticing a huge difference. I still do certain exercises years later and I haven't had my severe symptoms return.

Outstanding physical therapist. Local spinal specialist Dr. Mounts recommended Paul Teixeira for both my neck & back issues. Great physical therapy. I've used Paul also for my plantar fasciitis & problematic knees. Thank you Paul.

I've seen many PT's in this area over the years and Body & Balance is hands down the best physical therapy in the area . They take their time to listen , then treat like we were family . Five stars !

I highly recommend Body Balance Physical Therapy. A few years back, I had knee surgery and went to a different physical therapy office. They were all very nice there, but the rehab felt more suited to young athletes with sports injuries and didn’t really help me. I decided that physical therapy wasn’t that useful. I continued to have issues with my knee for a few years and it got to the point where my kneecap was dislocating frequently leaving me in pain and unable to walk for a few days. I went back to my surgeon dreading having to have another surgery and she suggested I try a different physical therapy office and then reevaluate. I started working with Jamie and could tell immediately that this place was different. He really seemed to understand why I was there: not to prep for CrossFit, but to get back to doing daily activities without pain or instability. I wanted to build a body that will support lifelong health so I can hike with my kids in 20 years. The plan Jamie had me start was really effective. I’m back to doing the things I want to do and didn’t need another surgery!!! I’m really happy I went to Body Balance. I did have a few issues reaching someone at the front desk, but they always got back to me and it was totally worth it.

You know that situation where you’re trying to get assistance from customer service but they just act like your very existence is a nuisance? That’s this place. The front desk lacks respect, is generally clueless about insurance, doesn’t offer any solutions, has no idea how their email works, and doesn’t bother to return phone calls. Unfortunately they are the gatekeeper to the services and after weeks of trying to get an appointment and basically doing all the work, I gave up and went somewhere else. The whole experience was totally unwelcoming.

I was treated here for over the course of two years. I found physical therapist and all staff to be extremely professional, polite and courteous. My physical therapist even with my permission did consult about my case other medical professionals with a high level specific expertise related to my specific medical issues. There is a reason this business has the reputation of being THE BEST physical therapy practice in SLO, not just by patients but by multiple medical (MD’s) specialist in SLO including Physical Medicine (Rehabilitate) MD’s, Orthopedic and Neurologist too.If you want to improve, get better, or even just maintain your abilities from a physical therapy Rx from your doctor, this is hands down the best option. You will be in great caring hands.Note, I have also received physical therapy at 2 other businesses in SLO, and one was for in home PT, they were okay. MIND & BODY experience was fantastic, and I can while heartedly recommend them to anyone.Bill(former long term patient)

This review is specifically for the massage therapy practice within this business. I have received massages from Heather Mullin for several years now, and am amazed at her ability to adapt and adjust her session to suit the need of the person, in the most positive and effective way. For example, my last session happened 2 days after running a marathon, and my quads were absolutely trashed. I really feared getting deep tissue work - she could so easily have reduced me to tears. Instead, after communicating with her my fears, she adjusted her usual technique to minimize pain, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated and relaxed afterwards. One of the best massages ever! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for sports massage. The venue is also very nice and welcoming, and her choice of music particularly relaxing. Enjoy!

I wish I could split my review between the physical therapist and the desk personnel. Unfortunately I cant. Therefore, I can only give this business one star. My physical therapist, Paul, seems to be knowledgeable and was informative. He kept me aware of our goals and how each exercise would help reach those goals. I would give the business a four or five stars for his part if I could. Today I called in canceling an appointment I reached voice mail as I usually do and left a message. An hour later I received a call from the desk person. I tried to explain that I was canceling due to pneumonia. At that point she became argumentative and I canceled all my future appointments too. Unfortunately Paul's help is just not worth the chance of future interactions with the person who called me. There are other physical therapists out there where I won't have to deal with argumentative staff.
