“It was my first visit to this location. It's a lot larger than the post office I usually use. It has a small-town, intimate ambiance, with the cherry wood framing and open, welcoming layout. I really liked the display of available stamps, so much so, I bought a few packs though I seldom mail envelopes. The clerk was very nice and helpful.”
“My experience was so pleasant and the employees were just so kind, helpful, and professional. The lady that helped me was named Maria she was great she was very professional and thorough about her job and made sure that I got my needs met in the most kindest way so thank you Maria for everything and making my day a lot more pleasant. To whom it may concern that lady deserves a raise or maybe a Thanksgiving bonus to show her how much she is appreciated....”
“Johnny from this post office is amazing! Helpful, kind, and customer service oriented. He helped me get a package to a buyer safely and securely. I appreciated all of your help. Sincerely, Claudia”
“I have come to this location for over 2 decades. I have always received friendly service from postal workers at this and most USPS locations for that matter. Dealing with the public can be challenging and I’m sure a postal worker at some point has had a rough day. So have I.”

3861 Smith St, Union City“This morning I was assisted by a very nice gentleman who was able to help me get my documents mailed out. I would appreciate your assistance in the future. Thank you so very much for your time and patience with me.”
“Passport service is excellent in this post office. Passport clerks are very good natured. I submitted my passport application at this post office last Monday as a walk in customer. They also provide passport service without appointment every Monday and Friday. Keep doing the good job, it’s helps people a lot. I recommend people to go there!”
“This Post Office is located in the San Leandro Plaza and is open on Saturdays!!When I do have to mail a package, this is where I go!! The main reasons for that is that they usually have multiple windows open and they are open on Saturdays, the only day that I really have time for this. Now, sometimes on said Saturdays there's a long line here, but it moves along decently. The postal workers here are friendly and polite also!!”
“I love this post office. The sistah that works in the far corner is so incredibly helpful and proficient at her job. She is so on it, that I usually leave feeling better than I walked in because she makes the experience so pleasant and clear. If it weren't for parking I would use this post office exclusively. I will say that the USPS should update the equipment. Some of the machines seem like they haven't been updated since before Regan was president.”
“This USPS location has the nicest and friendliest postmen and postwomen. They let you borrow their pen and markers, and are patient enough to share your most affordable options. I come here all the way from union city!”
“Went to the post office to ship a package and mail some letters. I arrived a little after 11:30 and the line was out the door. It took about 15 minutes before I was served. Maybe 10-10:30 is the golden hour. It would be nice if there was a dedicated parking lot, but I have a feeling the majority of patrons are walk-ups. I appreciate their constant cleanliness, knowledgeable employees, and their constant stock of domestic and international stamps.”

1333 Park Ave, Alameda“This is a hidden gem, which includes a parking lot. Wish I knew that before I found street parking, but they only had a tiny parking lot for 2 automobiles. Still good to know for the future reference. I came right before lunch and got lucky that only 1 customer was in line. The employee was nice enough to guide me on which form to fill out, because I was sending stuff to Switzerland. She helped me pick the best price for me, and process was quick.”
“I want to say, the staff is so kind and professional at this location! I lost a receipt a few weeks ago, and I couldn't see her name but the lady on the very right hand side booth bent her back trying to get my receipt I lost. Literally so kind and professional. She didn't seem annoyed at all and the nicest. I can't thank her enough for the help she gave!”
“Came in for a walk In appointment for the hours of 9-10am. There was a long line as expected, but what I really appreciate is as it was getting close to 10am, Ms. Irma and her staff did not turn those who were waiting. However. She came out and explained the options of waiting times because they do have to serve appointments too. She walked the line answering questions. I really appreciate her not turning us in line away after walk-in hours were over. Mr. Eddie processed my application in a timely manner and was very friendly, humorous and nice to chat with about traveling. I highly recommend to come with your photos & copies of Documentation as it speeds up the process when you go to the back. They all have excellent customer, thank you staff”
“My recent visit to the US Postal Service for a change of address was a mixed experience. The process itself was fairly simple and efficient, which was a relief. However, my observation with the Customer Service left me with conflicting feelings.
On the one hand, the representatives were undeniably friendly and welcomed each customer but on the other hand, I couldn't shake off a disconcerting incident I witnessed. While waiting in line, I overheard a customer, whose native language wasn't English, seeking assistance regarding fragile items. The customer selected yes, when they should’ve selected no on the keyboard. Unfortunately, they were advised by the representative to bring their own interpreter if they couldn't communicate effectively in English. This struck me as somewhat insensitive and disappointing.
While I understand the practical challenges faced by the establishment, it's crucial for them to offer language services to accommodate diverse customers. Expecting individuals to bring their own interpreters seems impractical and burdensome. The availability of toll-free numbers for language assistance should be actively promoted and utilized to ensure equal access to services and although this would require additional steps, it’s something all establishments should do.
Overall, the US Postal Service seems to strive for kindness, friendliness, and professionalism, but there's room for improvement in addressing language barriers and ensuring inclusivity.
On a positive note: I really enjoyed their large selection of greeting cards and the person who helped me was supper kind in explaining the process of changing my home addresses ?”
“I went to the post office several times over the holiday and each time it was a good experience. They were well staffed and the line moved fast. The postal employees were so nice and helpful.”
9AM - 5PM
9201 International Blvd, Oakland“Thank you David for having a smooth transaction with you. I ask an envelope and without hesitation you gave me one and you explained the normal envelope and the priority one. You're kind to me and you have patience of answering all my questions.
Thank you for helping me.”
“This post office is located on MacArthur Boulevard down the street from where I live. They normally have two to three workers at one time and I haven't had too many problems coming here to buy money orders and stamps. Lunch is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. so normally there's one person working at this time.”
“I had a great experience at this post office on Pardee Rd. in Oakland near the airport. I went to apply for a passport. I had an old one that expired more than 5 years ago. I filled out the form online, printed it at home, got passport photos at UPS, and made an appt. online. This post office was the only one that wasn't fully booked weeks and months in advance. I arrived early for my appt. at 12:15. I was shocked that the PO was nearly empty at that time of day. There was only 1 car in the parking lot. No line at customer service. The passport window opened promptly at 12 noon for another customer. The postal employee, whose name was Liana, was a gem. She was so helpful, kind, patient, and accommodating. Her radiant smile stayed in place the whole time. The passport photo I paid $20 for at UPS was no good because I was still wearing my glasses. Ms. Liana took another photo of me sans glasses. When I told her I should put makeup on first, she said I did not need any because I was pretty. I signed up to have my passport sent by regular mail in umpty-ump weeks. To my surprise, it arrived on March 29, 2-1/2 weeks later, via priority mail, which I did not pay for? I know the USPS has had a bad rap these days. They can't seem to do anything right. But on this day, everything went smoothly and I was helped by the Employee of the Year who brings credit to the agency. I'm sure there are more like her but we never hear about them, just the bad actors and the post office from hell. So if you're looking for a place to get your passport that's pleasant and fast, this is the place. You might even be able to show up as a walk-in between 9-10 am and get it done. Pass it on.”
“I haven't been to a post office for years. Lots of people still come here. We've been waiting for an appointment to obtain passports as you must have an appointment! The rest of the operation seems pretty good because it he line keeps moving! It's kind of amazing the post office is. There are a lot of options to send just about anything anywhere. Happy to be here for this and thanks to all the worker here doing a great job!”
“Great customer service. I went for passport service - the entire process was so smooth and stress free. The picture taken here is 5 times better from external passport picture taking shops.”

921 Manor Blvd, San Leandro“Not sure why everyone is giving my man Kyle a hard time but he was very welcoming and helpful! Small USPS but gets the job done and nice older man Kyle was talkative!”
“Never had a problem in this location. Especially happy with the service after bad experience in San Leandro Manor PO. I spent less than a minute to confirm my new address.”
