I recently bought tires and had them delivered to the Pep Boys on 14845 E 14th Street San Leandro, CA 94578. I made an appointment for 10/27/21 at 3:30pm. I called on 10/26/21 at around 1230 to confirm the appointment, and someone named Tim told me that I could come in before 6pm and get it installed. I drove over at 4pm and waited in line only to be told, "oh I thought you were going to leave the car overnight." I ended up leaving to come back the next day for my appointment. I arrived at my appointment time and was helped by an employee behind the counter with no name tag and in street clothes. I asked them if they had time to do the 120 point inspection, and they said yes no problem. He told me it would take about two hours and I left. I came back at 6pm (2 hours later) because I had not received any calls only to see all employees getting in their cars and driving off. I yelled at the person who helped me earlier as he was still in the parking lot. He told me they tried to call many times, but that is simply not true, or they took the wrong number down. I expressed that I NEED my car to get to work. I am a teacher and cannot just miss work on short notice! I asked him who the manager was and he wouldn't tell me. He then told me HE was the assistant manager. He also wouldn't tell me his name. He told me it was too late and was driving off. I checked online and it says that store closes at 7pm. Why was everyone driving off at 6:10pm? How is this even possible?? I have a full schedule tomorrow and cannot find a way there to pick up my car. I have to find a way to work, then I have other things I have to do after work, then how am I supposed to get back to pep boys, especially when they close early!? It's literally like they stole my car for the night. He wouldn't even give me my house keys! Completely unacceptable, I expect a full refund for whatever scam is being run at this location.

I've been going to Pep Boys for many years and until recently they've been reliable, which is why I'm going to be fair and not post an emotional 1 star review. In my most recent experience with Pep Boys I asked them to repair a flat tire for me. The tire was fairly new and there was no damage to the sidewall, therefore the guy at PB told me I wouldn't need a new tire. They call me at home an hour later telling me now that they HAVE to replace the tire and while I'm not happy about it I tell them that it's fine. They call me another hour later telling me that I have a 4WD and that it's mandatory that they replace all 4 tires immediately. after about 3 total hours of going back and forth they finally agree just to replace one tire. I don't mind their recommendation but changing their tune 2 times and wasting 3+ hours of my time before even working on my tire is unacceptable.

Very disappointed. I have an appointment with them to get my tires installed. I confirmed with the day before but when i get there they will tell that they have a lot of cars already and have no time for mine even tho i have appointment.

We came in to have our battery checked and we're quoted 129 and in 5 minutes the price went to 159 and the new manager had no excuse except to say the sales person was wrong and our business was not needed there. Hope you make an awesome impression on the rest of the world.

This location is very informative and offers Great customer service. I was also given a 10 % discount because of the long wait. Highly recommended. Also, they are very very busy because of their satisfactory service, so make sure someone can either pick you up or do not make any plans for the day if you end up having to wait.

The service was fast and convenient. The manager was very helpful and friendly (I believe his name was Josh). Really helped me understand more about my cars tires. After that he took me out to dinner and we had a long chat on the meaning of the universe and our place in this chaotic place. Josh also took care of my dog afterwards when my wife fell ill. Really a solid guy all around. Anyways the tires were pretty ok.

Josh was so friendly! I got my new tires and he really helped me learn more about my car. I would for sure come back to this location after bad experiences elsewhere.

JULIO Astrada the manager is so incompetent .. I dont understand how they have this guy as a manager . We recently had an experience and he straight accused my brother of damaging his OWN car after leaving pepboys ... Whoever was working on the car at pepboys damaged the rim of the wheel and after accused my little brother with NO PROOF that it was him that did it after he left with the car... ... mhmm funny how before you started working on the car you didn't notice that ? That rim Was not Damadged when my brother took it in ..and JULIOs response is that my brother did it when he was driving it back home... in a 4 mile drive my little brother would do that ? Makes no sense... I find it extremely unprofessional to accuse someone of doing something when you don't have proof...Julio you should be not be working in customer service related job.... your a joke. You fucked up , and we know it and that's why you think its okay to pin it on my brother . Julio said that "he can't take liability" wow so let's just pin the blame on the customer...

Completely unhelpful, incompetent customer service. Don't bother going here for a Lyft inspection. Long line, ignored appointment time, waited a long time and they declined to inspect, unlike others I've been to for third party inspections.

I have been here two times already for oil changes and have been given great customer service. i am very pleased with this store and their mechanics. I will be returning for future services. I'm not giving five stars because there's always room for improvement like a car wash would be nice. I understand that might be asking for much but it's just a thought.
