Never had a bad experience at this supermarket. I go at least once a week. Prices are higher than other supermarkets. Staff is friendly. The only cashier whose ever had a bad attitude is Nancy.

Holy crap this place just purposely put meat in our veggie burritos for what? To be complete dicks? Our order was online so why the bad vibes? They fully admitted to sabotaging our food, too. Isn't that right, Beto?

This review is for the taqueria. The burritos here used to be really good - full of flavor and meaty and spicy salsa. Very disappointed with the quality today - empty calories. And the molcajete salsa that I bought separately was just a mild tomato purée.

I mostly come here for the carne asada fries only. However each time I go I always regret going because the staff is so slow. Also it's happened to me a couple times were I have gone around 8:20pm and they tell me it's closed but the taqueria is suppose to be open until 9pm. The staff starts closing early so they can leave exactly at 9pm. Once I was in there around 8:30 a customer came in wanting to order but a lady didn't let anyone order after me. The customer stated the time and she just repeated closed closed the customer left upset. Which by the way I didn't even order anything because everything had already been cleaned up and they had turned everything off. So don't expect to come here after 8pm most likely will get turned away that they are "closed" even though they are suppose to be open until 9pm.

I became a regular at Chavez Supermarkt because of the freshness of the fish, beef and vegetables. All of the staff are always happy to help with my grocery needs. IMO we all have to be extra nice to each other because of the mandates and world events. I was there the other day and witnessed how professional Chavez employees are, so I felt the need to applaud the interaction. A customer was was upset that he was directed into forming one line. Nancy the cashier was polite, professional and clear directed the customer again to please form one line. Again the customer protested and refused profusely. I am writing this review because I feel that employees that have to deal with rude and mean customers should be recognized for their professionalism. Nancy is getting this five star review, I admire her calmness while dealing with nasty customers.

long line, so i thought i'd give it a shot. imo, you can judge the quality of a taqueria on their salsa alone. id give their salsa a 1/10. probably the worst attempt at pico de gallo i have ever tasted. this place is extremely commercialized and so i understand that there isn't very much effort put into the food. giving them 3 stars because the kitchen and seating areas are very clean. also the meat seems very fresh, especially the chicken. overall, you can find 10x better at a family owned taqueria instead, where the food is made with love.

I e become a regular (so I think). I moved to the Almaden area about a year ago and have not found any near by "hispanic / Mexican " grocery stores but glad chavez supermarket isn't too far. Meats are at a reasonable price and pretty fresh. The staff aren't always attentive to the customers but I'm rating this for their products I buy not the staff lol. I don't think I've exchanged words with any other staff member other than the cashier but I get it, they're busy! Check out the taqueria joint...my favorite!!!

If I could leave a 0 star rating I would, every time I come i wait 30+ minutes. As for example today I waited 15 minutes for an online order that should've been ready, workers are rude I would steer clear of this place.

Great place to buy most of your Latino ingredients for a home cooked meal or carne asada

My last stop today was Chavez and I just had Nancy, the sweetest checker, help me out. She asked how my day was going and I said I had been running errands and was done. She said hey the sun is shining, you're going home, it's a good day. Eye contact, smiling...so positive and kind. Chavez is very fortunate to have you on their team. Thank you Nancy!

$43.00 for 2 Taco Plates consisting of 3 Tacos on each plate with a can of soda. Frankly, the food was not hot when I brought it to the table. They put a little cheese on 5 Tacos and charge $5.00. I know our current Administration brought on high inflation, but may the Lord help us for the prices at Chavez Taqueria. The staff at the Taqueria are great friendly people, but their prices are way out of line. Merry Christmas to All.

Review is for the taqueria connected with the market. Did not particularly friendly customer service and the food is really expensive - $12.99 for a California Burrito. Thats the highest I've probably ever seen.
