Pretty good for last minute holiday shopping and the discounted section! I really enjoyed looking at their wares as it was fun and enlightening! Great butter selection with lots of great deals and the associates are always quite nice! I forgot to clip my deals (recommend!) and I stepped in and the associate not only complimented my jacket but helped me despite the very long cue of help needed!

BEWARE. If your cart malfunctions and locks up after you leave the store, they will forcefully grab your cart and items back to the store and accuse you of shoplifting. They did this to me yesterday. I paid for my items in self-checkout and left the store. The wheels locked and instead of helping me, they forcefully took my PAID FOR items and demanded to see a receipt. I have no obligation to show them my receipt after I paid. This is not Costco. I told them to call the police, which they refused to. So I called them and two officers arrived and promptly educated their ignorant staff about the law. No employee witnessed anything. They went simply off the cart lock up as their justification to steal my property. After the police educated the ignorant staff as to the actual law, in lieu of me pressing charges for theft against them, I opted for an apology. One employee seemed sincere when apologizing, but the other employee, the actual thief, offered a terse apology. Safeway needs to educate their employees that they cannot demand receipts and that a cart lock up can be due to equipment issues and does not determine theft. And I don't appreciate being called a Kevin and an ahole when I was clearly in the right.

Since my last review of this store, it's gone to hell. The checkers and counter people are overworked, exhausted, and surly. There is never anyone staffing the seafood counter. Nobody ever responds if you ring the bell. There's usually only one register station staffed, with a line. There's usually a line for the self checkout, but you can't use that if you're buying beer, and there's one exhausted worker trying to cover the four stations. But all supermarkets are like that these days. So in a way this is a review of every supermarket within a ten mile radius. Visiting a supermarket today leaves my ears ringing for the rest of the day. It's loud as hell in every supermarket any more. There's a din from the squeaking, rattling, roaring refrigerator cases. And they turn the classic rock muzak up to ear splitting levels to overpower it. Aside from chronic hearing damage, the counter people in the deli can not hear over the din. I practically have to climb up on the display case to lean over it and shout. So they ALWAYS slice stuff the wrong thickness and put the wrong sides in the combos. They can't hear the orders, and they don't speak English. If they can't see you point at it, they don't know what you want, and since you can't hear them repeat the order you don't know they're doing it wrong until it's in the bag. I've really tried to be kind to the staff. Albersons broke their union, and they hate their jobs. But shopping at any supermarket any more just ruins my day. And that's even if I manage to avoid the chemical stench in the Tide aisle. I'll bet some executive got a bonus for making these stores so unbearable, for staff and consumers alike. Maybe there was even a stock buyback It's got to be intentional.

I don't know why people hate this place. The meat here is really good. I love the lamb leg and ribeye steak. The rib eye was so tender it taste like Japanese Wagyu. Service wise it is alright so I give it a four star.

MARCY (who works at the self check-out line) IS a B*TCH, WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS.I walked up to an available register and she yelled at me that it didn't work and to get back in line. While back in line, I was telling my daughter that she didn't have to speak to me so rudely and an elderly lady in front of me said that Marcy yelled at her for the same thing! As we finally got to ringing up our items at approved registers, the elderly woman asked Marcy what her name was and Marcy responded with her name and barked "Go ahead and complain! Go ahead and complain!" in a very aggressive manner. Why work in customer service if you're going to treat people that way?!MARCY SHOULD BE FIRED ASAP!

lazy staff. walked around talking and joking with each other while I waited and asked for their help. When I asked directly for help, a woman named Sellina (I heard a colleague call her name), came to help me without an unhappy and unfriendly face.

Worst drive up and go service ever. Every single time. Store is old and smells weird. Worst Safeway of all time.

The last few months this Safeway has had a severe shortage of shopping carts. Hello... Im trying to grocery shop. I've literally had to wait outside for someone to come out with a cart and wait for them to put their groceries in the car so I can grab their cart. Their produce always seems to be going bad and even rotted at times. The last time I bought salmon it was already bad even though the sticker said otherwise. There is always long lines and a shortage of workers. I continuously have to bag my own groceries. I guess its time to make the new Safeway down Berryessa my regular Grocery store.

I used to take my work break here and this is the nearest Safeway that I can reach. They have a good selection of lunches and drinks that I can buy before I resume work. Back in high school, I was a regular here. This was when I first started my job. Unfortunately unlike other Safeways this store is very antiquated. It looks like it may have been around here since the early 1990s. However it's not all tough news because most the items I need are found here if I need to fill up during the break hours at work. Like other reviews I too had issues with the staffing. At times this place can be understaffed. The key to this place is you must have great patience and not expecting what you need to always be in stock. I could go to a better Safeway but this one is the nearest.

No stars for them. I have been shopping here for a long time but today I am making a decision not to go back there. There is a lady here that's wearing an arm brace .. extremely rude and unprofessional. I was standing in line and saw a lane open. I went towards that lane and the lady in the arm brace pushed my cart away. My son was inside the cart and he hit his head. She let someone else go in front of me. That's fine and not the problem. If I was cutting, there is a nice way to say it. Then she goes to the check out girl and tells her I was cutting. I asked the girl at the check out ' am I not supposed to be in this line ?' her response ' I didn't say that , if you don't want be here then don't.' I held myself back because I had my son with me. Very very rude people working here.

I showed up at 11:52 tonight and they closed and locked the doors already. This store says 12am close. The night shift should be grilled about locking doors before the official closure time.

Wouldn't recommend doing Drive&Go pickup here because no one ever comes out no matter how long you wait, and their service number doesn't take calls or voicemail. For some reason all online orders have to be picked up instore by showing ID and only then will the staff bring out your order so the Drive&Go might as well not exist (they should really just remove that option from the store entirely). The staff are generally nice enough and most of these problems aren't their fault but the way that the store is run in regards to online orders is very questionable.
