The Goodwill stores are a great and fun way to shop. I go there often; my favorite store is the one on the ElCamino in Santa Clare. The Goodwill programs, however, leave much to be desired. Probably originally instituted with the best of intentions, they have devolved into enclaves of favoritism and clear class discrimination. Run by children, no one there in any decision making capacity is over 30 years of age, with limited formal education, it is an unabashed bastion and refuge for criminals of every stripe. It appears that one of the requirements for any paid position there is that you be a single, and preferably a multiple time prison releasee. It appears that almost all of the people in their programs as participants are criminals with long records of transgressions.. So, if you are non-white, under 40, a seasoned criminal, that is a person of low character and low morality, and of limited education and steeped in a low culture of rap music, they will bend over backwards the help you. However, if you are white, have a good University education, a history of professional employment, not under 40, and not steeped in low popular culture, they will not help you. They would rather that you just go away and die, perhaps your presence reminding them, too painfully, of what they are and are not.

Lousy attitude at the donation trailer on Grant Road, Los Altos CA in the Lucky’s parking lot. I just dropped a small bag of clothing off. There were a couple other people dropping off bags of items. The man told me he couldn’t take my bag, he was busy. I left the bag on his trailer and he said if I come back he will not take my donations. What???? I had another issue with him about 6 months ago. I was with my husband that time. As we were walking to the trailer he told us to hurry up. We are elderly and perhaps a bit slower

Goodwill appreciates people! Has great programs for people looking to restart and better themselves. I'm very appreciative that they're still helping the community during these trying times. Keep up the great job!! Stay safe!!!

It used to be fun to go see what hood deals could be found. However they decided to get rid of tag color sales and now everything id sold as-is so you can't return or exchange an item that didn't work or didn't fit. Their prices are also ridiculously high and all they good items they get donated are auctioned off online to whoever can pay the most. They claim to be a non profit to get special status and tax breaks but the CEO and the rest of the director make a big profit for themselves every year. They are not there to help those in need they're there to maximize profits from selling items that they received for free. Goodwill is a SCAM. Boycott it if you can and go to other thrift shops that actually sells items at a reasonable price.
