Amazing service from Mike & Team - they moved super quick, were super professional and very nice guys all around. I am impressed with the level of service. And would highly recommend this team.

I had such a pleasant experience with Michael and his brother Patrick! They are professional, courteous, and very hard working! They delivered a piano to our house-on a hill no less-and were truly a joy to work with. You can't just hire anyone to move a piano. You need someone with experience and knowledge who won't damage the instrument or your floors/stairs. It's clear that Michael knows what he's doing and you can have full faith that he'll take great care your piano. This was the only piano moving company I called who picked up the phone, was able to schedule me for a two hour window and was reasonably priced. Michael even gave me some advice on tuning and maintenance for the piano-he knows his stuff! Wholeheartedly recommend this company if you're moving a piano!

I can't stress enough how pleased we were with this company. Initially, they were referred to us because of a last minute plan hiccup on our part - a plan that would have a domino effect on the work that needed to be done to our house. I left a voicemail in the morning before working hours and Mike called back right away. We don't have an easy house to move a baby grand but assured me that they could make it work. He booked us and put our minds at ease. In all our commotion, I even forgot to send him the text with my address and a picture of the front steps! He called 30 minutes before arriving anyway just to double-check that I hadn't changed the plans. He and his team were professional, fair, efficient, and personable. Then...before leaving they offered to help us with a monster of a piece of furniture - all with a smile. I had to ask him many times to adjust the cost because the second job took the majority of the time that they were here. They are superior in every category and I'll definitely keep their number for future needs and I recommend them with confidence.

My friend recommended Mike to me to move our grand piano. I first send him a message, no reply for days; then called him, no answer and the mailbox was full; then called him next day and left a voicemail, no answer; then I called another day, still no answer, so I sent him another message .... He NEVER responded to my messages nor phone call nor voice mail. We had to move the piano within 2 weeks and could not wasting time waiting for just a response. So I contacted another piano moving company after waited for a week and half for Mike, that company responded right away and moved my piano the next day. If you need to move your piano in a timely manner, I would just recommend you to find another company that actually respond you in a timely manner.

I initially had some difficulty contacting Mike, but when we set the date he delivered and set up my 6'5" grand piano without a hitch. He even knew about a tricky pedal board hookup on this particular piano, which a previous mover did NOT. He and his brother Pat took great care in covering our new carpeting while moving the piano. These guys are real pros!

The crew were quite professional and fantastic at coordinating the upright piano move. Would certainly use them again if occasion arises.

We had a spinet piano to move from the second floor of my mom's townhouse and we called many movers. Some turned the job down claiming it was too hard. Others talked about removing railings and having to use elaborate equipment to do the job. Many looked at the job and decided the difficulty warranted an exorbitant amount of money to do it. Mike gave me a reasonable price and assured me he would be able to do the job. Just by speaking with him he gave me confidence that this was indeed true. I met him and his buddy at the house, and before I could finish watering a few plants in the backyard they had the piano in the truck and were ready to go. I was amazed because so many others were sniveling about how hard the job would be; getting that piano down such a narrow stairwell. Besides being more than competent Mike and his partner are genuinely nice guys. I'm glad I used them and that my mom's money went to a couple of real men. Too bad the world isn't full of more people like them!

Mike and his crew have moved pianos for us three times, and each time he has been great to work with. I've been very impressed with the tight spaces they've managed to squeeze our baby grand through, and they're very careful not to damage anything.

Great experience with Mike and Mike at Bay Area Piano Movers. I needed help moving an upright from my garage into the home and Mike was able to help. Communication, scheduling, service and price were all excellent. I will call Mike again if I need to move the piano again!

I'm a professional composer, and although I'm not a good pianist, I depend on my instrument to do my work. We recently moved to SF from Boston, and the biggest selling point with the house we bought was when I saw the room where I could do my work. So when United arrived on move-in day and said I needed a dedicated piano moving team - their crew of 6 couldn't possibly do it - my heart sank. So United assembled my piano in my garage so I could make sure it had survived the move. (United's Boston-based crew had dropped the piano about 6". Thank God it was in a heavy crate at the time...)United reached out to one of their third party movers, another company that is known and respected here in the Bay Area. The owner of that company was super helpful, having me text him photos and measurements. After much back-and-forth, he said I needed a crane. So he sent a crane company, and that guy saw the house, and the power lines, and said he couldn't possibly do it. The house is built into a steep hill, and the studio where I wanted the piano is in the very back, at the bottom of the house. So craning the piano over the top of the entire house reaching all the way to the back, then lowering it - he said he didn't have a big enough crane, and even if somebody did, the power lines here made it impossible. Ugh. Was my piano ever going to make it inside?I called the original unnamed piano mover back, and he came to the house to see it in person, in case my measurements that I sent had missed something. He said "I just can't risk this. There's only one good way in, and it's extremely challenging, and my guys are going to be exhausted by the time they get to this 90 degree turn, if they can even get through here, and there's nowhere to put down the piano, and then they're stuck. I don't feel safe doing it. You should call Mike at Bay Area Piano Movers. That guy will try anything." So I called Mike.Mike was super nice on the phone and offered to come out to the house free of charge that same evening (a Friday!) to assess. He and his massive forearms arrived and he said it was a hard job, but he could do it if I had a contractor remove part of a stair bannister, and put down really good non-slip floor protection on the stairs in advance of his arrival. So that's what we did. Mike quoted a fee that seemed high, even in San Francisco. I thought maybe it was because he knew I was desperate, and that he was literally the only person in the area who would attempt this. Or maybe that's just what it costs to do something like this and do it right. But did they do it right? I'll tell you...I texted Mike the following Friday and told him that the contractor was going to do his part the next morning - Saturday. "Great. I'll be there in the afternoon, or Sunday morning at the latest. I know you're a composer, and this is important to you, so I want to get this done ASAP. But I need to have my best crew, so I have to check their availability. This job requires people who know what's about to happen before it happens." That, to me, is the definition of a good team.Mike and his crew of 4 other guys arrived exactly on time on Saturday afternoon - after several texts back and forth in advance to make sure things would be ready for him. (I know this is a small point, but how great is it that he texts?! And he's so quick to respond, if he's not literally holding somebody else's piano at the time you message him.) My piano is a Yamaha C3 Disklavier - 6'1", but heavier and more complicated than your standard 6' because of the electronics inside. Lots of tucked away wires, two computers, plus I have climate control in there. (Mike was like "nobody in San Francisco has a humidity system, you know...") The crew removed the keyboard, disconnected the Disklavier computer, the humidity system, and showed m

I am sure these guys are good at what they do, but they don't call you back and don't answer the phone. Good luck trying to get a hold of them. I just went to another mover and they answered their phone every time.

I was so incredibly impressed and stunned by how professional, thoughtful, and fun of a service that Mike and his crew provided today as they moved a baby grand piano that I bought from Burlingame to Oakland. I thought that my home, with all the steps down, would be particularly challenging for them, but they handled every twist and turn with grace. They've moved thousands of pianos over decades and these are the people you want to work with to move something that you cherish. I was so thrilled with my Bay Area Piano Movers experience that I was eager to leave them with a tip.

Mike and his crew are FABULOUS!!! Truly, they are experienced, trustworthy, honest and incredibly easy to work with. I have zero experience with owning/transporting a piano and found one through a private seller, and had to figure out how to get it to my home. I called Mike and within a day he gave me a fair quote and booked my move within the next two days. He was very honest and fun to work with. Not to mention they are efficient but even more thorough in wrapping and protecting not only the piano but the floors and surrounding areas. I was so amazed to see them maneuvering the piano so carefully in very tight spaces but they did it with zero issues. I didn't realize how important it is to trust people who are experienced at moving pianos, not just any moving company. If you need help moving a piano, even moving it within your house, or have any questions about piano care, Mike is the one to call!!!

Fast. Responsive. Careful with the piano and set up in the new crib. Kind of expensive but that's expected. Highly recommended if you are moving a piano of any size.
