I have done my taxes with Rafael for more than 10 years and always gave good recommendations for his business. I am a single mom with income low enough to file my taxes with a free agency but how I have always done my taxes here and it takes them about 15 minutes to complete. I always opted to pay them to do it for me because they already have all my information in the system. This time I called for a quote and appt and they quoted $260 for each year (I didn’t do last years taxes). I asked the attendant if she could double check this quote with Rafael. She said she would and would call back. I never received a call back. This is more than H&R Block but without the bells and whistles (guarantees). Sadly I will be moving my small but constant business elsewhere. I guess Rafael has gotten to big for my small amount of business.

Horrible! Called a month in advance to seek out tax advice and schedule an appt., never got a callback. Been coming here for years! Yup I too got a call from the IRS asking me about my tax filings a few years ago. But I still remained loyal to this business. Called today and a woman told me no opening til after the tax deadline. I told her I'm not a new client and that I called over a month ago but no one called me back. All she could say was sorry, and that she did see in her call log that I did call but because I didn't leave a detailed reason for the callback then that's why I never received a call. I was shocked. I told her I did leave a reason, it was regarding a personal matter between me and the tax preparer. Why would I share my personal details with some stranger on the phone? So fast forward to today I'm basically being told indirectly we have no time for you. So much for loyalty, and even overlooking the IRS call and meeting I had to go to regarding my taxes a few years ago. I was willing to give this business the benefit of the doubt but only to be treated like this?! I don't know if the owner knows what's going on but this is unacceptable. I told the woman how disappointed I was with this entire experience. I also told her if you don't tell them I will. And here I am sharing it with everyone. I'm no longer going back here ever again. This was the last straw. Not even 5 mins. after getting off the phone with the woman I made an appt. with another tax preparer and we are scheduled to meet before 4/15.

I came to Rafael's Tax Service at the recommendation of a friend who assured me Rafael would take care of my needs. I was nine years behind on my tax filings and feeling very jittery, but I knew I had to go forth to correct the situation. Rafael listened to me, put me at ease and turned me over to Hector who immediately called his IRS contact source to ensure he had all of my business records that were reported to the IRS. He completed all of my filings in a couple of weeks! He walked me through each of the federal and state filings before they were sent out, explaining why I was actually owed money and how I lost money by not filing timely! This was a godsend! Rafael is very generous with his time, giving me tips on how to better manage my record-keeping to ease my filing burden. He and Hector are friendly, caring professionals, with very reasonable fees, who place the needs of their clients first. I highly recommend Rafael's Bookkeeping & Tax Service as second to none!!

I've been going to do my taxes with Rafael since 2011 and I can't recommend him enough. He is professional, reliable, knowledgeable and a true example for his community. He always explain the filling to me and give me tips. I always left his office feeling like I just had a financial class. I can't attest of the other tax preparers at his office but If you go with Rafael you won't be disappointed. Thanks Rafael!

Rafael is a life savor, wasn't going to file my taxes due to all the craziness happening but he was very helpful and made the whole thing easy and fast, he was able to get me a good refund me thinking I wasn't going to get much! Gracias Rafa!

I went to Hector Garay to file my 2017 taxes. The preparation was easy and he seemed to do a good job, then I received my first notice from the IRS that my taxes were paid but never filed. So I called Hector, told him about it and he said he'd take care of it. I've now received my FOURTH notice from the IRS saying the same thing and now he's not returning my phone calls. I didn't want to write this bad review but there's only so much negligence one can stand. I also noticed in the reviews that this has happened to other people. Don't bother with this place, it's not with it.
