prices are unnecessarily high. the owner is friendly only to his clique of "friends". take your money elsewhere and support local businesses that are welcoming, with fair pricing.

Lovely shop. Beautiful wines. Engaging proprietor. It's old world as others have reviewed: French & Italian. The owner knows which winemakers are spinning modern methods on old vines. Every bottle we've bought hit the mark

In Francisco we are blessed with good wine shops. But if we are looking for something out of the ordinary, a little something special, this is the spot. It is a little out of the way, but well worth the trek.

Super lucky to find this AMAZING Wine purveyor of fine wines in " Dogpatch" neighborhood of SF. It is mesmerizing walking in with all the bottles lining the walls like wallpaper. Quaint extension of Piccino Italian neighborhood cozy cafe and bakery. All of the wines were numbered so easy to hand pick your fav's. I enjoy Italian reds and was impressed by their menu. They must have tastings also, and I think the tables in front outside are shared with diners. Hip, fun place to share a bottle with a friend. I will definitely make a trip to come up to DIG SF . Thanks Wayne for your welcoming me in.

This wine shop is tucked away on the corner that includes Piccino. It's not the most obvious location, but you can spot the shop by the sandwich board beckoning you from the sidewalk. Under normal circumstances Dig sends out weekly thorough, informative digests about a particular grape, the wines they sell for that grape, and a Friday HH tasting around those grapes! Unfortunately with this new world, who knows if that'll still be around, but Dig is still operating during COVID. The space feels like a clean, cozy, bright barn. They specialize in French and Italian wines, and the selection is thoughtful but not overwhelming. Each bottle is very clearly marked with the price, so you don't have to embarrass yourself with asking how much something is. The owner is very nice, and he was more than happy to help me select a Falanghina. I really hope we can find a new normal soon, and that this place will be there to greet us with a glass of wine when all is well again.

This wine shop is a hidden gem. Came across it by accident when I was waiting for a table at Piccino. They only have their wine flight tasting on Fridays, so glad we finally made it. They featured a flight of 5 different wines from the Paolo Bea's family in Umbria. If you enjoy spicy red wine with the flavor of some dark fruit, I'd highly recommend their Rosso de Veo and Pagliaro. It was definitely a nice and relaxing spot in the neighborhood. It's a nice way to chat with the neighbors, and the owner has very in-depth knowledge of imported european wines. However, for a $35 wine flight, the pours were considerably conservative. If the amount of your purchase is double or more of the tasting, then your tasting fee could be waived, which is a great way for the store to upsell. I'd love to come back and buy / check out more wines, but I'm not sure if I will come back for the value I can get out of the tasting.

Three plus strikes for this place. I really wanted to like this small Indy neighborhood wine shop. Nice selection of old world wines in my neighborhood. I went for 4 tastings. First 3 became progressively disappointing each more than the previous. I have been to tastings all over the globe, at all tiers. DIG is hands down the smallest pours, higher price range for what is being poured, and all 3 times accompanied by unsolicited rationale from the proprietor regarding said minuscule pours, limited bottles in shop and how much money he loses on his tastings. Ok, fine, fair enough. Tonight was the last straw. Decided to give this place one more chance as it is my local neighborhood small business and I want to support that. Went before end of tasting "time ", told it was sold out and I need to get there at 5. Lots of open bottles visible, could have at least offered something as a customer service gesture. I will continue to give my regular business elsewhere where I can find same exact and expanded selections.
