“As I wrote almost 14 years ago (!), this is my regular San Francisco ATM. Especially now that I'm not in Downtown Berkeley five days a week anymore, there isn't really a convenient, safe surcharge-free ATM within walking distance of my old flat that burned down, so you can bet that there's definitely not a convenient, safe surcharge-free ATM within walking distance of my new place in the Mission. When I move my car once a week or when I'm running errands or returning from wherever and I happen to need cash, I still come to Geary Boulevard and almost always find free parking after hours. The little lobby is still locked and only accessible with a card, so it's a safe place in an already safe neighborhood. A few months back, I inserted my card into the ATM and was informed that I could not receive service at this ATM. I was shocked and saddened and was immediately thinking about the machinations I would have to make to find its replacement, but when I was taking my card out, I realized I had inserted my NDFCU credit card into the ATM rather than my NDFCU debit card. I wiped my brow and inserted the correct card, and lo, it worked! And when I went to choose my normal $200 withdrawal amount, I noticed that you could withdraw in multiples of $10 rather than $20, so this ATM now dispenses $10 bills--albeit one at a time. The following time I went, only twenties were available, but ever since then, I've been getting $210 just to get that additional Hamilton to George before I spend it on pinball quarters. So inflation has actually made me happier, strangely--in this one area. So this review update should be five stars, but you know what else they changed? You can no longer not get a receipt. How stupid is that? And you get a separate receipt for each transaction you complete; so if you are, say, depositing a check and withdrawing cash, you would be forced to take two receipts. Why? It's so stupid and wasteful and drops the rating back down to four stars.”

“This branch of First Republic is pretty efficient. I was in and out lickety split. They have a security guard who opens the door for you. Dispensers of hand sanitizer abound as well as wipes. At each bankers desk, there is a plexiglass screen to protect bankers (and you too!).I stood on a circle and waited my turn which wasn't very long. A banker can out and greeted me. I showed her a paper with what I wanted done and she got right to it.No sitting down at the bank anymore.No chocolate chips cookies :(But this visit required expediency as I was short on time.The Asian female banker was so efficient it was thrilling!I haven't had such quick service in any bank in a LONG time!I look forward to my next banking opportunity at First Republic. For sure it'll be at this branch!”
