My local branch (Navajo and Jackson) used to be great. They just had 100 percent personnel turnover, and now they are just like every other bank. It's such a pain to deal with people that won't follow through.

I have been banking with Mission Federal for roughly 15 years, yet this bank likes to put my paychecks on hold when I make a large deposit. I've been out of town telecommuting a lot but once I return to San Diego, it is time to close the account and be done with them. It is time to move all of the bill pay information that is a pain and generally keeps a relationship even if the service is mediocre at best but the service has slipped below mediocre. I am not calling you again to remove the holds on a bank that is next door to you and a check from has NEVER bounced in the 15 years of deposits. The bank did call me to address this issue which I really appreciate but still think their choice in holding funds from another local bank as long as they seem to is unreasonable. Their service is good but their funds policy seems outdated on a 10 day hold on a local bank. I would have thought the phone call from management regarding this review and their funds availability would have removed any hold so despite wanting to revise a more positive review of their bank I left it at one star.

I had a horrible experience here. The branch manager which I found out she was later, questioned where I got money for a deposit the day before. I was shocked. Why are you questioning where I get my money from. Thats not protocol. She wasn’t trying to continue the transaction until she got an answer. The whole thing was weird and disgusting. She tried to give me a made up story about why she asked and it made no sense. Will definitely not go back to this branch.

I had the pleasure of working with two young women at the San Carlos branch today and they were amazing! I regret not obtaining the name of the first, she was very professional and knew customers by name! Branch Manager, Michelle Martin was extremely knowledgeable and is clearly terrific in her position. EXCELLENT customer care!

i wish i got the names of the tellers that helped me. i went in the other day to deposit my saved cash and i was helped by 2 lady's, 1 of them seemed to me like a trainee because the other lady was telling her what to do. while i was waiting for the trainee to count my money the other lady was not wearing a mask but also coughing out loud not covering her mouth. disgusting. still waiting awhile the trainee finally comes back and im asking questions on my account and the older teller lady was answering me like a smart alec and made me feel like I should have known the answer to the questions I was asking. she was so disgusting and rude i am never recommending this location and closing my account after this.

Apparently it takes you guys 90’days for to set up online bill pay for a new account. In this day and age, this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. The explanation I was given was “this is our process” Won’t be recommending you to anyone I know. - that’s my process!

Mission Federal in El Cajon is the worst! Last week I got a direct deposit of 16k. I called and said, I don’t think this is mine, what name was it sent to. They said they couldn’t tell me, but they would reverse the deposit. Now, I find out it is for a company that was sued for overcharging customers because they sent a check I received yesterday. Only problem is they did business with my husband, so check is made out to him. He died in 2017. I go to the EC branch with my mar

This branch has bad customer service. The teller wanted me to tell exact reason why I wanted to send a transfer to my brother and I told her I was sending a transfer to my brother and it was my business why. She then lectured me on the world we live in and gave me an attitude. She came back and asked me to give her the sticky pad note that I wrote the transfer information on so she could photocopy it. I declined and felt she was being invasive. She then told me the website was down to order checks and that I had to fill out a big form to change my address which I had done a month earlier without filling out a form. Classic example of passive aggressive teller not happy I didn't tell her why I was sending money. I'm pretty sure I'm closing my account now #laststraw

Went viral on a video. Had gotten my payment for it direct deposited. After the whole day going by I decided to go to the bank and withdraw a little and they instantly flagged my account and took my funds as if it’s impossible for someone to go viral in 2020/2021. Like it’s impossible for someone to get paid for a viral video. That’s ridiculous and now my money is on a general hold even though the money was ACH deposited straight from Snap Inc.

Umm.. This branch at Navajo was always awkward for me. I never felt comfortable going in... always it seemed the staff rolled their eyes when I came in. So I left, closed my account and opened up and account with CB&T. I opened my account in the Branch in Downtown San Diego and they were lovely. But I never felt fully welcomed at this Branch. Moving on never felt better.

Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am so bummed I didn't get the woman's name. I wish I could give zero stars. So I opened an account through work at our health and benefits fair. I opened this account as an additional one to the bank account I have just to save extra money so I don't really look at it. I noticed today that $2 have been deducted out of my account for the last ten months. I called in and the woman who helped me said that it is my fault because I didn't read the terms and conditions that were given. "Everyone is given terms and conditions when they open an account and if you didn't read it then it is your fault." Honestly, I believed in the manager that it was a free account. No one told me about registering my account for e-statements so that it would be free. Wouldn't that be one of the main things you tell customers? Hey, make sure you do this or you lose $2 a month. Anyhow, if I knew of the terms would I continue to let Mission Federal take $2 out of my account each month? Why does she think I am calling now? And come on you work at a bank, where was the customer service? I didn't even ask for the money back or anything so what is up with the attitude?? I would've appreciated an explanation instead of telling me it's my fault. Either way, the money is gone. Friendly customer service would've been nice. So when I told her I didn't appreciate her tone and the way she spoke to me she just said she's sorry to hear that. Literally, I am shocked at the woman's tone and service. I am in awe. Again, if I could give zero stars I would do it in a heart beat. Please please educate your employees on how to talk to customers.

I'm extremely upset. One of the tellers did NOT practice social distancing during our hesitant but necessary visit to the Navajo Rd branch today. I don't want to leave my house, I'm a mother and I'm the head of my household and I am taking every safety precaution to protect my family. I need every business that's operating to enforce the safety guidelines that are clearly outlined and mandated my our county, city, and state go government. I had a long and heated discussion with my child as well (the person whose space was violated by the bank teller/employee). We are not immune to this virus and I'm expecting places of business to properly train their employees! This branch forced everyone to open the door instead of just leaving the door ajar or at least propping the door open! I'm VERY disappointed and I question the level of training because what I experienced today contradicts some of the safety measures communicated to MissionFed members. I'm very concerned about the safety of others being compromised at this branch. I don't care if we're not used to all the changes we've ALL had to adapt to the last few months! This is the new normal and we have to be safe and take precautions. I visited Chase last week and they did an excellent job of taking safety precautions! I pray that God gives us all wisdom to use and to think of others. The employee was more mature and my heart broke because I thought to myself what in the world are they thinking standing so close to my child???? Please just be more aware and the I did not plan to spend my Thursday afternoon typing this complaint because I didn't want to go to the bank in the first place-I had to because my transaction couldn't be done online or mobile.
