I wasn't impressed for the price. Pool not heated. No jacuzzi, no air conditioning. No linen closet.

I used to live here. I planned to take over a lease which the leasing office agreed to in an email correspondence. After paying the application fee of $150, they “suddenly” told us the apartment, which the previous renters were paying a little under $3k for, was no longer available. They told us we could view the other apartments, which were well over $4k, and they wouldn’t return our application fee. They told us multiple times we could take over the lease from the previous renters but after i pay a non-refundable application fee for it they suddenly pull the rug out from under us and try to get us to rent a far more expensive apartment. Also, the place is just not well kept. One of the doors to the underground garage was broken and anyone could get in. I still have access to the LuxerOne mailbox that’s connected to the old apartment despite not living there for over a year! They towed my and someone else’s cars so they could paint the parking lot. I had parked there the previous night and there were no signs to move our vehicles. Not really sure what you’re paying $4.5k a month if you live here for. There’s a gym, which is tiny. There’s a pool. It’s in La Jolla I guess? Oh maybe you’re paying for people who previously live here to just take your mail! Or maybe you’re paying the rude staff who work in the leasing office to stare and type at their computer instead of looking at you when you’re having a conversation. There’s barely any parking and the garages are tiny. There’s a road that winds around the entire complex to help with moving in and out, but the entrance to it will dent the front of your car. It slopes up but it is way too steep for a normal vehicle.

To give the owner context, my review is based on the way the security deposit has been handled. I enjoyed my time at La Jolla Blue and the staff has been helpful with all my issues, but when I moved out I made sure to give my unit back in the same clean state I received it, regardless of the fact that it would be soon torn down for renovations. So I find the fact that a cleaning fee is being(and must be charged accordingly to the property manager) charged completely immoral and completely against the lease agreement.I would be very willing to change my rating if this situation is remedied.

Terrible management company - they took my full $600 security deposit for a "cleaning fee". They don't answer calls, emails, or any method you reach out to them. They units are small, outdated, and completely over priced. I can't recommend staying away from this facility anymore

I loved her for years and absolutely loved it. Such a gem. The leasing and maintenance team is so friendly, they are prompt to help you with any needs. It's a lovely safe and peaceful place to live! I will miss it.

The worst management company with no accountability. They took my security deposit of $600, and upon move-out, issued statement with refund of only $100. Upon questioning this, they said this is because previous management company Greystar only told them of $100 deposit. I provided proof of payment of $600 deposit, including lease agreement and ledger (which I fortunately had), but they said they will conduct their own review and get back to me in 30-45 days. Approximately 25 days after this discussion, I find out they reported my account to collections!! Rather than expediting their review and providing me a corrected statement, they asked me to wait patiently and then reported to collections! These people are thieves. Still trying to resolve this matter to get my deposit back and the statement corrected. They will not answer phone calls or respond to emails. Not to mention, they will apply ridiculous charges at move-out - I was charged $180+$190 (total $370) for cleaning, despite leaving the unit in great condition. All against California Rental Laws. Do yourself a favor and avoid this property as they are crooks.

This is every single week. The management does not have this property under control. There is no " no dumping " sign and they do not notify residents before moving out not to dump their old furniture here . If this was in front of the management office it would be removed immediately. This shows what is important!

New management is awful. They've switched management three times in two years. They occasionally charge incorrect rent, don't know how to do math with prorated rent, and will charge you a late fee when their automatic payments don't withdraw the correct balance. Like other reviews stated, their amenities have been closed for months and the parking garage gates break down constantly. Try another complex in the same neighborhood.

Recently toured La Jolla Blue and the property is absolutely beautiful. The complex is always well-tended and the office staff is very friendly and professional. They were able to answer any questions I had and were very detail oriented. The staff was also extremely responsive and answered any requests in a timely and orderly fashion. I definitely would recommend this complex to anyone seeking an apartment in La Jolla.

This place is a joke. Maintenance suddenly disappeared for 4 months of my time there. 3 no shows for my move out inspection. When I had my inspection they said all was good and it would just be the cleaning fee and I would receive my deposit within 21 days. I got a letter from them two weeks later with random charges and a $3 return on my deposit. Do not move here..there are way better options out there.

I’ve lived in the area a while, but just moved into La Jolla Blue a few weeks ago. I’ve seen lots of great improvements to the property over the years, which got me interested. After seeing the interior remodeling, which is also very nice, it sealed the deal for me. New management is doing an excellent job. Property staff and the maintenance team have also been very responsive and quick to resolve a few minor issues for me. I recommend this place as a great value for the area and a great staff. Jeri at the leasing office has be exceptional as well!

I really enjoyed living here at first but since the new management took over I literally can not get ahold of anyone ever. It has been 37 days since I returned my keys to the apartment and vacated and have not received any notice of deductions or my deposit back, which is illegal given CA rental laws. I have called managements number as well as left messages with the front desk clerks.

Current resident who can't wait to leave! This place has been under construction for two years straight. We haven't had access to any facilities since well before Covid. On top of all the changes and construction that they did (which didn't need to be done!!!) the roads have been replaced no less than 3 times this year! Without any warning, And with them having my license info and my number they decided to tow my car this morning! From my parking spot! When I went into the office to ask about it at 1150 in the morning. They said they emailed me at 1030am. I am working! Now that I need to leave I don't have a car. They could not care less or be any ruder! Save yourself the money and energy and don't live here. It's the worst place I've ever lived! It didn't help that they have switched management 6 times in the short time I've been here. Not to mention they increased rent during Covid!

FIVE STARS for my La Jolla Blue Team!!! I say that because I truly feel that I have a support team. I've been living in this community for a few months now and I love it. Great location, tons of storage, beautifully manicured. I have to hand it to everyone in the office for facilitating my move during COVID. Alex was amazing and made me feel at ease through the process. I'm extremely happy with my choice to live here.

Like others here, I don't really write reviews. But, I thought this information would be helpful for others considering leasing here.Management is impossible to work with. New management is even worse than the old one. I've never lived in an apartment complex where management straight up ignores your phone calls and emails. You have to go in person to talk to someone, and they just tell you to come back later to talk to someone else, even though everybody in the office is just sitting there doing absolutely nothing. Why would I come back later, to talk to someone else who is doing nothing and tells me to come back later again? We are moving out in less than a week. Hopefully the process goes smoothly and we actually get our security deposit back. I already have anxiety about the office avoiding giving us the security deposit, not confirming that they've received our keys, and flat out ignoring our calls. Let's see how it goes!!!
